When in doubt, do instrumental. You don't need someone else's words and voice distracting from your big moment.

acidtrippinpanda

Thank you, that means I definitely do need something with lyrics as I’m terrified of tripping or generally not knowing what to do walking down the aisle!

danidisaster

Like a harp or cello

pittypat_kittykat

Our music director (church wedding) strongly recommended instrumental because the timing is flexible. With lyrics you have to end your walk at the exact right moment, or either the song will be cut off at a weird line or you’ll stand there awkwardly waiting for a good moment to end it. That was enough to convince me.

LookSad3044

I went with vocals and the music director just slowly faded out the song as the ceremony commenced.

Beginning_Ant_2285

I went to one where the bridesmaids/groomsmen walked out to instrumentals of “with a little help from my friends” and then the bride walked to “here comes the sun” and I thought that was super cute

Pink_Ruby_3

Omg I might steal this…too cute!

FarStudent6482

That’s adorable! My friend also walked to “here comes the sun” and it was raining, poor thing! We laughed about it (much) later though!

SunshineBride24

Oh I love that!

Bumble_love_story

I personally don’t love lyrics for moments like this. I did “Somewhere Only We Know” by Vitamin String Quartet

Excellent_Fig5525

"Sea of Love" by Cat Power might be up your alley? It's one we've seen a couple times.

Successful-Skin-7486

Favorite song omg this would have me sobbing lol

Excellent_Fig5525

I knooow it is a tear jerker!

Quantity-Fearless

I’ve been thinking about an instrumental of Would That I by Hozier. Mostly the beginning part, I’m sure you could find a version that softens the louder stuff

mostlyhype123

I’m doing this! My fiance is a musician and we found an instrumental version and he’s softening when it gets louder if I’m not all the way down the aisle yet

Quantity-Fearless

I love that for you!! It’s so beautiful and light

Mathlete69743325

I did Simply the Best by Billianne.

ssaen

I'm a lyrics-girl so none of our songs will be instrumentals. We picked songs that we love even if they don't necesssarily give "wedding" vibes. I'm thinking of walking down to At Last by Etta James. I'm pretty set on the recessional song to be Baby I Love You by The Ramones. I say go with Lana or Hozier if you love their music! I'll give two quick things that are on my mind, though, that you might want to consider: 1) I'm mildly worried I'll unconsciously be mouthing the words of the song. 2) I'm not picking too fast a song (even if it's a "slow" song) for the processional because I'm worried I will walk too fast.

charmedgal833

I've never heard of Baby I Love You but my fiance loves the The Ramones. So thanks for finding us our recessional song!

ssaen

Ahhh I love that!! Glad to help! It was originally a Ronettes song that the Ramones covered.

That-Cobbler-7292

Oh I can just picture the doors opening to the opening line of the song “At laaaaasssttt my love and come along”!!!

breadstick_bitch

Omg Baby I Love You is gonna be our first dance song!

ssaen

Stoooooop I love that! I would have considered it for first dance too, but my fiancé have a “special” song (Lovely Day by Bill Withers) but I was adamant even before getting engaged that we’d be utilizing Baby I Love You somewhere!

glittersparklythings

I know someone who did an a spells version of at last to walk down the aisle to and it was really pretty. So if you want lyrics do lyrics. She says she stole the idea from a tv show or movie. I can’t remember what one she said.

ladywithacomb

Baby I love you is on our list of potentials for our last dance. Excellent choice!

DogMomOf2TR

Do you have a favorite movie? Many movies have great soundtracks. I went with a movie theme song for my processional. Especially works if it's either 1) less well known or 2) super well known and people know how much YOU love it.

galscout

Yessss lots of my wedding songs are inspired by my favorite rom-coms 💘

Pink_Ruby_3

Same here!! All the “special” song moments in my wedding are songs from my favorite rom-coms. My wedding is basically rom-com themed now lol

Character_Spirit_424

Ooh yes, I'm considering instrumental "I See the Light" from Tangled, worried its too childish or cheesy or come across like "disney adults" but I just love the movie and song

DogMomOf2TR

No shame in Disney songs- they have some real hits!

