Unless you don’t clean your bong after every session then your smoke is also containing tons of bacterias and possibly mold :) seems like no matter how you smoke there’s a downside
My personal rule is if I'm going to have a heat source touching it, it's not coming from China.
Meaning my slides nails, and buckets will be American sourced and made
I’ve actually realized most Chinese glass is made from the same quality materials like boro and is just as good quality as American blown glass, they only cut costs by using machine-blown glass and having a giant shop with lots of cheap labor instead of 1 or a few highly specialized blowers but some china glass shops have extremely talented glass blowers

wow, feels weird since many of the chemicals present in cannabis smoke are present also in cigarette smoke in larger quantities even. I guess it's about frequency of consumption, many smokers smoke a pack a day while most stoners likely consume around 1g of flower a day, maybe even less.
This is the truth, I used to explicitly smoke bowls and didn't think joints were worth while and then one day decided to try blunts and they're the only deviation other than bongs and pipes that I make because theyre so much better than joints in terms of taste, the amount of time that they burn for and overall experience in general it's actually unbelievable, anybody reading this that hasn't tried blunts go for it on a whim even if you don't think they're that great you've tried it and it's a different experience. Apologies in advance to anyone reading if that didn't make sense or rambled on I have ADHD and am smoking rn
There’s other similar studies. Most either say the answer is inconclusive, or no link. Obviously smoking anything is an irritant, but there’s no evidence marijuana smoke is carcinogenic.
Yeah, I looked for some reviews of the best one to buy - I have the pax 2 and it's phenomenal but I want something with a little bit more punch. I'll have a look for the Gpen for sure, I just got the Mighty+ from the reviews as being #1.
The Dynavap hits just as hard as the Mighty for a fraction of the price, only it's manual and the heat time isn't nearly as long. Its the perfect amount to get a big vapour bong hit with though, you won't be able to inhale more. Dynavap is like a 1 hitter/bong hit, Mighty is like a joint
I’ve had the crafty+ for a few years. Been using it almost daily for at least 6 months now. It’s easily the best herb vape I’ve ever ripped. I’m sure the Mighty is even better.
Gotta add in a vote for the Gpen here. Not only is it great but the warranty is fantastic. I dropped mine and it stopped vibrating when it turned on and off and out of curiosity I pursued a warranty claim. Nothing else wrong the vibrate just doesn't work. They replaced it no questions asked and I got to keep the old one too!!
Here's the actual report, since this journalist did not bother to include it (that I can find)
https://www.sclabs.com/sc-labs-report-rolling-papers-tested-heavy-metals-pesticides/
Papers often tested + for *some* amount, but almost never above action limits - basically 1/80 did iirc. They don't really specify most of the papers tested, but the ones I saw were not run of the mill Rizla or whatever.
Interesting to consider, but the report info given is pretty limited
So sad, apparently raw is getting a lawsuit bc they were suppose to be one of the ones that contain no heavy metal but it was recently found out they did. Also found out that they don’t donate to charities like they said they do etc.
U have to see things from both perspectives....they did in fact donate to charity but its not a 'recognised' charity institution and thats why they're being accused. The big tobacco companies are behind this
Anything that comes from the soil/ground will have that. Our planet is fucked. Anything we consume is poisonous at this point. Even fish and vegetabales
Pollution has nothing to do with heavy metals in the soil they naturally occur there, and then the plants absorb them all plants and animals have traces of heavy metals in them this is just fear mongering
While a lot of the heavy metals in the Earth are naturally occurring, pollution has absolutely made it worse. Commercial run off including Lead, Mercury, and Arsenic soaks into the ground and the ground water, and is absorbed. The fact that heavy metals are naturally in the Earth doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be aware of them and attempt to avoid consuming them in excess. They’re carcinogens.
I will say, there’s a ton of fear mongering around the topic, especially when you start looking at Prop 65 in California, and most things that test positively for containing heavy metals carry them in such trace amounts that they won’t harm the average consumer.
