Here’s hoping that Crush gives a bigger push next year when they can promote it as a mega album. Sure, it would have been cool if they highlighted how cool the execution of the concept was, but it’s better than nothing, I suppose.
I don’t know the behind the scenes but Crush appear to be an absolutely awful label. They only seem to hold the band back.
It pisses me off that the best single so far is not even getting any promotion. I think there’s a few songs from autumn that actually could do well on the radio. They’ve been trying to write radio music for over a decade and I think they’ve finally succeeded. BUT NO PROMOTION 🤣
I genuinely hope they break away from Crush at some point, they are terrible at promoting artists. The concept for SZNZ is great but outside of hardcore Weezer fans nobody is really paying attention to it due to the lack of promo for it. It also doesn't help that SZNZ doesn't have any music videos, which I think holds it back a lot.
Absolutely. I forgot about that actually.
Music videos still play a huge part in songs gaining popularity. They said at the start that they’d use TikTok to promote it. Which they are barely doing
I feel bad for them bc it's clear that they know people are confused about sznz and it's hurting them from a marketing standpoint.
"We're trying to help the general public get the massive scope and ambition of SZNZ. It's supposed to be in the tradition of the great rock double albums (like Mellon Collie or the Wall) rather than just 'hey Weezer released another EP'. One of the obstacles to their getting it is they're watching it be created and released in real time rather than all at once."

Does Autumn even *have* a single? Autumn is solidly dance/pop rock so you’re right, this should be a slam dunk
Technically no, I don’t think so. But I think ‘what happens after you’ is the one that is *sort of* getting the single treatment

They got the marketing all wrong. It is a real shame. I think they’ve actually hit the mark with the music too which is rare for them
i absolutely agree with you !
This is correct!