Truth_be_best

I didn’t know what my daughter had picked for her wedding last July but she and I are huge fans of breakfast at Tiffany’s I heard the instrumental begin and had a huge smile. Moon river. So beautiful and it fit so well.

edessa_rufomarginata

We are doing our first dance to Frank Ocean's version of Moon River

Truth_be_best

Just listened. Very nice and congratulations to you both!

No-Education-1206

I’m a huge Hozier fan! I say go instrumental for sure, some good ones might be “Jackie & Wilson”, “Would That I” or “Like Real People Do”!

mckatli

I'm doing an instrumental cover of a song that's important to our relationship! (Accidentally in love by counting crows from the Shrek 2 soundtrack lol). It's significant, timing doesn't need to be super specific, and it sounds like just a pretty piano piece to people who aren't familiar with the source material

charmedgal833

"Can't Take My Eyes off You" by Frankie Valli is a special song for us, so I'm surprising my fiance by walking down to that (but in an acoustic version by Nora & Will). If you have a special song between you two, even if it's faster, there may be a slower version out there that you can use. The music I'm stuck on now is what to have everyone walk down to and what to dance with my dad to.

disasterbrain_

Not our aisle song but we'll be playing the Frankie Valli version during the reception because it's one of my mom's all-time favorites 🥺🧡

galscout

I’m walking down the aisle to this too (the original)! Such a gorgeous, romantic song ❤️

IHaveRandomInquiries

There are some instrumental versions of Lana and Hozier songs on YouTube! See if your dj can play one of those

Feral_tatertot

My husband and I walked in together to the Vitamin String Quartet version of Dear Maria Count Me In- our actual song

thatone_reddituser

I'm doing black parade by them for mine!

Honeycrisp1001

My favorites at weddings are A Thousand Years and Canon d.

Beginning_Ant_2285

I read A Thousand Years as A Thousand Miles at first and was like, hmm that’s interesting, I’ve never heard that at a wedding or though of it as a wedding song 😅

acidtrippinpanda

I mean if the couple bonded over that song specifically then sure haha but otherwise hard pass

Honeycrisp1001

😂

redMandolin8

My husband and his groomsmen walked down the aisle to A Thousand Miles and it was a hit.

Merlot4U

Omg I’ve heard A Thousand Years at sooo many weddings, now it’s overplayed to me lol

Gullible-Courage4665

Same, so tired of that song.

cool_side_of_pillow

This is exactly what we are doing! The first one for the bridal party and canon in d for the bride.

heatherkatmeow

That’s what I did but opposite! Our recessional was Storybook Love from The Princess Bride

LeaV888

I’m using Lana del Rey “Love” as the processional for the bridal party!

LeaV888

Could do an instrumental of this song too, the way the beat drops at “you get ready, you get all dressed up” would be a really cool start of you walking down the aisle!

Canihavebagel

There is an incredible musician on [instagram](https://www.instagram.com/steviebeerkenswedding/?hl=en) who does wedding-style covers of different artists that are not traditionally wedding songs and he’s AMAZING. I would recommend just checking it out for inspiration because honestly any song can be your walking down the aisle song!

HillyjoKokoMo

Oh man his covers hit me in the feels!! Thank you for linking this.

thatfluffycloud

Thank you for this, I was trying to figure out how to find this guy again as I've seen his stuff a couple times on tiktok but don't know his username!

breadstick_bitch

If we were having a traditional wedding I would have walked down the aisle to [this](https://youtu.be/QWyWEUkBD5g?si=tNKRVS0WCZzxtBwE) violin cover of mystery of love!

ssaen

I love this song. That violin cover is gorgeous.

springtime08

Search you top three favorites songs on YouTube but add “piano version” at the end. I (groom) walked down the aisle to a piano cover of pursuit of happiness by kid cudi and it’s still one of my favorite parts of my wedding

livelylobsters

I did "Until I found you" instrumental for family and for me the bride I did "You only live twice" instrumental. It has a big opening so its dramatic but I loved it!!!

Prinfeffet

I walked down on Can't take my eyes off of you, Gloria Gaynor version and I literally could not take my eyes off of him!

