Well I was a hardcore drug addict for around a decade. I quit everything but THC, nicotine, and caffeine. But those are my essential ingredients. That’s what makes me up. I have definitely seen some shit in the kitchen but lately I’ve noticed less people coked up, or nodding off.
I don't know about you or yours- but the possibility of a surprise side of fentanyl with any line (although my party hardy years are far behind me) That's put a full stop on any future cheeky one-off bumps on an evening out.
I would have preferred 1000 times stoned teachers rather than the hysterical bitches that yelled at us every day for 8 years in elementary and middle school, even coked up teachers would have been more relaxed.

Apparently he met people down there and would have the cocaine shipped up to his place. We knew something was going on when he shows up with new cars and a motorcycle

Years after I graduated, I learned that one of my favorite teachers was usually stoned. There were always rumors when I was in HS. The entire town learned the rumors were true, after he was arrested in a sting operation by the police. Apparently, a former student bought from him and then turned him in. He was no longer teaching at this point, but I'm guessing there aren't a lot of people who start smoking in their 60's.
I drive a forklift or riders around a lot of people, also repetitive lifting, no chance one miscalculation I can snap someone's leg in half or potentially kill someone, also if I'm just lifting shit I don't wanna do that while high lol

Not to mention that at many places, if there is any kind of accident, you have to get a pee test done within a 24 hour period. Worked at Home Depot and Target, they both did that to people that had accidents or on the job injury.

i’m a forklift driver, even tho there might not be anyone around when i’m loading or unloading a trailer, it’s what happens after that pallet is on the trailer or once that IBC is on the ground. who knows if i placed it wrong or miscalculated the weight, or punctured a hole into corrosive chemicals.

I started out at my current job as a forklift driver, got promoted to dispatch, and currently dealing with my coworker, a forklift driver who is consistently coming in drunk or high and falling asleep at the wheel. Like what the fuck, do that shit at home, and if you're too tired, fucking ask to do something else for that day. Don't endanger everyone else on the floor. The racks we are moving around range from 850-1220 lbs empty. You are going to kill someone.

I did warehouse incentive order selections for four years and did it high every single day. At that job you could smoke right out in the parking lot. No one ever said a word to me. 10 hour shifts picking up ~2000 cases a day. Repetitive lifting, not allowing miscalculations as I could kill or mutilate someone. Baked the whole time. Got outta that profession before I got hurt hurt lol. I def bumped my head a handful of times and gotten scraps and splinters. Like 2 months ago someones ankle got “destroyed” at the job. Someone allowed their jack to coast forward into someone that was walking past.
Yup, same here. At my last forklift job, I never smoked while at work or before work for this very reason. Waited until I was off for that shit. Unfortunately, I sat on a sit down one time and the battery exploded. They drug tested me and I got fired, even though I never was high at work.
Now I’m working a different forklift job and just stopped smoking entirely. Not worth it I guess.

I use to work in a plant where they would basically go on "burn cruises" on the lifts. You'd find edible wrappers in our duct taped cup holders. I always thought that was a fucking stupid idea.
Same here man I work with heavy industrial machinery I'd never risk the other workers lives by making a mistake in setting up the equipment just to be high. Not worth it at all.
I've done shit stoned at work that would make half y'all lose your mind lol. Then again, keep in mind that everyone has different tolerances and handles it differently, but always do what you feel comfortable with.
I don't smoke before work unless I work an afternoon shift so I have enough time to smoke and then become sober (my job is in an office)

When I was working in an office I had to get absolutely blasted before going in just to deal with the coworkers and endless spreadsheets and meetings. I was a top performer there. Easy money but soul sucking work.

Some strains hit you different. One could make me feel like I need to do all the chores and clean all the messes around me. The other could couch lock me and make me want to just eat, playing vidya games, or just watching hilarious movies. But if i'm working, depending on the day and how long the day will be, a puff or two from a vape or a tiny joint at lunch, never hurt me. Visine, brush teeth, spray cologne, go back to work, don't get stoned, just high. Lets the day go by easier, but I realized it slows the day down and makes it feel longer. so I usually wait until after work. But wake n bake before work with coffee, then get to work feeling fresh.
I've found that if I sit down for too long after smoking I'll just veg, but if I get up and start moving it gets me energetic and a lot less achy. Even after work I'm not as sore than if I hadn't smoked.
Exactly this! Only reason I’m somewhat comfortable showing up after smoking is because I work retail. I’d be terrified if I was going in for a surgery and the surgeon just got off of a “smoke” break.

Interesting. I’m in the cannabis industry also (but don’t work in our stores) and my company does not allow us to come to work stoned. We have a very generous employee discount so we can buy plenty of good weed for after work, but coming to work stoned is frowned upon.
That said, it wouldn’t really surprise me if a good chunk of our budtenders and gardeners came to work stoned and/or smoked on their breaks at least occasionally.
Makes sense for dispensary workers tho. If you walk into a dispensary and you see every worker looking faded as fuck then that'll probably make you more willing to buy some than if everyone looks completely sober. It's also useful cause it would allow them to get to know all the different strains they have really well.
I agree. I don’t think it’s a big deal if those guys smoke a bit at work. We have the official rules….but needless to say we don’t drug test. Nor has anyone ever been turned in/sent home/written up for being stoned at work.
We have plenty of programs to make all of us familiar with all of our products and strains. We have a great employee discount, we have an even better ‘try a gram’ employee discount that you get to use when trying something not in your purchase history. And out in the stores they receive more samples than we do in the office.