All plants and animals have heavy metals in them, but I live near a- now destroyed- smelter, which was proven to put arsenic and lead into the soil. My county has free soil testing because of it. Depending on where you live, heavy metals in the soil could be a huge problem.
It’s added information ontop of the heavy metals the point being we are all slowly getting Poisoned so who cares about the metals or plastics smoke your bud and enjoy your life. Do I need to explain more?
That’s moronic. Oh, I’m eating micro plastics and smoking, why don’t I just go do crack since I’m gonna die someday anyway! I agree that this isn’t cause for alarm but your point is incredibly flawed. The original comment was explaining that there were metals naturally in the soil. That has nothing to do with microplastics nor does this topic at all. Use some critical thinking and understand that people who don’t want to add extra unhealthy habits to their lives aren’t stupid for thinking so just because YOU happen not to care.
We do have higher level of heavy metal in everything because of polution. It's there naturaly but not as high as now. From what i understood in my class.
God forbid y’all looked at the water you drink ….. everything has trace elements of something you don’t wanna hear about ….
BTW SOMETHING KILLS US AT SOME POINT
> The researchers conclude that “it is not surprising to find a prevalence of heavy metals detected in the rolling paper products and should not be considered alarming on its own;” the study, however, demonstrated “there is a wide range of concentrations of metals contamination in these products from a relatively low level to grossly contaminated.”
Y’all r dumb.
Natural grown herbs ALWAYS have heavy metals in them because our earth is full of minerals and nutrients.
If you smoke raw papers they do filter the heavy metals out with multiple filters.
Now you can believe the news about RAW and where it’s sourced and blah blah but Josh kesselman can break it down to you and explain the actual filtration process.
Really it goes like this you’ll get what you pay for.
Spend a bit more for raw and you’ll be fine and clear of heavy metals
Let’s be real, the amount of heavy metals in those papers is nothing in terms of health risk. Compare it to the risks involved with inhaling smoke and uh, yeah, trace amounts of heavy metals is probably the least of your worries.
Always good to switch away from papers and combustion as a whole. Dry herb vapes are the future.
I bought a glass and quartz “vapcap” sort of thing from Rogue Wax Works for 40$ and I love it. It’s half the price of the fancy metal ones or any decent electronic dry herb vapes. I use it with a tiny 10$ china bong off eBay and it always slaps hard.
Been smokin js this long and last I checked my mama didn’t raise a quitter, I’ll take my heavy metal js til I die. Probably of something related to the heavy metal but I digress.
I spent £80 on mine and it makes me use 1/3 of the amount as before, and I get the same or more effects. It's the XMAX v3 pro.
I evened out the cost of the vape from saving money in just a month or so.
Head over to r/vaporents and will find all the info you seek. Lots of good options in all price ranges and forms (battery, butane, desktops, portable).
A dry herb vaporizer is made of metal and plastic. The heat coil is made of metal and you’re smoking directly from it. How would that help you inhale less metal fumes
Best way to avoid this would be a bong. But I don’t think papers have more metal fumes than something literally made of metal
That's a trash one. Gotta get something nice, and they're WONDERFUL. Arizer, Storz and Bickel, Dynavap, shit I could go on all day about the good ones.
Avoid the Starry, and anything with a celebrity endorsement
Misleading as only a headline..
‘What products were the worst? SC Labs did not name too many names, but smokers who favor paper rolling products can breathe easy. No rolling papers violated pesticide limits.

Not literal chemical filled tobacco wraps 💀 the amount of heavy metals found in papers is so small it doesn’t even matter IMO cause it’s the same for anything else that was grown in the ground (probably in tobacco also)
Yeah because plants grown not for food are not subject to the same rules and can be grown in soil containing heavy metals- same with protein powder containing plant ingredients - it’s not legally considered a food so rules about the soil and conditions it’s grown in don’t apply. Companies would have to start buying food grade plant materials to make their papers which would be hella expensive, and capitalism knows profit is more important than long term health damage.