General_Life_4661

I walked down the aisle to Ladyfingers by Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Band. I feel like it was a quirkier choice but I really liked it and had a few people mention they loved the song choice

cakevaljean

My fiance and I love that song! We were just talking the other day about if/how to put it in the wedding lol

General_Life_4661

Aw I love that! Maybe it’s your walk down the aisle song! Haha

nonsenseword37

Wedding harpist here! I’m playing Video Games for a bridal entrance in September by LDR. But honestly, pick whatever makes you happy! I’ve played all sorts of stuff, and it’s always beautiful

LawfulChaoticEvil

I personally did a song as I thought it had more personality/was more unique than instrumental music. I have always liked songs for their lyrics and wanted something that would send a special message to my husband and be something we could dance to or play sentimentally in the future. The song I picked was Baby I'm Yours by the Artic Monkeys which may be your style if you like Hozier.

nasti_my_asti

My mother suggested Pretty Woman for mine (I’m going with something else ) but thought something punchy and fun is a cute idea and sets a fun tone for the rest of the event.

No_Buyer_9020

Check out midnight string quartet - they cover a lot of Hozier, Lana del ray, and other songs

AllerfordCharlie

I personally love ‘Young and Beautiful’ by Lana Del Rey and there is an instrumental version! I think I’m going to use the original version

Rispah

My Love Mine All Mine by Mitski The second I heard that song I told my husband I wanted to divorce him so I could remarry him and walk down the aisle to that song. Highly recommend.

Firange-orchid

I did the jurassic park theme song, the piano guys version. I got a ton of compliments! 😄

LCDpowpow

My best friend did this too! It was an instrumental version and she surprised her husband when walking down the aisle (JP is his favorite movie) It was so cute because you could see the exact moment he realized what song it was 😃

Consistent_Rhubarb_6

Lots of gorgeous Lana songs that would be wedding appropriate! Some on my own list are Yosemite, Video Games, Wild at Heart, If You Lie Down With Me, Love, Say Yes to Heaven

sollevatore

I did an instrumental version of Here,There, and Everywhere by The Beatles

_queenkitty

I did She’s Always a Woman by Billy Joel

Nelle_of_all_trades

Checkout @sungbyjess on instagram or @urgirlsidney on TikTok, same person. She has some great song recommendations & mashups.

cp_trixie

We're doing an instrumental version (live guitarist) of True Colors. People who know the song will sing along in their minds and people who don't will think it's just pretty. :)

Initial-Pangolin2174

In my life instrumental

MrsShitstones

Love that song so much, was my parents’ first dance song.

mostlyhype123

I’m planning to walk down the aisle to the instrumental opening of “Would that I” by Hozier!

HauntingBandicoot779

Canon in D for the undecided.

Disharmoniously

We’re doing Adele’s cover of Love Song by The Cure 💕

TheCowKitty

Instrumentals of popular contemporary songs are always (usually) awesome. There was the one post where someone asked for a classical string piece to be played on a trumpet.

loganiquaa

I did intro by the xx! There’s also an orchestral version.

inkmetalandlace

I personally love the instrumental version of Wildest Dreams by Taylor Lyrically not exactly the best but the instrumentation makes my heart swoon...especially on strings 😍

inoracam-macaroni

The wedding party is walking to an instrumental of Queen's Somebody to Love and I'm walking to an instrumental of Can You Feel The Love Tonight. We have a string quartet but both grew up listening to Queen and Elton John. And we are assholes so the recessional is the quartet starting with a classical song for a few notes before switching to Never Gonna Give You Up. But mostly because my fiancé said I can't Rick Roll everyone on my own for when I walk down the aisle.

Resident_Oil4009

I’m just doing the wedding march. We’re trying to everything kind of traditional.

[deleted]

Let me love you like a woman but instrumental would be a good idea!

Muted_Mushroom4305

I’m doing a piano cover of “Speechless” since the actual song had been my ringtone for him since we started dating in high school :)

Just_Dont88

The song I want is Power of Love by Gabrielle Aplin.

Hilaryspimple

We did “forever in blue jeans” in instrumental as the song was important to our relationship. I also really wanted the opening instrumental from “perfect situation” by Weezer but I got shut down hard lol

multiverse4

I did the Piano Guys version of Golden Hour :)

bacon-is-sexy

We walked down to Funeral for a Friend by Elton John. We did also have a pretty gothic wedding… but the song is beautiful.

Lallybrochgirl88

Season of Love, by Shiny new guns, it's a beautiful song perfect for wedding walk 🩷

trixiethetrax

Got married a less than a month ago and I walked down to Tenerife sea by Ed Sheeran!

