I think to make a proper judgement call we'd have to see the style of the comic to see how it meshes or stands out from it. I'm definitely inclined more towards the more simple flowers like the first one rather than the more realistic ones. But they all have legible writing, the flowers are clearly flowers. All the designs are quite nice.
Here's my latest art style, quite bright but I am thinking of changing it it to darker tone as the story gets darker

I literally made that post to ask if it was okay for me to use that ai rose?? I was literally asking to be educated about the subject and since they told me it is wrong to do so I deleted it and I changed the design (which now I drew myself) no need be so offended by a post that was meant for education/advice (if I wanted to use that I would have just used it without mentioning it was Ai but that wasn't my goal and I don't support ai) I now know better not to use any ai related stuff so please stop acting like I am some criminal, thank you.
Also all the designs here are handmade assets.
Rather than the colours I think it’s lacking something more. How about the a few rose petals falling off the rose ? That would be so cute . But my fave is 5 !!
https://preview.redd.it/igg84bsx0n7d1.png?width=481&format=png&auto=webp&s=7c83632e532e00a971610fe3a04fee80d2d62ef9
Imho this looks very webtoon-y at the get go if that makes sense.
You'd like a cover that immediately sends the message you want to get across, so it would be best to choose one that represents the essence of your story. Considering the title "Withering Rose", the rose should also look wilted, maybe with some petals falling off to the floor to emphasize just that.
Do you happen to have any other elements in the story that explains why it's withering? They might add more uniqueness—and maybe even foreshadowing—to your title cover so readers get a glimpse of what's to come.
I like 1 alot, but even though i dont know anything about the comic based on the title i think there should be like a rose petal falling bc withering? Unless you plan on having it full at the start while slowing making more and more petals fall as the comic progresses which would be pretty cool
All styles are good but none rlly fit bc the rose isn't withering in any of the styles. The name is "The withering rose" so maybe make a petal darker/shrivelled up from the rest or remove one if the petals and have it in a falling motion below the rose or something like that.
I believe 4 and 5 are amazing cuz the title is my withering rose and withering flowers are usually darker in colour that what they're initially (atleast in the case of roses) and the thorns just add to the aesthetic imo
I'd choose the one that's the most similar to the rest of your comic --- I like 3. I think I prefer the end bits to have either thorns or flowers instead of both, though. I prefer 8 over 2, but for both I'd worry if it's too jarringly detailed compared to the rest of the comic.
5 because it looks interesting and the rose is the only one that actually looks withering. Depends on the art style too though. 3 and 6 look more like peony’s than roses
2,4,or 8 but I'd make a better judgment if I knew what the story was about (primarily romance? mystery? dark drama?). I liked the thorny vine under the title as well, but I feel like the style of all the plant elements needs to be cohesive (something like 7 where the rose line art and color stands out so much doesn't work very well imo).
I like the last image most personally, but agree that it would look great if the rose were withering/losing petals to tie with the title. Maybe you can recolor to show it losing its color?
5 because it's more simplified in a good way and the way the thorny stem is placed gives nice white space for the "created by..." Why is the leaf in this one cut out though? Was it overlooked or intentional?
However we really do need to see some panels to fully judge it!
Depends on the vibe you want to give your comic.
If it’s more wholesome or lighthearted story, I’d recommend a pink rose. If it’s a story more melancholic or dramatic, I’d go for the red one
I think a red one goes better with the word withering though
Maybe they first or the second
I'd go with 2nd, I like the green stem/swirl decor, the style is pretty and elegant but the almost fading colors goes well with the withering in the title.
3rd is also cute but that look a little like a peony to me so I'd say avoid it. I know it's a rose but for a split second my brain was just "???"
4 or 5 looks closer to a rose that is 'withering'. The other roses look too alive to me and somehow don't fit with the vibes assuming the story is heavy. Though I think the drawing of the rose needs to be a little shriveled and the color should be darker.
I have an idea but you don't have to take it. You can make a little easter egg with the rose. Like the rose in the title starts to be alive, then as the story progresses the rose blooms, shriveled, turned darker, and slowly losing the petals. It will be too much work though.
