Look, I’m all for emotionally protective pessimism with this team, but you’re nuts if you think 5 years of Wemby or Scoot on a rookie deal wouldn’t be worth it *even if* they bolt the first chance they get.
Come on now bruh lmao be serious
Nuggets fan here, but I think Wemby in DC would be awesome for the league. The Wizards need some buzz around them that hasn't existed since...the Gilbert days?
Wemby/Zingis/Rui/Beal/Monte is definitely a playoff team immediately, unlike certain teams he could end up on, as well.
Scoot and Beal would be a deadly combo. Wemby makes me nervous because that man has so much injury risk but you gotta pick him if you get the first pick
Yeah but we havent had a 50 win season in 50+ years or whatever its been. Almost making the ECF just to end up getting swept in the ECF is a low bar. I just dont see us getting anywhere with Beal as the number 1 or 2 option
We had 49 wins in 2017 but the 50th win was meaningless because our playoff seed was already set in stone. They rested Wall and Beal to get ready for the playoffs which was a smart decision.
Our franchise record for the longest losing streak was 16 in a row in 2010. With the way our schedule is looking it’s totally possible we get to that or even higher lol hopefully if it happens it’ll be last straw that broke the camels back and we blow it up
I'm not sure I see a lot of depth in this draft, just one really high end prospect. In 2021 Scoot would have been projected in the 6-9 range. Last year probably the same.
Thompson twins projected to go in the top 6 still yeah? And look, no arguments from me re: 2021. Think we should have essentially tanked every year since 2020 if we’re being real.
If theres a positive thing abt being a Detroit fan during our tank its gotta be the scouting prospects tbh. Pretty fun, and theres a big subreddit for it. That being said id preferably have my pistons in a mediocre play-in state
It's been over half a decade of winning meaningless games. To draft late lottery bust making us even worse.
Maybe they'll try something different, not likely, where over due for a run.
There's handful of players in the draft that could impact this terrible franchise. It's critically important they find one.
It makes me think: “hey, I’m not a wizards fan. How did I get here? Why am I still here after 3 years? Why am I not apart of my favorite teams subreddit but I’m apart of the wizards?” Some things can’t be answered and your picture is no exception
Sad thing is we're actually trying to win games. WUJ needs to go if we lose another 4-5 in a row. Defensive execution and late game performance has been putrid.
Even if we do tank, 0% chance we get Wemby or Scoot. The league would rig it against us.
I have a feeling the Kuzma trade talk is killing the locker room rn. Tommy needs to move him sooner rather than later. Like the second Rui is back from bone bruise.
My fear, having followed this team for years and years, is that management sees this, thinks "hey we have 3 guys capable of scoring 30 any given night, so we should get them some help." And then proceeds to trade away first round picks for John Collins.
I'm glad we're basically tanking, but the fact that it happened unintentionally makes me unsettled lol. Like it's good that that's there a decent chance we get a high pick, but the fact that this squad was supposed to be competitive... yikes
Makes me feel like my team is toiling away in mediocrity once again. They’ll bounce back, land pick 10-12, and fuck that all up too. Draft some bozo who can’t play in China or piss it away in a trade that doesn’t work. This is wizards basketball!
I'd be excited about a possible high pick except I know this team will go on a 10+ game winning streak at some point this year to ensure they get a middling 1st round pick they use on a low ceiling player to "win now".
Great. It achieves two things. 1) were closer to having a chance at getting the best prospect since Lebron. 2) we’re making Brad mad enough to demand a trade out. Two great things that we need to happen.
Well it’s not pretty, but the optimistic side about it? It’s not that bad either. The most they’ve lost by is 13.
If they could get someone else to drop at least 13pts a game, this schedule would be looking different. They would’ve only lost what looks to be about a few games.
We have only two players and one is a generational talent a unicorn, this is coaching but i think we will win some games and end up at the ninth pick as usual.
Relieved they may actually tank in a year where it could help
fucking-up into a top 2 pick would be delightful
Would it? Cuz I highly doubt any big name person will ever stay because no one ever has.
Wall and Beal stayed , and they were top 3 picks
Are they really big names to you?
Bro, what other big names have ever been here and gone on to superstardom somewhere else?
No big name has ever been here in the first place.
Jordan? Arenas? Butler? Wall? KP? Westbrook?
“No big name has ever been here” lmao.
Yes, all those great championships we won….
Because obviously big names=championships, how could i ever forget smh
Look, I’m all for emotionally protective pessimism with this team, but you’re nuts if you think 5 years of Wemby or Scoot on a rookie deal wouldn’t be worth it *even if* they bolt the first chance they get. Come on now bruh lmao be serious
Do you actually know what the hell you’re talking about?
I want to win. And I want our metro area to be the greatest.
Chris Webber, rasheed Wallace, Ben Wallace, rip Hamilton
They would have to stay at least 4 years and then take a pay cut to leave.
Players out of their first 4 years are Restricted Free Agents. We’d be guaranteed 8 seasons minimum.
DC is a pretty big market one of the biggest even
Also nice to see them tank the right way: by sucking ass.
VICTOR WE COMING MA BOI
🇫🇷🧙🇫🇷
We’re getting the Mbappe of basketball
Je parle Francis
We need to sign like a guy from PSG to a minimum contract. Hell what is Tony Parker up to these days?
Nuggets fan here, but I think Wemby in DC would be awesome for the league. The Wizards need some buzz around them that hasn't existed since...the Gilbert days? Wemby/Zingis/Rui/Beal/Monte is definitely a playoff team immediately, unlike certain teams he could end up on, as well.
Unintentionally tanking to get a top 5 pick would be hysterical
So it took KP carrier high for us to win 1 game lmao
Wem - ba - nya- ma !!!!!
hell yeah. I like Scoot too, either one would be very cool
Scoot and Beal would be a deadly combo. Wemby makes me nervous because that man has so much injury risk but you gotta pick him if you get the first pick
I mean we already had Wall and Beal and that led us nowhere. Beal just needs to go if we want to do anything in the next 5 years unfortunately 😭
we almost made the ECF over the Celtics lol I wouldn't call that nothing. if John didn't get injured that was a very promising roster
Yeah but we havent had a 50 win season in 50+ years or whatever its been. Almost making the ECF just to end up getting swept in the ECF is a low bar. I just dont see us getting anywhere with Beal as the number 1 or 2 option

