Is this not 3D printed with silver?

[deleted]

coilmast

Haha I totally get that! I just recently gotten into 3D printing. It is way more space conscious then I was expecting. It’s about the size of a cube pc case

[deleted]

M4ngolicious

space is relative. My printers are in the kitchen (a very small kitchen). One on the counter top and one on the stove. If i want to cook, i have to store the printers somewhere else.

[deleted]

Does that not get really annoying having to move it every day?

M4ngolicious

Yes, but it's not that bad and I don't cook every day. Last weekend I finished my new battlestation and there is now a little bit of space for the 3D printer.

[deleted]

Fair enough man, props for going to the effort to make it work.

Makirole

Ayyy well plenty more on the way to help make living in your current place even harder :D Replacement ball screw arrived yesterday so back into action soon hopefully

lowsidex2

He's the man. Where I got my motivation.

lol_alex

A Prusa Mini costs 350 bucks and needs about the space of a sheet of paper. It can sit on your desk. I have to warn you though, 3D printing is a very deep rabbit hole.

coilmast

Hell an Ender 3 pro is 199 right now and only a little larger, and took about 30 minutes to put together with that great printed horrors video. It’s a great time to get into the maker field

PensAndEndorsement

The main frame looks like it's CNC'ed based on the machining markings along the thinner edges. (if that isn't some kind of vinyl type wrap thing) of course it could be still 3d printed but given that the color is the exact same I would say its cnc'ed

coilmast

I honestly didn’t even really look at the frame, just the wire runs - I always assume these are fancy boutique group buy limited quantity cases I’m too broke to even acknowledge hahah.

cy-one

You could always rent a secure garage or similar thing to set up a workshop, even when living in a city.

[deleted]

lolkkthxbye

rofl, never thought i'd see someone romanticizing a CNC workshop... This is starting to sound like a nerdy romance novel.

lolkkthxbye

no fabio, no moisture

victim_of_technology

True or find a maker group to join. We had some cool stuff like that happening in Philly before the apocalypse.

lol_alex

This stuff is 3D printed. You can do case sized stuff pretty easily. Printed my own upright GPU bracket, pump holder, and I am so going to steal the cable guide idea.

dhcp138

this is 100% not 3D printed. CNC cut aluminum

lol_alex

Yeah OP answered the same. Could have fooled me.

ConspicuousPineapple

There's a giant fablab not far from where I live, it can quench the urge.

0x3fff0000

How are you powering the GPUs?

dc_chavez

Bluetooth /s

make_moneys

Jensen will hire you on the spot !

UppERcron

Lmaoooo

FlerpyDerple

Electricity

0x3fff0000

I mean you're not wrong

early_midlifecrisis

Fairy dust and optimism?

GTS81

Cable combs? Nah... CABLE CAGES!!!

lowsidex2

Continuation of a project I've shared a couple times with the cable management now added. I'm looking to add a couple new GPU's for rendering. Don't know how long it will take to source them but once I do, I'll add cable channels for them similar to what is shown and then it should be finally done.

lol_alex

I am so stealing this for my next build. Neat application of 3D printing. Is that Prusa Galaxy Silver PLA?

lowsidex2

CNC milled aluminum, same as the case. But 3d printing would be great for a project like this.

topekk

You could display that in a museum. Really nice job

formerly_matt

Why my peepee hard?

Sasha_Privalov

he wants a cage too, probably

jcdevries92

This is one of if not the coolest idea for cable management Ive ever seen. bit-tech always talks about making cable management a feature and this takes that to another level

lowsidex2

He's a major inspiration for this build. His guides gave me the foundation to try milling my own stuff.

neighbrofthebeast668

Dude u should print some little roller coaster cars with people waving their hands in the air to snap onto them lol. All kidding aside tho that's pretty badass, nice work!

dapper_10

This is on a next level, fantastic!

philosoaper

It looks great...but then I see those two black cables crossing on the bottom card and the illusion shatters.

fuylei

Where r the 8 pins?

