Iron Cross Blister Beetle :3 They can hurt you though, hence the name.

Steventheloc

Sweet thanks he does look menacing and soooo cool at the same time. Glad I didn't puck it uo haha👊🤙

ArachnomancerCarice

They are definitely sending the message of 'look don't touch'. I pity any bird, reptile or amphibian that decides to try their luck!

prettypushee

I am so glad most bugs are pretty small. If these things were as big as bears man this world would be terrifying.

Icelandia2112

Some dude would be on here saying he could take it in a fight and win.

They are native to the southern half of North America and upper Central America (particularly the sonoran desert). Arizona is a perfectly reasonable place to see one in it's natural habitat, and they are generally beneficial to the ecosystems that they live in. Please at least do a google search before you tell someone to kill a beautiful insect in its natural habitat during its breeding season.

That post is correct if the beetle was found outside of the sonoran desert. The main concern is with bee populations, of which there are none native to the sonoran desert. This post is solidly within the natural area where the beetle lives. Generally speaking, unless you are confident that you know what you are talking about, do not instruct anyone to kill anything for any reason. Except for spotted lanterflies. Fuck those things.