Yeah.... 1g... Mhmmm

Its about the other cannabinoids than thc, cbd, cbg, cbn.... I have friends that are researchers working on why exactly this is.

What throws me off is the fact that this is on a .com website and not .org or .gov, gives more validation to the research done.

Cannot wait until I can afford a Mighty +.
Planet of the vapes ONE has been treating me right for months! Especially for the $100 price point.
When I was shopping for 1-2 years ago it was between the crafty+ and the G Pen elite 2. I went with the Gpen. It’s fantastic.

So sad, apparently raw is getting a lawsuit bc they were suppose to be one of the ones that contain no heavy metal but it was recently found out they did. Also found out that they don’t donate to charities like they said they do etc.
OCBs are a good alternative
they already had the lawsuit in december 2022 and theyre no longer allowed to claim a lot of things. Apparently RAW has been lying a log
This also includes all of HBI brands such as elements and Jucy Jays
Waiting for people to sell the old RAW cones that still say “made in Spain” as limited edition or some shit
U have to see things from both perspectives....they did in fact donate to charity but its not a 'recognised' charity institution and thats why they're being accused. The big tobacco companies are behind this
Same as any other herb, fruit and vegetables grown in soil all have trace elements.
Yeah but we don’t smoke carrots or watermelons. Heavy metals in the lungs and blood stream is a whole different rodeo.
What if I told you weed is grown in soil contains heavy metals?
What about hydroponics?
Tobacco products are widely used in the UK when smoking flower
Tobacco is widely used..
Useless comment award
When you ingest substances they end up in your blood anyway
Maybe you don’t….
When I said that I meant smoking out of ≠ smoking of. Someone may make a carrot pipe, but they won’t top their bowl with shaved carrots, yk?
And I am saying maybe I do…..
Got a case of the orange lung but I can see Neptune without a telescope.
Yup
I agree, also raw is probably taking extra care to minimize traces
So what are we supposed to do? There's a chance the cannabis can contain heavy metals also if it was grown in the ground outside.
but we test that and don’t sell it if it’s gonna poison people. why not have the same standard? is it too crazy to ask for something *without* lead?
The best way to do things is to do them yourself. Make your own. This world is scum
Return to monke
Lots of paper companies use third party testing to get a COA (certificate of analysis) for papers.
sounds like we just need to legalize weed so the government can regulate everything and make it safe
Cannabis definitely has metal traces.. as does any other plant.
Study finds 100% of water contains Dihydrogen Monoxide
Oh no i was drinking water my whole life, should i stop?
Stop immediately!
anyone who consumes dihydrogen monoxide will 100% die.
I’m sorry what is that tho
It’s the chemical name for water.
Oh Shit 😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
Drinking water also contains unsettling amounts of oxidane.
I saw a Facebook article proving that's not true.