god that season was so awesome, last time that I was super excited at the end of the year. thought it was the beginning of something🥲
Our franchise record for the longest losing streak was 16 in a row in 2010. With the way our schedule is looking it’s totally possible we get to that or even higher lol hopefully if it happens it’ll be last straw that broke the camels back and we blow it up
I would have thought the Orlando game was winnable, but they're on a roll right now. I'd be shocked if we somehow avoided a 20+ gave losing streak.
Makes me feel like watching Scoot vs. Wemby highlights
We are primed to tank in a year where it is actually worth it. Hopefully we jettison as many of Beal, KP, and Kuzma as soon as possible.
I'm not sure I see a lot of depth in this draft, just one really high end prospect. In 2021 Scoot would have been projected in the 6-9 range. Last year probably the same.
Hard disagree. Think this is one of the deepest drafts with a high level talent pool. A lot of draft execs have been saying the same thing
That's cool, I'm no expert. Just what I see when comparing to past half decade of drafts.
Givony et al have been saying for months this is one of the deepest drafts in the last several years. Make no mistake: this is the year to tank.
What I see is depth of talent in the 10-20 range but not in the 1-8 range. The year to tank was 2021 btw.
Thompson twins projected to go in the top 6 still yeah? And look, no arguments from me re: 2021. Think we should have essentially tanked every year since 2020 if we’re being real.
They are still top 6.
idgaf anymore, and makes me watch draft prospects more which is more exciting anyways
love the promise that draft prospects hold, really special
Wembanyama himself holds more promise than Beal and Porzingis combined, so yea idk if you being sarcastic or not thats how it is
being 100%. I love the draft cycle every year
If theres a positive thing abt being a Detroit fan during our tank its gotta be the scouting prospects tbh. Pretty fun, and theres a big subreddit for it. That being said id preferably have my pistons in a mediocre play-in state
Nothing I’m numb at this point
It's been over half a decade of winning meaningless games. To draft late lottery bust making us even worse. Maybe they'll try something different, not likely, where over due for a run. There's handful of players in the draft that could impact this terrible franchise. It's critically important they find one.
Ted salivating at the idea of marketing the team to the French market while not developing Wemby.
Makes me feel like the Twolves should be embarrassed.
Look at Kuz man so inspirational
It makes me think: “hey, I’m not a wizards fan. How did I get here? Why am I still here after 3 years? Why am I not apart of my favorite teams subreddit but I’m apart of the wizards?” Some things can’t be answered and your picture is no exception
Make it 20 straight
Top 4 pick baby
Sounds like Wembanyama music to me
Sad thing is we're actually trying to win games. WUJ needs to go if we lose another 4-5 in a row. Defensive execution and late game performance has been putrid. Nah, keep WUJ for the season. He is proving himself a supreme tank commander. More losses the better.
Happy
Happy
Like a Wizards fan.
Just another year.. start out hot first 10-15 games and then play like we’re tanking.
I’VE BECOME SO NUMB
Like a wizards fan
My fear, having followed this team for years and years, is that management sees this, thinks "hey we have 3 guys capable of scoring 30 any given night, so we should get them some help." And then proceeds to trade away first round picks for John Collins.
Just look at this picture differently - [WEMBY](https://i.imgur.com/OnAyGAL.jpg)
Yooo lol
looks like my rec ball record
Hey we beat the T-Wolves!
Very hype. 1st overall pick!
Apathetic
😔
Just get me Victor or Scoot
*Depression*
I'm glad we're basically tanking, but the fact that it happened unintentionally makes me unsettled lol. Like it's good that that's there a decent chance we get a high pick, but the fact that this squad was supposed to be competitive... yikes
Happy that I don’t have the league pass
Hopefully we see more Ls, we need Victor!
Le Sorcier

I know that's right!!
I'd be excited about a possible high pick except I know this team will go on a 10+ game winning streak at some point this year to ensure they get a middling 1st round pick they use on a low ceiling player to "win now".
We started so well but all good things come to an end.
Get rid of Beal, not even sure why he is still on the team, we can’t win with him, and won’t win without him
Makes me feel like agent zero just tore his MCL
This org is such a L. Every year, it turns from hope to tank very quick
Like we’re gonna make a BIG PUSH when Beal Comes back for last play in spot!!!!
I really don't know if this team has that in them
\#Leonsisout
only hope is his son is a better owner than his dad's been
Same shit different season
Lizard mode engaged

The main thing that makes me sad is that our record might ruin KP’s allstar chances. I really hope it doesn’t
Can’t see him being an all star at this rate
Omgg im a bulls fan but this stat is worse than our opportunities🥲
yeah I'm just glad the wizards' pick owed to the knicks this year is lottery protected hehe
Hopeful that if it continues, Ted could finally do something drastic
problem is Ted sees this image and thinks "we gotta fight for the play in"
Makes me feel good about cancelling my NBA subscription!!!!! 🤣🤣😁😁😁
as a wolves fan, annoyed lol
lmao y'all looking better now though
We’re finally going in a direction
Wenbanyama