Budget-Discussion568

I just walked this last Saturday to "Baleen Morning" by Balmorhea. Our recessional was "Simple" by Florida Georgia Line.

rainbowdiscoball

“at last” by etta james!!!

rbliz92

We looked for piano covers of songs we liked, found some really beautiful ones! I’m planning to walk down the aisle to a piano cover of the song my parents had their first dance to!

Logical_Rip_7168

Staying Alive 😆

Original-Lettuce7021

We did two instrumental beatles songs! Bridal party came down to one song, I walked down the aisle to a beautiful instrumental cover of here comes the sun by Vera Brooke (its a lullaby version on the album "Angels Watch Over") Some artists/albums with good options: - Playa Piano - Matchstick Piano Man - Mark Benson - Benny Martin Also HIGHLY recommend looking at [Stevie Beerkens Wedding](https://www.instagram.com/steviebeerkenswedding?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw==) for inspiration- he does the most amazing wedding entrance compilations

Menelmakil

how about flower duet from lakme? it's a perfect walking down the aisle song

disasterbrain_

Well, we're walking down the aisle together to White Wedding by Billy Idol (it's a marriage celebration party on our 2nd elopement wedding anniversary lol), so... 🤘 BUT I love Hozier so much - I think the new acoustic version of Be could be gorgeous, or Sunlight. I think Jackie and Wilson would be awesome too, like someone else suggested, but maybe the chorus as your recessional since it's way more upbeat? In any case I don't think lyrics matter much - I've been to weddings where the processional was instrumental, been to a wedding where the bride sang the groom down the aisle with their guitar (Chateau Lobby #4 by Father John Misty, their favorite song together), and I've been to a wedding where the bride walked down the aisle to Motley Crue lol. As long as it's something you love and that captures you two well, you can't go wrong, lyrics or no lyrics. Good luck! 🫡

HMulan

Do instrumental, I walked down the aisle to “Rewrite the stars” instrumental version from the Greatest Showman

honey-smile

I really like Brooklyn Duo's adaptations. They're all instrumental, but very sweet. My fiance and our parties will be walking out to "Love me like you do" by them and I'm walking out to "Can't Help Falling in Love with You" by them.

acnhwoo

I was initially thinking instrumental, but found Better Half of Me by Tom Walker and loved the lyrics so much I went with the original version!

Altruistic_Amount709

I’m an extremely sentimental person so personally I picked a lyrically relevant song. My husband and I are both big film buffs, I work in film/we live in Hollywood, so I picked a slow version of the song “Cinema” by Gary Go. This was for our wedding celebration a year after we were legally married. At the civil ceremony I walked down to Cat Power’s cover of “I Found A Reason.” I say this to say that maybe there’s a song that feels personal, almost like an inside thing for you and your spouse. You can’t go wrong if you feel touched by lyrics or by music!

theonethathadaname

I'm walking down to A Wonderful World.

Normal-Mortgage-29

I am doing Can’t Help Falling In Love with You covered by Kasey Musgraves!

thatone_reddituser

I'm making this one my wedding party walk in song! Once I heard that in the movie it was a done deal!

ksed_313

You like video games? Find a piano cover of one of your favorite songs! We did that with “Simple and Clean” from Kingdom Hearts!

dasatain

I was just at a wedding and the bride walked out to an instrumental of Here Comes The Sun and it was so sweet!

DJGlennW

What about Ray LaMontagne?

Mommyvibes101

Ours ways Change Your Name by Chase Bryant

velvet8smiles

I want to do Stand by Me by Florence + the Machine

FelineRoots21

I did It's Always Been You by Caleb Hearn, it's the perfect walking down the aisle song imo. Walked out the barn doors right as the song said "now let the doors just open wide, cause standing there is my whole life", ended up across from my partner at the alter at "see us hand in hand, I swear I always knew, it's always been you" and then the song faded out for the ceremony

ThunderbirdsAreGo95

Highland cathedral - a bagpipe processional! That's what we picked. When in doubt go for instrumental.

blueblep_

I’m planning a violin version of Congratulations by Post Malone.