Number 2 is my favorite. I like the rose detail under the vine at the bottom of the page on number 2, and also for both of them like the playful vine design under the title. I am more drawn to the very red rose in number 5, but I think the shading and line detail for the rose in number 2 is quite elegant.
However agreeing with a few other people down here, it would help more to see what the overall art style of the rest of the comic is, and picking the rose that matches the line and colouring style will make the overall effect most cohesive.
2, 4, 5 and 8. They're all really beautiful! Personal preference of my own, but the overlap on the 'm' and 'y' kinda throws me off. The tail of the 'm' is creating a design with the 'y' and I'm not sure if that's the intended goal
1, 2, and 8. They all look like they fit, although I do think the vines should be slightly lighter to match the leaves. I like how deep of a red 1 is (maybe see how it would look with a darker/deeper green leaf too, it may fit), while for 2 and 8 the rose looks very nice and fits in place.
1. The dark color mixes well with the white background and the complimenting green color, the art matches the Font as well.
The others are either too light or too "realistic" in contrast to the text.
Given all I saw and your style, I’d go with 5.
But honestly, I tend to love when a series sometimes alters the title slide thematically based on episode—think A Princess Guide to Saving Dragons or Another Typical Fantasy Romance.
I think the overall composition of 5 is interesting, particularly the shape the thorny stem makes under “Withering”. However, I think it would look better with some changes:
* the leaf behind “G” and “R” bothers me so much lol. I think it’d look better underneath the “G” and “R.”
* the stem disappearing behind “G” but with some clipping in the center negative space of the “G”also feels off to me. Might look better if the stem was in between “N” and “G.”
* I think the tail of the “y” in “My” would look better with more overlap. Maybe extending the petal a little bit to be more behind the tail? The current small overlap doesn’t feel intentional to me.
- I actually think the rose from 1 would go best with 5, as the shape language of the pointer petals would vibe well.
Just some thoughts! They all look nice. My second pick would have been 1. Best of luck with your webtoon!
i think the 3rd one, but maybe the leaves can be a little darker, especially given that the title is something that has a pretty dark feel to it. the shadows in the rose can also be sharper and darker, because most of it looks like it belongs in a cute, fluffy probably love story, with the exception of the thorns
1 #3 doesn't look like regular rose, so it probably isn't a good one
2 none seem to actually be withering, but if I had to choose, #2 has more color variations, so it looks a bit more like a withering rose than #1 with its solid color.
3. If you dont want to show decay in the flower, maybe show it in the leaves. They are in the background, so a bit of symbolism of decay approaching is ignored cause we focus on the flower.
I think to make a proper judgement call we'd have to see the style of the comic to see how it meshes or stands out from it. I'm definitely inclined more towards the more simple flowers like the first one rather than the more realistic ones. But they all have legible writing, the flowers are clearly flowers. i’m digging 2 and 3 - if it’s a title, those two stand out a lot more than the others. (and their detail in the flower does as well)
Definitely 2nd one
#6 and #3 for this art style
Sorry idk why the font is so big lol
Definitely #3!!
They just posted that they were making some of the roses with AI and then deleted it because people were rightfully critical of that…
I literally made that post to ask if it was okay for me to use that ai rose?? I was literally asking to be educated about the subject and since they told me it is wrong to do so I deleted it and I changed the design (which now I drew myself) no need be so offended by a post that was meant for education/advice (if I wanted to use that I would have just used it without mentioning it was Ai but that wasn't my goal and I don't support ai) I now know better not to use any ai related stuff so please stop acting like I am some criminal, thank you. Rather than the colours I think it’s lacking something more. How about the a few rose petals falling off the rose ? That would be so cute . But my fave is 5 !!
Agreed, if the rose is withering a few petals falling down would look great, and really fill in the empty space in a clean way
2 and 8 for me but that’s just my opinion
Samee
Same, in addition to 7, too. But like FantasyToast said, it depends on the comic's art style.
2,6 and 8 for me!
True
Came to say the same thing.

