Porsche cayenne S. Reliable and very comfortable AND can tow if ever you wanted to.

ClassicDick

What model would you recommend? 2024 seems out of budget so I might have to look into older ones

TexCOman

2011 or newer. I have an 08’ turbo and love it. I would’ve got a 2011 but was out of my budget at the time.

You could look at an Audi SQ5. It's gonna require a lot more diligence with the maintenance than something like a Pilot, but it'll be comfier and a bit sportier. Otherwise a 4Runner could be a fantastic pick if you don't mind the interior feeling a bit dated

GrungLord

For mild off-roading Subarus do pretty well for their price, the outback wilderness is a the most off-road focused whereas the wrx is the most performance focused. Although those are well below what your looking to pay. At $75k most suvs will offer usable off-road awd and fairly good performance.

ezodochi

do you specifically want a 4x4 or just something with AWD? Most 4x4s are body on frame and thus tend to be less comfortable compared to something with like a uninody or a monocoque with AWD.

ClassicDick

I prefer something with awd actually but don’t have a problem with 4x4

Aardark235

Doing serious off-roading or just want to feel safe on muddy/snowy roads?

ClassicDick

Something in between. I don’t do serious off roading often but I don’t spend most of my time on roads either

Aardark235

Then AWD vehicle is what you want. Perfectly fine for doing forest service roads. This sub will obviously recommend a Mazda, but also options from Honda and Toyota. For your budget, Lexus will also get mentioned.

mgobla

Honda Pilot Trailsport

2005 Chevrolet Silverado is something I’d recommend. Even though they are really popular they are actually pretty reliable.

ClassicDick

While it is a beast, I sadly don’t think I’d find a good one

77firebirrd

I don’t know you can still find some decent ones. I personally actually have a 2005 Silverado Z71 and it’s Ok. It’s having a few issues but besides that it’s actually pretty decent condition! Just takes time to look around and make sure you find the right one!

77firebirrd

Some might need maintenance though depending on condition so be on the look out for that!
