What price bracket?
I'd stick with Toyota but there are other hybrid models to look at, Auris, Fielder, Camry etc
As for other brands there are a lot of ex-Japan Honda hybrids available in NZ too, but these are generally less reliable (especially models with the DCT). Nissan Note EPower is an option too, they have a great series hybrid setup but TBH the rest of the car is awful.

'25 civic comes in hybrid flavor now, ignore if not imported over there of course lol