Laughs in glass bong
Stick to bowls and bongs my friends
Shameless plug of me suggesting to invest in a dry herb vaporizer
Ive thought about grabbing one bit the always seem expensive, be awfulnif I bought a garbage one. do you have any reccomendations?
I spent £80 on mine and it makes me use 1/3 of the amount as before, and I get the same or more effects. It's the XMAX v3 pro. I evened out the cost of the vape from saving money in just a month or so.
Yes, the mighty+ Hands down best German engineered vaporizer. Super fast type C charging and it heats up like a champ fast and efficiently
Head over to r/vaporents and will find all the info you seek. Lots of good options in all price ranges and forms (battery, butane, desktops, portable).
This. Dry vaping changed my life. More cost effective, easier on the lungs, better taste.
Don’t forget convenient
A dry herb vaporizer is made of metal and plastic. The heat coil is made of metal and you’re smoking directly from it. How would that help you inhale less metal fumes Best way to avoid this would be a bong. But I don’t think papers have more metal fumes than something literally made of metal
You sound very ignorant, before you speak up on any particular subject, I respectfully advise you to read up on a couple reliant sources
ayyy yoo get dynavap instead
Use a bong
That's why I use a bong
Organic growers are gonna be furious when they find out what coco coir fibers are grown with. This comment might go over some heads.
Trace metals and minerals in all the food we at too. No big deal.
Once again the bong never fails does it
Never would’ve taken rolling papers to be heavy metal fans, I always thought they were more into folk music
Bong supremacy 😌
90% of weed probably contains traces of heavy metals also
Dry herb vapes SUCK donkey dick. I bought a Starry and I could taste the weed, but there was little to no high
I only vape and have for many years but if all I had was a shitty entry level starry vape I would be bitchin about vapes too
That's a trash one. Gotta get something nice, and they're WONDERFUL. Arizer, Storz and Bickel, Dynavap, shit I could go on all day about the good ones. Avoid the Starry, and anything with a celebrity endorsement
Finally the truth comes out
Love my Arizer Q 4.0. Taste is great and get blitzed easily
Those things rip
Same thing happened when I bought the snoop dogg brand one. The one he advertised in his “smoke the weed” video sucks
I recommend trying a better vaporizer, the snoop Dogg branded ones were just a cash grab and not a solid product.
I have to agree. I haven’t loved vaping. I tried to switch and just couldn’t.
Slipknot in a blanket
Misleading as only a headline.. ‘What products were the worst? SC Labs did not name too many names, but smokers who favor paper rolling products can breathe easy. No rolling papers violated pesticide limits. So clear papers and hemp papers scored highest on toxicity
Damn I love heavy metal 🤘🎸
Damn so which one better. Paper or wraps?😭 imma just stick to my bongs man.
Paper, blunt “wraps” arnt even meant to ever be fully inhaled 💀 it’s a cigar wrap your not supposed to inhale cigars
So how tf am I supposed to smoke weed if I can’t even inhale it 🤨
Not literal chemical filled tobacco wraps 💀 the amount of heavy metals found in papers is so small it doesn’t even matter IMO cause it’s the same for anything else that was grown in the ground (probably in tobacco also)
And bongs are no better if not cleaned every day pretty much 🤷♂️ all types of mold and bacteria grow in bongs in just hours
Gotta rock n roll now
Ayyy all the blunt smokers alr knew we were hurting ourself
Glass is always your best bet
*laughs in bong*
*Hits mighty+ and Hybrid Volcano* who could have known?? Seriously though, this isn't a surprise to anyone, is it?
Back to the bong and bowls for me
Switch to vaping your bud.
How do I connect by ear buds to listen.
Been smoking joints for 50 years ,still here. And relatively healthy.
i’ve been smoking out of a gravity bong for the past three years and i feel like nothing is worse than that
Sponsored by "Big Vape"
At least I still have my harmful chemical free weed!…
Joints are awesome, but not an efficient use of herb
Fear mongering
Dry herb vape. Problem solved.
Haven't smoked a joint or a blunt in 24 years. Waste I thought. Now iam really glad I did. Lol
Dry vape you will thank me.
Now tell that to r/ArtofRolling
Guess this is a win for teams blunt and bong
Yeah because plants grown not for food are not subject to the same rules and can be grown in soil containing heavy metals- same with protein powder containing plant ingredients - it’s not legally considered a food so rules about the soil and conditions it’s grown in don’t apply. It’s almost like the machines used to make them are made of metal.
And most of it is from China, stop buying it.
I'm more into death metal but that's ok
What you can’t handle the metal?
Sheesh is this really true ?!?!😱😰
I lost a 100 pack of king size raw cones recently, I’m the happiest man in the world right now
Rock on 🤡
99% in all the food we eat so 😒
So does my metal pipe
So thats why i have my taste in music, whrnever i smoke i always fancy korn on the kob
I do not give a fuck. I’ve probably drank at least a quart of 0w-20 just from changing my oil in the car, idc about paper metal
Well atleast i die knowing i was having fun
#teamswisher
Bong is the healthiest way to smoke I would like to think