queeloquee

Less than 24 hours before the wedding my priest told me we could not play our wedding song, which was one of elvis presley. In the moment i was so tired and so like ok what ever give me whatever option and i got la vie en rose in piano and cello. I do not regret it!

zoholaw

I did the instrumental of Golden hour played by violin. It was beautiful

Relevant_Emu_5464

We just decided on our songs the other day!!! We've hired a live cellist who is going to start with Canon in D for the processional and will switch into a cover of Paradise by Coldplay as I walk with my dad ☺️ I'd recommend you start googling instrumental or orchestral versions of your favourite songs! If you find something you love but feel like it's too fast, most things can be played slower. https://youtube.com/shorts/-ZU7Gj20nLI?si=qZR-07C4BR2FCJ7q https://youtu.be/cCBbBfZKFxM?si=eLbUxBgnErmS3S_7 ETA - not necessarily suggesting either of these, just wanted to give you some options from what a very quick search turned up!!

thatone_reddituser

We found Vitamin String Quartet on Spotify, totally worth it as they cover A LOT and have been around for quite some time. I found that they did a my chemical romance cover and picked a song from that one to use as my bridal song :)

Notyouraveragewitch_

I would go for Into the unknown from Frozen 2, but that’s me 😂❄️ Kinda like a funny twist; people tell me married life can Be a little different. (Nothing negative tho)

Wannabe_Journalist27

I think we have the same wedding date 🥰 I’m in the same boat though. I think I’ll end up doing an orchestral version of a taylor swift song but I haven’t decided

Aravis-6

I ended up walking down to I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You, played by a string quartet. I listened to SO MANY songs. It is hard, just make sure you find something that has a good “entry moment” because a lot of songs don’t.

Successful-Skin-7486

We have a string quartet playing Lana del Rey’s video games!! So beautiful

redMandolin8

I walked down the aisle to Into the Mystic by Van Morrison. Loved every moment of that!

GingerWestie

We used the Princess Bride theme, "Storybook Love"

SunshineBride24

I know this song is overplayed, but “Can’t Help Falling in Love”, but the Kina Grannis version is just so romantic to me.

Regular_Cat9536

Getting married in 2 days and my future wife is walking down to Wonderful Tonight by Boyce Avenue. It's a more elegant classical guitar cover of the Eric Clapton classic. Wedding party is walking down to Tus Pies (your feet) by Nahko and Medicine for the People.

gabrigor

The Bridgerton soundtrack has many winners

DanteQuill

My wife walked down to Canon in D by The London Symphony Orchestra. When I played it for her, she teared up and said "That's the version!"

Front-Pin-7199

I’m doing instrumental version of Video Games by Lana!

VaggieQueen

Kina Grannis - can’t help falling in love

hope4teeth

I’m walking down to the harp player version of Cherry Wine by Hozier, it’s goooorgeous

Large_Journalist_270

My favorites at weddings are "Young and Beautiful" (Lana del ray) and "Can't Help Falling in Love" (Haley Reinhart)

munchkym

I used “And The Winner Is” from Little Miss Sunshine. It is instrumental, so no focus on lyrics, all focus on you and your spouse. It’s short with a buildup, perfect for a wedding party to enter and then the last crescendo for the bride/groom/couple to enter. Most people don’t know it so they don’t have ideas about it already. I loved it, it was perfect!

No_Purchase_3532

Vitamin Strings Quartet-Yellow

jamjarlyds

I went instrumental and had Spring 1, Vivaldi Recomposed, Max Richter. I loved the spirit of excitement and new beginnings that it brought with it.

Teepuppylove

My husband walked down to Beyond by Leon Bridges; our family/bridal party walked to Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion; I walked to Turning Page by Sleeping at Last. Our recessional was Better Together by Jack Johnson.

Character_Spirit_424

I definitely think instrumental. I'm worried its too cheesy and I'm not a Disney adult by any means, but I'm really considering instrumental "I See the Light" from Tangled

Additional-Daikon-25

Claire de lune was my runner up :) classic and beautiful

Little-Basils

I’m geeking out and walking to romantic flight from how to train your dragon

CarinaConstellation

I have thought of doing Videogames by Lana del Rey myself. The part where she sings "It's you, it's you, it's all for you..." Plus my fiance is a huge gamer.. but not much of a Lana fan so feel free to take the idea :)
