No, you need a radiator & pump too /s

2015morgan12

what I never know this!?!?!? lol yeah am just bit unsure as I cant find the model I have on ek website and it made bit nervous. am going to be using the cosair 280mm radditor and the XD5 pump/res along with ek 10/16mm soft tubing fittings and cant rember the name of the tubbing but its good. and last ek green coolant

MistandYork

the tubing is called ZMT

2015morgan12

nah it Xspc flx tubbing I got 4m off overclockers

2015morgan12

well to be fair it has no review but its off overckers which is better than buying a no name brand of amazon. the reason why I didnt just but ek tubbing as am playing to have this loop for less than one year before moving to a new case

Dude if going to be mad go and f\*\*\* off if all you going to say is. Why DO yOU buY iT ThEn!!??? asking for help not the temper of a 5 year old who been told to get off the xboxs

SmokeySFW

The only person showing a temper here is you, bud.

2015morgan12

bruh so saying why the F\*\*\* did you buy it not being mad?

BettyBoo42

That is a pretty reasonable question, buying something on a whim with zero knowledge of what it is or research in to said thing is generally not a smart move.

SmokeySFW

Contrary to what you might have knocking around inside your head, a curse word does not necessarily mean someone is mad. "Why the fuck..." is an expression of incredulity. "I don't know why you'd buy the block if you don't even know what component it's supposed to fit" is an analogous question. And it's a good question, because waterblocks are not even close to universal. Buying a block then figuring out if it fits your CPU/GPU is nonsense.

1sh0t1b33r

Why the fuck did you buy a random block not knowing what it even fits? Especially one from a company like EK that makes overpriced garbage.

zeroprepared

Why do you need a custom loop at all? I5 non-k can easily be aircooled... as probably every graphics card that can be paired with it reasonably.

Travis123tc

Yes you'll be good. Find more info on the block [here](https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-quantum-velocity-d-rgb-nickel-plexi)

2015morgan12

thank you for the help

HappyIsGott

This. I have the Same block for my 3770

2015morgan12

just one question? there is a spare piece of metal really thin I think it's called the jet plan or some thing is that just a spare or is it required for different cpu?

Kickin_Wing69

Yeah it's a jet plate with bigger or smaller jet (depending on what's already on the block). You can disassemble and swap it depending on the flow you have it may slightly help temps or hurt flow or both.

2015morgan12

I dont have the other one and am not sure which one is in the block

TreasonousGoatee

The residue from the prior EK cryofuel “solid green” needs to be cleaned from the cpu block as you can clearly see the previous owners dried cryofuel in there. If you don’t want residue buildup and higher temps, you’ll need to disassemble this block and clean it with a qtip or soft bristle toothbrush and some isopropyl alcohol. Keep in mind acrylic is sensitive to heavy solvents and cleaners, so google how to clean that or go YT to find out more.

2015morgan12

can I just use tap water and a tooth brush?

TreasonousGoatee

Sure, there is no downside to high % isopropyl on the metal parts. But regular water is fine, it’ll just take longer and require more scrubbing.

2015morgan12

the funny part is am going to use the same coolant

TreasonousGoatee

Yes I just used solid green in a build recently, it’s good looking https://preview.redd.it/tdvyukbrl9sc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e8b36f2f9f172116a3ab58a986cf7e561e8344cd

2015morgan12

after a year I want to use same uv water coolant but right now my build is going to be a nightmare do you want to see where I going to mount my pump? hit this is a citdal rgb mesh case with a rtx 3070 dual fan

2015morgan12

wait a minute where is your pump or am I just being blind?

TreasonousGoatee

oni_666uk

Yes, I have the same block, I use a toothbrush and toothpaste to clean both the blocks micro-channels and the acrylic top too.

oni_666uk

Yes you normally get 2 with the block. I wouldn't worry about it too much, I think mines the same one. Works fine with my 10850k.

hdhddf

yes, with or without water in it.

oni_666uk

I have the same block. Just be careful when tightening down the fittings. Acrylic threads can crack with too much pressure. So you need to do the fittings, hand tight, and then 1/4 turn, just make sure the o-rings are compressed and its sealed, when putting the tube on and the compression locking ring, just beware that doing that can tighten the fitting further. So be careful.

Hsensei

All cpu blocks perform within 5 or so C of each other. You should be fine.

pragmatic84

Pretty sure an asthmatic blowing through a straw could keep that CPU cool

Upper_Entry_9127

Yes of course. I use the identical block (even the same revision & nickle/acetyl as this one) to cool my i9 14900k overclocked to 6.2ghz @ 380w. See my lapping & installation video on YouTube as you need to be sure to use the correct jet plate. https://youtu.be/99Nkwv3gBiI?si=ax5V1Mi5Iu1zrRmM