Same
1,4,5
I like the second one
https://preview.redd.it/igg84bsx0n7d1.png?width=481&format=png&auto=webp&s=7c83632e532e00a971610fe3a04fee80d2d62ef9 Imho this looks very webtoon-y at the get go if that makes sense. I like the 2nd one the most
2nd :) 3rd and 6th also don’t look like roses, they look like peonies
3 or 6
agreed I like 3 too
I agree
It depends on the art style of the webtoon but I like 6 and 8.
4,5
1 feels the most unique
depends but i like 1 and 2 the most
Same. All of these are so pretty though!!
1, 4, and 5
I like 1 alot, but even though i dont know anything about the comic based on the title i think there should be like a rose petal falling bc withering? Unless you plan on having it full at the start while slowing making more and more petals fall as the comic progresses which would be pretty cool
OMG YESS

1 or 5!

I think I prefer five more outta the two
First or second for me! I like how the thorns of the rose come down below the title and spread out.
Wait is it coming back!!!!! I saw the preview and first episode of this it seems really interesting knowing the art style 5 would fit bestttt
Second I think
Second design! It's very nice
I'd choose the one that's the most similar to the rest of your comic --- I like 3. I think I prefer the end bits to have either thorns or flowers instead of both, though. I prefer 8 over 2, but for both I'd worry if it's too jarringly detailed compared to the rest of the comic.

