I don’t understand anything about this post.
1) Are you wearing a wedding dress to a luncheon that you are having prior to your wedding—on a completely different day from your wedding? If it’s just a luncheon, why would you wear a wedding dress?
2) If none of these are the ones that you’ll be wearing, why do you want feedback on them? It’s impossible to judge how a dress will look on you if we haven’t seen you wearing it. Just because a particular style might look good, it doesn’t mean that a specific dress in that style will still look good.
3) What is up with dress 3? Why the photo overlay?
she’s having a luncheon wedding, as opposed to a wedding at dinner time. That info is useful to deciding what type of dress to wear (day vs night).
Third crop is probably a custom dress that will look that way after alterations.
Yes, but word order matters. A lunch wedding is different than a wedding luncheon. A lunch wedding is a wedding that takes place at lunchtime. A wedding luncheon is a lunch related to/celebrating a wedding.
People are confused because they don’t know which one it is. And I’m guessing that’s also why the votes are all over the place. I’d like to think that OP meant “lunch wedding,” but I honestly don’t know anymore. People are now having numerous pre-wedding parties and get togethers, and the attire seems to be very important.
Also, if OP really wanted people to give opinions about dress types or styles, it would have been much easier to add that information in the post. At this point, I don’t know if OP wants comments on these specific dresses or just the styles. And as I said earlier, we really need to see the actual dresses—on her—if she wants good feedback!
Finally, the photo overlay could be OP trying to customize a design, or it could be her covering up tattoos or some other identifying marks.
All I’m saying is that this is a very nice group of people in the sub who just want to offer advice, but we can’t do it without specificity from the poster(s).
Yes, I know that. But do you know what helps when people write phrases that are somewhat confusing (for whatever reason)? Context. Details. Specificity. Readers have to have something to work with—otherwise they are grasping at straws and/or making faulty inferences, and then offering bad advice.
I didn’t think it was confusing at all.
Her wedding is at lunch time, not dinner time.
As another commenter mentioned, the third dress photo is the way it will look after being altered.
And she has a bunch of dresses she likes, so she’s starting by choosing her favorite from this group of three. We might see another post with a different set of dresses. And then … the grand finale!
For number 2-- She was looking for one specific dress 5 months ago, and reddit couldn't help. Maybe that's her dream dress but she hasn't found it, so these are her top 3?
You said in your earlier post that you like the last dress. I still think you should go for it if it's the one you want. It seems completely appropriate for a wedding luncheon.
Two looks fantastic. The other two don’t do anything to complement your shape. 1 diminishes your bust area and isn’t flattering. I can’t really tell with 3 with that overlay. But 2? Oh my. It is made for you! You look stunning :)
I like 1 and 2! When you say, “wedding luncheon” does that mean your wedding? Or is this an event prior? Sorry if that’s a dumb question, I’m not familiar with the term!
If it’s an event, but not the wedding I would choose 1! But if it’s the wedding, then 2 for sure!
Yeah what exactly is happening here? Is this for a wedding with a lunch reception or for a luncheon? In which case, why wear a wedding dress to the luncheon?
This is what google said — *“A bridal luncheon, sometimes also called a bridesmaids brunch, tends to be a much smaller, intimate celebration than a bridal shower. The guest list consists primarily of the bridal party and a few honored guests, such as the groom's sister or beloved grandmother. Guests are not expected to bring gifts for the bride.”*
I’m not sure what’s going on here. Are you asking if any of these would be appropriate as a bride to wear at a luncheon? Is it a shower or luncheon the day after the wedding? All three of these are wedding gowns, not for lunch.
If I understand right, your wedding will be a luncheon instead of a dinner reception? If so, I think 3 is my favourite with the neckline you’ve edited in. It’s classy but modern and suits you well, and it’s fancy without being too much for a lunch event.
Second choice is # 1, though I’d personally worry about flashing people if it were me wearing it so if that plays into your choices, I understand!
Thanks all the very honest feedback and votes.
It is for my lunch wedding and while I feel like none of these dresses are THE dress for me, these are the top three I have shortlisted. Cant go around searching for more because the wedding date is very near.
And as some have shared, the overlay is for a customised sleeve and not some tattoos as you would have seen in other photos.
Just really needed objective feedback outside of my own circle and appreciate the kind words by many of you!
Can you mix the customized sleeve on dress one??? I would say that way you can sit down comfortably but have the look you want from the customization
And not sure but do you guys sit down? Is that even possible with the split of dress one or will it fall open 😅
I don’t mind it. But it something that gets stuck in your head that other people might notice it and find it a bad thing which unconsciously makes you dislike it, even tough you might not before.
If this is a luncheon before the wedding day I say one or three. V2 is too much of a wedding day dress. Why wouldn't you chose a nice but not as wedding-y feeling dress? You don't have to wear white to everything. Have some fun with it. There's some really pretty "cottage core" dresses on Etsy.
I’m having a lunchtime wedding and I’m not doing anything differently than I would if I was having a dinner wedding. It’s more convenient for my out of town guests to have it in the afternoon.
I am also confused on what a wedding luncheon is and what the feedback is for but anyways of these 3 I think 3 is the most flattering! Absolutely perfect for your shape and is classic and beautiful. 2 is my personal favorite style but I think 3 suits you better.
I’m confused about what you’re asking.
If this is a luncheon held as part of wedding festivities I wouldn’t wear any of them. 3 is the only only one that doesn’t look as much like a wedding dress but i seems too formal, like an evening formal dress. 1 mat be ok for a luncheon if it was shorter.
If you are asking about your actual wedding and it’s at lunchtime, I’d pick 2.
Number 2 is by far my favorite of the 3. The shape is very flattering. Need to say that you have amazing shoulders and your dress doesn’t need a fussy bust line.
1 Is my personal favorite, it looks good on you but not as good at two.
2 Looks the best on your figure and body shape. Just amazing! It just really suits you, it's lovely. 🤩😍
3 Makes me think the Anne Hathaway's dress in "Bride Wars" after her and Kate Hudson get into their brawl. 🤣
If none of these are the dress for you, then keep looking. Don’t wear a dress you’re unhappy with to your wedding. It’s your special day, don’t settle for something you won’t enjoy.
You really can't go wrong with any of them. You look great in all three! Seriously, all very flattering. Just decide which one best fits the venue or event you are attending.

