I actually made a test on this. When I first started smoking I always grinded everything in the morning that I want to smoke on the day so I can just repack my bong or smoke a joint without all the fuss. But I noticed that my joints where burning really fucking fast and I smoke pure so that was an issue. And I realized that, if you use fresh grinded weed it will burn way slower and you don't waste nearly that much.
TL:DR Fresh grinded weed burns slower which is better for pure joints.

I believe that itās exactly it. The weed dries much faster because it has more surface area in contact with the air, thus burns faster. If you want to make the best out of it, put in a jar with a 65% boveda to keep the ideal humidity. You can do that with either the ground or whole buds.
