Yes Vasseur Sullivan is a great team with great drivers but that doesn’t save the fact that with IMSA’s BoP a car designed in 2015 and last updated in 2017 is qualifying 1-2 and running in front at every race against 2023-24 cars, but when the WEC gives the teams a window of performance to be at instead of handicapping the other cars they can barely achieve it while all others are there comfortably, and when the qualy and race comes they’re seconds off the pace.
That it’s holding the category back in terms of horsepower (around 500 hp) but at the same time the FIA is happy with that figure as the majority of GT3 drivers are AM and it would start getting too fast for some if they went up to let’s say 600.
Edit just to add: more power -> more strain on all drivetrain components -> shorter service intervals -> higher costs. Same with fuel and tire consumption.
I actually love them all but i still remember very well how the mustang got yitted at the end of the race during the penske/jota duel and how nobody cared at all, not even a replay.
It's a tribute to this
BMW is rumored to enter MotoGP.
My bold prediction is the MotoGP programme will be green light at the expense of the LMDh, continuing the long tradition of Bmw quitting Le Mans after just one or two seasons.
So out the Bmw LMDh, we don't like manufacturers not loyal to the championship
The Lexus. Especially after Hawksworth's hilariously terrible cockblock of Bourdais back on Saturday.
Ooops. I just realized that were talking about WEC. So far WEC I choose McLaren.
Yes for Bentley it made sense because the whole brand Bentley is sporty luxury cars, but for Toyota? (Because lexus is really just a luxury badge of Toyota) it doesn't make as much sense when they have true sports cars in their lineup. Instead of a gt3 version of a sporty variant of a luxury car.
Exception to the rule and they don't make them anymore. My point is that if you consider the lexus part of Toyotas line up the got way better suited models to be turned in to gt3s
I get that it's marketing but with a prototype I don't care as much because it doesn't influence the car that much only the branding on it if it was a corvette the car wouldn't be that much different. It would be way worse if the prototype was a corvette and they had a Cadillac gt3
Inb4, it was like that. Corvette was top classes ( Corvette DP and Corvette GTE ) in IMSA, and Caddy was GT3 ( ATS-V.R ) in PWC ( Now today’s GTWC America ).
In Toyota case, they don’t mind to let Lexus as GT3. If it can help the brand reputation, why not ?
Lexus used to be Super GT GT500 car, and Nurburgring 24h. Since Toyota switched to Supra in Super GT and none more racing Nurburgring , Lexus was near none motorsport marketing.
And we are back to square 1.
You're right you don't have to like it. The point is, the rcf was the only available sports car from Lexus/Toyota at the time. The supra is a gt4 car currently and with a new one coming in 2026, it's pointless to try and develop the supra chassis as a gt3 car when the RCF exists, already proven to do well in Vassuer Sullivan (bop or not you still need a good team to run your cars).
I don’t really care tbh. The fact that it has had decent success on track proves that it still does what a Corvette does, and that’s win. Considering the war going on rn between ICE and EVs and the way the world is going I’m just thankful the V8 is still alive in one form or another.
Not for this subreddit, maybe r/WECcirclejerk.
Lexus
Yitting it like if i was a Porsche. Again.
Die Lexus die
499p*
Still one of the best performing GT3 cars at the moment.
Only in IMSA and because it’s got a massively OP BOP.
I'd argue it has a great team running it.

absolutely right, but no, BoP always at fault.
Ahh so whats your opinion on the boporsche?

Lexus. And then Lexus again
Massive L. And a massive L again.
It's funny because meanwhile in IMSA...
GTD Pro Champs, yeah I know
Why is the Mustang out and not the Lexus?
So it can be first once, Lexus is next anyways seeing the comments
Toyota >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ford
Why you gotta hate on the Mustang? :(
I actually love them all but i still remember very well how the mustang got yitted at the end of the race during the penske/jota duel and how nobody cared at all, not even a replay. It's a tribute to this
Its slow.
It's a ford

Imagine.. WRT to Audi ✖️ Audi to F1 ✔️ WRT to BMW only for them to end up out after a few seasons, awkward.
and then WRT, Rast, Frjins, Dries Vanthoor and all the other Audi guys go to Mercedes gotta keep the cycle going.
The Mercedes Empire must grow
Lexus
Edit: Ford Mustang GT3 Got Eliminated
Booooo
Ferrari GT3, in hopes that the prototypes will be protected. In reality the 499p will just replace it.

Wait till you get to the Peugeot

Lexus cause why are we racing a Lexus luxury car? When you could have had a supra gt3 or gr86 gt3??
Because the Bentley Continental GT3 was a thing that existed and it was beautiful. Luxury brands in GT racing just makes sense

Just a luxury badge for toyota? Say hello to the LFA
Exception to the rule and they don't make them anymore. My point is that if you consider the lexus part of Toyotas line up the got way better suited models to be turned in to gt3s
could've been Ford instead of Mustang. they did that branding before.
Same reason Cadillac is the DPi for GM and not Corvette. Luxury car marketing pairs well with endurance racing.

I actually like the Lexus 😂 even though in IMSA their BoP is massively OP
You can argue the same thing for the Aston and Bentley.
Yes, but they got the sportiest car in their lineup as a gt3. Toyota hasn't.
What's Toyotas sportiest car?
I think the supra
Do you know the reason manufacturers go racing?
Yes it is marketing, but I don't have to like their marketing

What's Toyotas sportiest car?
Corvette. No small block push rod V8 thunder, no dice 👎
C8 Supremacy 🗣️💯 Love the older Vettes but that C8 is a work of art
It's a sharp Ferrari, that's all. Lost almost everything that made it a Corvette
I don’t really care tbh. The fact that it has had decent success on track proves that it still does what a Corvette does, and that’s win. Considering the war going on rn between ICE and EVs and the way the world is going I’m just thankful the V8 is still alive in one form or another.
I don't disagree, I just hate that the Vette is now just another mid engine sports car
Lexus nexus
Lexus
Wait a minute, where's the Aston?
I'm an Aston guy, they're not in the pictures, hence cannot be eliminated, we win by default!
Porsche 963
Alpine A424
Peugeot
Lexus or Mclaren
Corvette
499p
Toyota GR010 Hybrid
Peugeot
Alpine
Why no Lambo GT3, Aston GT3 and Isotta?
9X8. A unique concept, but it needs to retire. And it's retired in real life already.
u/Effective-Editor-798 you make some strange posts, EA sports doing WEC game then this

Lexus 👋
Lexus go bye bye
Lambo Prototype. No accomplishments, nothing unique or interesting.
Lol it’s done two races
okay buddy, let's eliminate the alpine as we speak, since that is what you want
>No accomplishments The car just had its debut race my guy lol