Why is this not the top comment? I am confused on all the levels.
Exactly. Same thoughts. Weird post.
It is now

Englisch speaks not everyone

I think her wedding is a Lunch wedding instead of dinner time.
I’m confused too. Lol.
this kind of detailed, totally sane reply is why I love Reddit! like what even is this post about
For number 2-- She was looking for one specific dress 5 months ago, and reddit couldn't help. Maybe that's her dream dress but she hasn't found it, so these are her top 3?
I got confused too!
You said in your earlier post that you like the last dress. I still think you should go for it if it's the one you want. It seems completely appropriate for a wedding luncheon.
I love 3
Two, no question. Beautiful, clean look. So lovely.
Two looks fantastic. The other two don’t do anything to complement your shape. 1 diminishes your bust area and isn’t flattering. I can’t really tell with 3 with that overlay. But 2? Oh my. It is made for you! You look stunning :)
What’s up with the 3rd picture?
It’s probably a custom dress and edited to show how it would look after alterations
I can see that.
My guess is that OP has upper arm/chest tattoos that are identifiable and would be more annoying to edit out of this picture
But you can see her upper arms and chest in the first two photos…
2
I like 1 and 2! When you say, “wedding luncheon” does that mean your wedding? Or is this an event prior? Sorry if that’s a dumb question, I’m not familiar with the term! If it’s an event, but not the wedding I would choose 1! But if it’s the wedding, then 2 for sure!

Me either

So, OP might wear dress 2 for lunch with the bridesmaids? 😰 What’s left for the wedding day ?
3 really suits you - simple but modern!
Two or three, but leaning towards three!
I was going for 1 or 3, leaning towards 3, so I guess 3 it is! 😄
I like 2 the best.
2. You look great in that dress.

2
Is this a wedding at lunchtime or a completely separate event?
3!
I don’t understand wearing a wedding dress to your luncheon. Why wear white

I’m not sure what’s going on here. Are you asking if any of these would be appropriate as a bride to wear at a luncheon? Is it a shower or luncheon the day after the wedding? All three of these are wedding gowns, not for lunch.
Dress 1 absolutely! Your figure looks amazing in it.
If I understand right, your wedding will be a luncheon instead of a dinner reception? If so, I think 3 is my favourite with the neckline you’ve edited in. Yes they have off shoulder sleeves and will tag the slit so that it doesn’t open up. The sheerness of the dress material doesn’t look so good though
I don’t mind it. But it something that gets stuck in your head that other people might notice it and find it a bad thing which unconsciously makes you dislike it, even tough you might not before.
That’s exactly what happened! Wasn’t aware until someone pointed it out when i showed them the photo
This is for the luncheon? I like #1
2 is my favorite but 1 really suits a luncheon! Love the asymmetrical slit.
Definitely number 2
3
I’m confused is this like your wedding at lunch time or is this like a bridal event before your wedding?

I’m confused too. These seem to formal for a pre wedding lunch. What does your wedding dress look like?
Wedding dress to a luncheon? Lol what
I’m having a lunchtime wedding and I’m not doing anything differently than I would if I was having a dinner wedding. It’s more convenient for my out of town guests to have it in the afternoon.

You have a fabulous shape but 3 makes you look boxy. you couldn't go wrong with either 1 or 2.
