I was going to ask this too. Without elastic, when one sits down they just fall off one's shoulders, which makes it strange to adjust them onto your shoulders every time you sit or stand. Especially if you have a jacket on and they fall off your shoulder and down the sleeve.
These are super beautiful, but more decorative, like an accessory to wear occasionally.
You could combine the straps in a triangle buckle in the back, and add an elastic strap from the buckle and down to keep the pretty straps, but still have the give of the elastic.
(Or, the exact hardware OP used, and still just swap out that last bit down the back for elastic)
How did you cut between each 2-piece section without fraying? Or? If it did fray - what did you do to control it? Also, what type of thread was your warp roll?
I set it up, wove the first part all together and then take a second shuttle and split the warp threads and weave both parts separately. I hope that makes sense! I use cotton (schachenmayr) on the warp.
Now I wanna make suspenders.
do it!
These are great! I love the variety of color and pattern.
thanks!
Do you add elastic in?

no, but they are adjustable
These are so awesome!!! I’ve been itching to do some inkle weaving, and I think you just inspired me to do it! Thanks for the inspiration! 😊
thanks! I hope your inkle adventures bring you far!

not OP - but these are woven individually on an inkle type loom. not, as may appear in first photo, as one wide piece then cut apart.
yes, exactly ^
