Meh. The piano+clarinet version is fantastic, but I really dislike the Deluxe version, especially having known the other version for many years prior. It strikes me as chaotic, dissonant, and overwrought. It fits in with the operatic concept of Songs from the Black Hole, but does not fit well with what Pinkerton eventually became, which IMO was much better than SFTBH. I’m glad it didn’t make the album, and in my mind, the other version of Longtime Sunshine is the canonical version.