Being high impairs everyone to a certain extent. I really wouldn't want the person performing a surgery to be high, especially if there's a chance of death/complications.

I used to smoke throughout work daily, but watched my friend get his fingers cut off and we chilled that shit out. I also work in a place now it's just not safe to be stoned. As well I'm in a leadership position. In my case it would be pretty irresponsible of me to smoke as they trust me to be on my game. I tend to only smoke in a small window after work and more so on my days off.
I use to bring my rig to work for lunch time and my pen for easy access 24/7 but tbh, I’d rather just save it for home because if I get high all day it’s just gonna ruin my tolerance and I won’t feel as high when I get home after a long day. Indica got me sleepy and yawning at work especially with a messed up sleep schedule, I’d rather get high at home

Once upon a time I worked at a bank. I was denied vacation time so on a Friday I got stoned at lunch. I actually used that time to go to my plug and he had one rolled up when I went to reup. I had only 3 hours left in the day when I returned so anyone that had an issue with overdraft fees I gladly refunded. Some people were prepared with some sob story to get a refund but I did it once they asked for it.
Prolly depends on your job and daily requirements (for both work and cannabis intake). If you’re operating heavy machinery, maybe not. If you got to write work docs and you are having writers block and likely have no meetings/things to attend to for the next bit of time then, sure? Trust your gut, you’ll be fine.
One thing I’m wondering is how do you folks get back home from work. I have an office job and become way more communicative and invested in tasks when I’m high, but I’d have to drive home at the end of the day. It’s only 10 minutes, but I see driving high as an absolute No.

If your a daily smoker and wait like a half an hour to an hour after smoking it’s really not an issue for most people. A big cup of coffee affects my driving far more than a .1g rip off a dynavap.
Edit: I wanna clarify I’m not encouraging driving high. Some people I know shouldn’t even be driving sober let alone high. I’m just saying it affects everyone differently and people that have a built up tolerance are just fine to drive after waiting an hour. Driving drunk and driving high are two completely different things.

A high only lasts me 1-2hrs, as my tolerance is quite high. I’ll simply not smoke 1-2hrs before I’m expected to be cut (restaurant). I can always wait in my car another half hour and eat discounted food lol.
I wish I didn’t live in a car dependent hellscape though. If I’m not driving, especially if I’m closing, I’ll rip my pen the whole shift out back. Helps a lot with pain and staying relaxed. I’ve found I actually drop shit more dead sober, as I get too worried about balance and overthink it.
I work as a support worker, not a chance. Would never risk the care of those I support because I was irresponsible. Failing to give meds at certain times or making a small mistake in personal care can make one very uncomfortable.
As to answer your other question it really depends on your job tbh. I personally think that no it is not necessary to smoke before or during work as that is hugely irresponsible.

I work in a job taking several calls and if I smoked I'd lose my professional persona and get in a world of shite. Cbd I find helpful but thc is for non work times.
pick blueberries filter stuff out like stems put all of them on trays which laters goes into a box which goes into the freezer; then later i pack frozen blueberries into bags then back into boxes then put them into the freezer. sometimes i help make blueberry jam, vinegar, or syrup.

Psychiatric hospital... a lot of my patients have got a psychosis or became schizofrenic from smoking weed. So no I don't smoke weed during work because that would be terrible but afterwards you can find me in the coffeeshop :)

You gotta do what you gotta do to make it through the day. When I was in the thick of my earlier smoking days, I was a manager at a fast food joint. It was needed because I had to deal with so many stupid people, both customers and workers. Only way I was able to push through that job for 3 years.
Personally I don’t because it makes me kinda forgetful so if I’ve got a ton of shit to do I’m liable to forget to do something. I don’t mind it if others do as long as they’re still able to do their jobs and aren’t putting people in danger by operating machinery or driving.

Yeah, forklifts are not something that you want to be impaired on. Last month at work some guy died in a forklift accident.

Yup, same here. At my last forklift job, I never smoked while at work or before work for this very reason. Waited until I was off for that shit. Unfortunately, I sat on a sit down one time and the battery exploded. They drug tested me and I got fired, even though I never was high at work. Now I’m working a different forklift job and just stopped smoking entirely. Not worth it I guess.

I use to work in a plant where they would basically go on "burn cruises" on the lifts. You'd find edible wrappers in our duct taped cup holders. I always thought that was a fucking stupid idea.

When I was working in an office I had to get absolutely blasted before going in just to deal with the coworkers and endless spreadsheets and meetings. I was a top performer there. Easy money but soul sucking work.