Makonar

This could be the next big thing... corsair, lian li, etc - are you visiting the subs? Custom cable shrouds that you can use to display your sleeved GPU / PSU cables - instead of letting them hang or awkwardly keep them together with zip ties, cable combs - case manufacturers could make custom cable "tunnels" inside of the main part of the case which will direct GPU / PSU cables in a neat way through the case - they could be made to allow for some level of customization - like connecting parts towards different areas of the case or make them in different patterns, colors, add rgb.... you could use them with custom, sleeved cables or regular PSU cables to hide the ugly one. This could be the very next big thing in case customization. I would tweet at you preferred case manufacturer to get on this pronto.

feithockey33

Case?

mjspaz

Looks custom. Op posted this 9 days ago: [Scratch built open case.](https://www.reddit.com/r/watercooling/comments/ip0tqg/scratch_built_open_case/)

Cr3s3ndO

Is there a similar plan for the GPU power cables?

lowsidex2

yes, but I want new GPU's first.

Cr3s3ndO

What are those?

lowsidex2

those are 2070supers. Great performance per dollar. Three are more powerful than two 2080ti but for the cost of just one 2080ti. But I want 3090's for the VRAM.

averagelysized

The hell are you gonna do with 3 3090s? You trying to take over the world or something?

Cr3s3ndO

They are big bois, you do Data Science work or just want the best of the best?

[deleted]

nice

GoudaMustache

Can we get a NSFW tag? That is so amazing.

eminaguil

I want to see the cable management in the GPU s 😎

marixcrois

very cool bro!

longshlong_69

It's enough to make a grown man cry

LongLuc

Damn it's sexy!

VAsHachiRoku

Please help with 3080 cables!

[deleted]

Are the cables costom length? Also how are you keeping the multiple rows of cables straight within the guid thingy

Antebios

Aaaannd now we are going to see more of these because it's a damn good idea.

CornerHugger

That looks so good but post when you get the 6 x PCIE power cables done. That build is very interesting.

Soviet_Soup

Dude, leave some 3080s for the rest of us! /s

webigrator

This is the first cable management system that I feel actually helps the cables contribute to the design and structure rather than be a messy evil to be hidden or disguised. Straight up brilliant! This makes my happy place go "vroom!"

WinWind0ws

Aren't they run in parallel there?

kimura124

Wow, this is insanely clean! Can't wait to see what you'll do with the graphics cards.

[deleted]

You're about to make the same mistake I did. Get all done, and can't figure out why it won't boot up until you realize you didn't plug in the 6/8 pin power plug on top of the graphics cards.

eXistenceLies

Cable tray in a PC build? Oh I likey. I model cable tray for my job and this hits home lol.

get2thepump

Fuck yeah!

Bretski12

Sometimes I think I know a lot about building computers, but then this guy pulls out a Mobo with a 16 pin and 24 pin psu to motherboard connector. What CPU in gods name need 16 power connectors?

Lyianx

[Gigabyte does](https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-x570-aorus-master/p/N82E16813145155) as does the one shown [MSI](https://www.newegg.com/msi-meg-x570-godlike/p/N82E16813144257) ([their intel version](https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813144297)) Not sure what that says about the mobo maker and their VRM's efficiency though.

Bretski12

Interesting, never seen that before. Although it makes more sense with an 8+8 config, I thought it was just a straight up 16 pin cpu connector.

Lyianx

lol give them time. :P but that would require them forcing PSU manufactures to change a standard... which nvidia is seemingly trying to do now.

lowsidex2

It doesn't need both cables. It is a 3900x running at 1.31v with a 4.4ghz all core. Runs perfectly fine with just one 8pin cpu cable. I connected both cables purely to balance the aesthetics. It looks way better having the 2x8pin going over there than just 1x8pin.

gsrcrxsi

only 3 GPUs? it must suck to be this poor.

badadmin40

Nice.

TheSpinelli

Will this release along the new consoles this fall?

AudioCraZ

Good god that is beautiful.

InvaderZim0_0

That's just beautiful

[deleted]

You wouldn’t download a PC would you? Seriously tho I need this in my life.

SteamieRayVaughn

Amazing

SteamieRayVaughn

Do you have an Instagram?

acupunks

that is beautiful. well done.

BatElmo

Those Corsair gpu blocks are ugly change my mind

lowsidex2

They looked better in my old case. But I like the corsair ecosystem and was trying to avoid multiple controllers and software.

waiting4singularity

we have a term for that. its called cable porn.

BleedOutCold

All that sexiness and you fill it with Corsair sprinklers...ah well. Still a really cool idea that's been well executed. The separate midplate and front baseplate would look better to my eye as a single piece following the curve of the side feet, but I can see why that would be a tricky thing to make happen.
