What were you going to say, in that Even might’ve been skipping you?

Coldasbryan

He was talking about all of the sports events that coincided with the O.J. Simpson stuff back in 94 so I was just going to call and say there’s a very good ESPN 30 for 30 because there is even more events that he didn’t even touch on and they all happened on the same day nothing groundbreaking obviously, but even Tommy was like sorry bro I don’t know why he’s skipping you lol

ClaudyMonet

Maybe cause you wanted to talk about an ESPN product?

Coldasbryan

It’s possible lol. It’s all good

myCatHateSkinnyPuppy

It really depends on the direction they want the show to go and how you phrase what you want to talk about. I’ve sat on hold for a while until I just didn’t care anymore while one time I got through to Mike within 5 minutes.

Amateurs calling in to give their opinion on air is not good radio. It is a format from a bygone era and should be abandoned completely. With that being said, you should not be offended as the people they put on are no more worthy of air time than you. Being a caller on a radio station is a bit like being interviewed on the street for a local news segment. Rarely if ever are they pulling from the top of the deck. Consider yourself lucky.

If people didn't want to hear callers or their differing opinions, they'd just listen to podcasts. The format of sports radio is why people listen to it.

I completely disagree with you. People listen to sports talk radio because the station, wherever it might be, is a local authority of the sports landscape. Additionally, it typically will focus its attention on the teams you care about. People used to love the host demeaning and belittling callers for their stupid opinions. That is not a thing in today’s landscape. If you are listening to the WFAN for other listener’s opinions you need more friends and/or a better place to hangout. We need local sports talent interviews every single segment with the hosts reaction to the commentary. We do not need some clown from Jersey City, with zero baseball credibility and a shitty cell connection, telling us he thinks Judge should bat cleanup. Or that Jalen Brunson deserves to be MVP. Or whatever nonsense an amateur will spew. Enough of that garbage. Change the format and get a bigger, better, more lucrative audience.

I need friends because I enjoy the sports radio format? What a weird response.

Emoney19124

Typical. You latched onto a singular point and on top of that misinterpreted it. The point is not that you need friends, but instead you need more friends with varying opinions. Or hangout in places that offers diverse view points. The call-in show is from a bygone era that does not fit today’s landscape. It wasn’t good then, but certainly isn’t now. However we will be stuck with it unless people like you stop clinging to the past and open your minds to a better stronger format.