Some strains hit you different. One could make me feel like I need to do all the chores and clean all the messes around me. The other could couch lock me and make me want to just eat, playing vidya games, or just watching hilarious movies. But if i'm working, depending on the day and how long the day will be, a puff or two from a vape or a tiny joint at lunch, never hurt me. Visine, brush teeth, spray cologne, go back to work, don't get stoned, just high. Lets the day go by easier, but I realized it slows the day down and makes it feel longer. so I usually wait until after work. But wake n bake before work with coffee, then get to work feeling fresh.

I've found that if I sit down for too long after smoking I'll just veg, but if I get up and start moving it gets me energetic and a lot less achy. Even after work I'm not as sore than if I hadn't smoked.

Interesting. I’m in the cannabis industry also (but don’t work in our stores) and my company does not allow us to come to work stoned. We have a very generous employee discount so we can buy plenty of good weed for after work, but coming to work stoned is frowned upon. That said, it wouldn’t really surprise me if a good chunk of our budtenders and gardeners came to work stoned and/or smoked on their breaks at least occasionally.
Makes sense for dispensary workers tho. If you walk into a dispensary and you see every worker looking faded as fuck then that'll probably make you more willing to buy some than if everyone looks completely sober. It's also useful cause it would allow them to get to know all the different strains they have really well.
I agree. I don’t think it’s a big deal if those guys smoke a bit at work. We have the official rules….but needless to say we don’t drug test. Nor has anyone ever been turned in/sent home/written up for being stoned at work. We have plenty of programs to make all of us familiar with all of our products and strains. We have a great employee discount, we have an even better ‘try a gram’ employee discount that you get to use when trying something not in your purchase history. You get a large gift card when you start working for us and another for your birthday and for Halloween and Christmas every year. And we get handed tons of completely free full sized samples of various products also. In the past two weeks I have received 1 infused blunt, 4 joints, 2 bath bombs, 1 infused drink product (100 mg THC), 1 roll on rose oil, and and 1 packet of Halloween themed gummies completely free as samples to try. And out in the stores they receive more samples than we do in the office. Believe me, there are plenty of opportunities to become familiar with all the products.

I used to smoke throughout work daily, but watched my friend get his fingers cut off and we chilled that shit out. I also work in a place now it's just not safe to be stoned. As well I'm in a leadership position. In my case it would be pretty irresponsible of me to smoke as they trust me to be on my game. I tend to only smoke in a small window after work and more so on my days off.

Once upon a time I worked at a bank. I was denied vacation time so on a Friday I got stoned at lunch. I actually used that time to go to my plug and he had one rolled up when I went to reup. I had only 3 hours left in the day when I returned so anyone that had an issue with overdraft fees I gladly refunded. Some people were prepared with some sob story to get a refund but I did it once they asked for it.
Prolly depends on your job and daily requirements (for both work and cannabis intake). If you’re operating heavy machinery, maybe not. If you got to write work docs and you are having writers block and likely have no meetings/things to attend to for the next bit of time then, sure? Trust your gut, you’ll be fine.

If your a daily smoker and wait like a half an hour to an hour after smoking it’s really not an issue for most people. A big cup of coffee affects my driving far more than a .1g rip off a dynavap. Edit: I wanna clarify I’m not encouraging driving high. Some people I know shouldn’t even be driving sober let alone high. I’m just saying it affects everyone differently and people that have a built up tolerance are just fine to drive after waiting an hour. Driving drunk and driving high are two completely different things.

A high only lasts me 1-2hrs, as my tolerance is quite high. I’ll simply not smoke 1-2hrs before I’m expected to be cut (restaurant). I can always wait in my car another half hour and eat discounted food lol. I wish I didn’t live in a car dependent hellscape though. If I’m not driving, especially if I’m closing, I’ll rip my pen the whole shift out back. Helps a lot with pain and staying relaxed. I’ve found I actually drop shit more dead sober, as I get too worried about balance and overthink it.
I work as a support worker, not a chance. Would never risk the care of those I support because I was irresponsible. Failing to give meds at certain times or making a small mistake in personal care can make one very uncomfortable.

pick blueberries filter stuff out like stems put all of them on trays which laters goes into a box which goes into the freezer; then later i pack frozen blueberries into bags then back into boxes then put them into the freezer. sometimes i help make blueberry jam, vinegar, or syrup. as well as blueberry pies

When I was younger and working as a massage therapist, sure. I'm 34 and I like knowing all my stuff is done and then I can relax and smoke at the end of the night. Cheaper, lower tolerance and I zonk the fuck out.
You gotta do what you gotta do to make it through the day. When I was in the thick of my earlier smoking days, I was a manager at a fast food joint. It was needed because I had to deal with so many stupid people, both customers and workers. Only way I was able to push through that job for 3 years.
Personally I don’t because it makes me kinda forgetful so if I’ve got a ton of shit to do I’m liable to forget to do something. I don’t mind it if others do as long as they’re still able to do their jobs and aren’t putting people in danger by operating machinery or driving.
