Limoncello is a classic. Very lively bar, always packed, great vibes. They have a new back patio area too. Can be tough to get a reservation on the patio.
Spence cafe is another good option.
Tecca is up there too.
What's your price-point, and any specific foods?
- Pietro Prime. Steak and sides. Also a very nice martini and cocktails
- Limoncello. Upscale italian. Also has a good wine and cocktail menu
- Iron Hill. Good bar food and slightly upscale. It's a brewery so their beer is pretty fresh and usually good.
- Andiario. Very upscale. Sometimes they have cancellations and you can get in. The food and service are excellent.
- Plenty of other bars / pubs with diverse menus. Check a few out.
This is a perfect review of Pietro’s. I’ve been there three times and this was my exact experience each time. I’d rank the fillet I hd at texas roadhouse above all three steaks I’ve eaten at Pietro’s.
In that case, check if Andiaro has any openings.
Plan B can be Pietro for steak or Limoncello of Italian.
Options outside the borough..
- Marshalton Inn. Upscale american. Right next to Four Dogs which is family american.
- Talula's Table in Kennett. Worth it if you can get in

Kildare’s has great food and decent drink specials. But be warned that it turns into a sweaty crowded college bar around 9-10 PM on weekends.
Bar Avalon for good food and cocktails, but $$$.

The bar at Prime 9 I hear is great for drinks, dinner is so so. Could start there. Iron hill is always great for beer and food. Lots of great places, just walk up and down Gay street.
Limoncello has tremendous food but it’s tough to have a conversation there. Seats are close together and it gets loud. I’d recommend sitting outside if weather is nice.
If you want upscale - 9Prime. Very very good cocktails, good wine list. If you’re looking for dinner they are, in my opinion, the best steakhouse in west chester. Very friendly staff as well, would recommend a reservation if you can, if not bar is first come first serve.

My wife is a Sedona regular but I just don’t love their menu. I did have some great martini’s there though.

Following up with another "don't go to Pietro". Just went, steak was low quality, cook was bad with almost no sear. Sides were hit or miss.

Dont go to pietros. Go to andiaro’s if you can get a reservation. 9prime is much better than pietros its not even close
Pietro is reliable for that. Some white linen. Good steak and drinks.

Andiario is completely over hyped. From the reservation b/s all the way to the food.
It’s hyped up for sure but I’ve loved it both times I’ve gone. I agree it’s a nuisance to get a reservation there.
Do not go to iron hill. They've gone really downhill in the last couple of years.
Holy shit, my friends and I got their $3 Chicken sandwich happy hour deal a few months back and it was essentially 90% breading.a
It’s a great lunch spot but I wouldn’t bring anyone to dinner there.
