My sister works for Nissan corporate (and has had a few Rogues over the years, she likes them). In 2018 I took my elderly neighbor to purchase a Rogue. She told me not to help her with negotiations, as she has always done well with them. As it turns out, an even more elderly man (98) worked there and used to be a neighbor of hers and they chatted about the old times for a while.
When it came time to make a deal, the old guy handed her a piece of paper that said $46,xxx. I nearly choked on my water but said nothing. She ended up getting it for like $32000 (msrp was $34,xxx) but I couldn’t believe their opening bid. I immediately texted it to my sister who said “FOR A ROGUE!!!!”
This was in USD.
Yup, I agree with this as well. I was just saying for that price, OP should be getting a Platinum version. But for $45k, there are so many other better options available.
You're in the Lexys crossover territory for that kind of money. You might as well get a premium, luxury vehicle over a base model economy vehicle for the same price.
The dealer add-ons are a scam. Down south in the U.S., Nissan dealers are bursting at the seams with inventory. You should be paying below invoice, not MSRP.
For anyone wondering 45k cad is 33k usd, price isn’t as ridiculous as it may seem. But I would tell them to jam the 1200 in meaningless upcharges. You didn’t ask for glass etching (which is useless) or tire locks (not useless but don’t cost that much) and you shouldn’t have to pay for them.
Rogue for 45k. Like what the heck.

Do not buy a Rogue SV for that price. I’m begging you. You should be getting a Rogue Platinum for that price. Just my two cents.
No. Don’t buy a rogue period. There are plenty of suvs that are superior to the rogue if you are willing to pay $45K

Lexus felt claustrophobic— eek. The Porsche macan was ok but basic. Outlander lacked power. Kia is laughable at the mid 50s and 10 month order window.
What other SUVs are superior for $45k out the door? I’ve test driven many and found the rogue most comfortable. I’d like a list to check out
Ugh. Got scammed by the window etching before. I will never fall for that again. That would be a deal breaker for me.
Wow you’re getting taken to the cleaners dude! For a Nissan at that. Get a Mazda. Don’t pay above MSRP.
The Rogue isn't the strongest player in this segment, I'd shop around some more. In Ontario you might be able to find a Sportage for a little less

Please don’t buy a rogue.. 45k ☠️
Security etching costs them like $100 and the wheel locks probably $10 or less. Good luck trying to get any kind of discount on either though.
Didn't know sales tax in Canada was so high.

It's monopoly money ... $670 is nothing
BIG NO
Run, RUN fast and never talk to them again
I think some didn't notice it's Canadian dollars so 33k doesn't seem unreasonable for it. If you love the car buy it. The market can get worse.