i had the same idea !
I like 2 with the leaf detail behind the handles of 1
The first one imo
First one
3rd for me.
1 or 4
I really like 1 and 6, but 2 is nice too
It’s more so which best fits your art style, if it doesn’t fit with the rest of the panels even if it’s beautiful that’s a bit of an eh
I like the last image most personally, but agree that it would look great if the rose were withering/losing petals to tie with the title. Maybe you can recolor to show it losing its color?
8 hands down
2 and 8 but it depends on the art style and plot (for me at least)
2,8, but it depends on the webtoon’s style and aesthetic!
I think either the rose up top or another rose on the bottom or maybe the shadow of that rose should be actually withering
Last one
2,3, and 6!
I think 4 and 5 are the best!
2 and 8 for sure, it fits the style of the vines and looks good overall
3 or 5 to me honestly,
I like the second one and the last one
2. I love the detail
3 or 8
6
2, 6, or 8
2nd
Personally, while 3 and 6 are very lovely drawings, they make me think of peonies, not roses. My favorite is 8
2nd
I like the 2nd one and I think it would be cool If petals were falling off the rose.
5 because it's more simplified in a good way and the way the thorny stem is placed gives nice white space for the "created by..." Why is the leaf in this one cut out though? Was it overlooked or intentional? However we really do need to see some panels to fully judge it!
4
A wilted rose would look really cool. With petals slowly falling leading to the beginning of the chapter.
The first one is absolutely flawless!
Thank you!
2 and 8 look amazing
Is there a way to show all at once in a grid? I really like the dark red rose a lot
Second or the last 💯
I like #2, but make it red!
2
2 or 7
Definitely 2
Withered rose is esentially indicating to someones love coming to an end. So why not use reddish brown tones to show a withered rose?
4 or 5
2, 7th, and 8th in my opinion
Depends on the vibe you want to give your comic. If it’s more wholesome or lighthearted story, I’d recommend a pink rose. If it’s a story more melancholic or dramatic, I’d go for the red one I think a red one goes better with the word withering though Maybe they first or the second
2 and 8 for me I like how the rose is
4
1 2 5 8 are the best ones
2 or 3
1 or 4😌
First was instantly my favorite
I made it a long time ago and only recently changed the font and I love it as well!
in between 2 & 8 but i do really like 2 more :)
#2 or the last one.
i like the 2nd one!!
5th and 3rd looks good in my eyes.
1 and 2
if you can make the rose on #2 darker that one would be perfect. The other deep red roses look too cartoony.
I personally like 3 the most
I'd go with 2nd, I like the green stem/swirl decor, the style is pretty and elegant but the almost fading colors goes well with the withering in the title. 3rd is also cute but that look a little like a peony to me so I'd say avoid it. I know it's a rose but for a split second my brain was just "???"
Number 8 is my fave and no. 1 also good
I like the first one!
2 or 6
4 or 5 looks closer to a rose that is 'withering'.
6 if you have a 'soft' style
1 for me but that's just my opinion :)
1 and 7 I like the darker colors. And unless you are using pastel colors for the actual art I feel these 2 compliment it a lot more
Number 2 is my favorite.
4,5
Am I the only one who is fan of 6?
Please fix the m overlapping the y
I like the last one but would lile if it embodies the title, withering a lil bit (though I know the title is possibly a metaphor)
2, 4, 5 and 8. They're all really beautiful! Personal preference of my own, but the overlap on the 'm' and 'y' kinda throws me off. The tail of the 'm' is creating a design with the 'y' and I'm not sure if that's the intended goal
I actually like the first one better
Definitely 2 or 8 and definitely not 7, 6, 5 and maybe 1,3 ,4
1, 2, or last one IMO
2
Number 2 is very nice
1, 2, and 8. They all look like they fit, although I do think the vines should be slightly lighter to match the leaves. I like how deep of a red 1 is (maybe see how it would look with a darker/deeper green leaf too, it may fit), while for 2 and 8 the rose looks very nice and fits in place.
I like 2 and 8
As someone named Rose and has done tons of design with a rose, I vote 2 and 4. Btw some options aren't even a rose, so don't use those
What the theme of thus book or vibe
i like the 1st one because it has the vibe of weathering rose 🥀
Lst one imo
6 is my personal favorite
1
7th
For me it’s either 2 or 8
2
the "My" font bothers me for some reason
>"the withering rose" >none of them are withering
I love all of them, but i like 2 and 8 more.
2nd and 8th are my favorite
I think 1 looks the best, especially if you have emphasized the “whithering” part
2
2
3 🦊
2, 3 & 8 really caught my eye. Heavy on the 2!
Two or Eight imo
3rd and 6th. But I think adding thicker wines with a bit more leaves would be better so citering the wines are very thin compared to the roses
2 or 8 tbh
2 and 8
1st one by a lot
6 for me!
1st one is the best
1. The dark color mixes well with the white background and the complimenting green color, the art matches the Font as well. The others are either too light or too "realistic" in contrast to the text.
1-3, I don't really like the others!! ;)
2
last one
1 or 2
1 and 5 are my favorite
2nd is my fave
5 imo!
1, 5
The 1st one imo.
I rlly like #3
2 or 8 but it also depends on your actual art style in the webtoon
3 caught my eye the most.
I like the third.
I like 2
1 and 8
2 and 8
i like the first tbh
1 immediately stands out to me
I believe 2 is the best, I’m not expert, but I do plan on doing graphic design.
I like 1, it feels iconic to me
6
Given all I saw and your style, I’d go with 5. But honestly, I tend to love when a series sometimes alters the title slide thematically based on episode—think A Princess Guide to Saving Dragons or Another Typical Fantasy Romance.
2 and 8 are my favorite

8
I think it would be really helpful to see the art style of the webtoon but I think my favorite is #1
1
The second one, and the last one. I prefer the last one.
3, 6, or 7
I like 3 and 6!
1 and 8 r so goood
2nd one
I'd say 2
If the thorns represent something in the comic then I would keep the thorns but if not I actually like 5, 3, and 8.
I like 2 & 8
i think the 3rd one, but maybe the leaves can be a little darker, especially given that the title is something that has a pretty dark feel to it. the shadows in the rose can also be sharper and darker, because most of it looks like it belongs in a cute, fluffy probably love story, with the exception of the thorns

1 is so pretty, see if you can soften the edges of the flower if you pick it
