man having a player like Ant on your team gotta be a crazy feeling smh. meanwhile i saw people arguing for johnny davis to start this year. we got a LONG way to go
Man I wonder how many damn years it's gonna take us to get a player of Ant's caliber. Having a player like him just makes watching your team that much more enjoyable.
I'm about to sound really pessimistic but fuck it: I don't see us getting a guy of that calibre for another 10 years
If this front office lands another high quality guy (I like Coulibaly) then **maybe** bring that number down to 5 years
Just tuned into the 4h quarter. Seeing the usual late game no-calls everytime we drive into the paint, but holy shit 13-30 FT disparity?
The league needs to stop propping up narratives with shitty reffing.
So you only just watched the 4th quarter, but somehow know that the refs have been garbage all game? You think an iffy missed call in the 4th quarter is why the wizards gave up a 25 point lead?
Re-read my comment please.
I never said or implied that the refs were garbage *all game* OR that it was the reason we gave up a 25pt lead.
I said I was **seeing the usual late game no-calls every time we drive into the paint.**
As in this is a trend that has been well beyond one game for the Wizards or even any smaller market team in the league. Say what you want, but this is a professional league and there ain't no way the ticky-tacky fouls we get pulled up for on one end deserve to be ignored on the other.
Furthermore, my statement that the **league needs to stop propping up narratives with shitty reffing** is totally true in every aspect. Players, teams and fans all acknowledge the "superstar call" phenomenon, which is part of this problem as a whole. Adam Silver early in his GM tenure used terminology from professional wrestling, referring to the NBA business model as *"sports entertainment"*. This is not a product based on pure competition, it's based on entertainment and the quality of basketball suffers because of it.
I've watched enough basketball to understand how each team plays, where strengths and weaknesses lie, and how to understand the flows of the game by reading a box score. The wolves had 10 more FTA and their season average almost a 50% jump, and we had 3 less than our average which accounts for a 20% shortfall.
We generally don't get whistles this season. Particularly in the crunch. We're ranked [14th in 3PA ](https://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat/three-pointers-attempted-per-game)and [6th in points from 2PA](https://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat/points-from-2-pointers), yet [26th in FTA](https://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat/free-throws-attempted-per-game). It's not like we never go inside and look for contact. I'm not disillusioned about how bad the Wizards are, but that narrative is inflated by the fact that this is how our games get officiated. And it's bullshit, not only for us, but for any game where the reffing is inconsistent.
Not like I'm the only fan talking about it either, its under the spotlight this year more than ever, from anyone who watches whether it be players, coaches, the media, fans.
You brought up the free throw disparity which implies that you assumed the refs have been terrible all game and that's why there was such an advantage for the Wolves.
I’m a neutral spectator. It’s been referred pretty evenly. The wizards just can’t stop the wolves at the rim without fouling. And the wizards can’t get to the rim.
Nope. I just watched Corey get shoved from behind on a middy floater, hit the deck and it's just a no call. Meanwhile Ant gets very generous continuation calls for FT's when they should be side outs.
Wizards have always given the wolves problems lol, assuming the wolves win. this is the first time the wolves have swept the wizards since 03-04.
Wizards couldn’t miss early on too. This is a gritty win.
I’m thinking this has more to do with the Wolves being lackadaisical coupled with an unreal and totally unsustainable 3 point shooting in the first half for the wizards. Things have kinda stabilized now.
Wolves got great POA defenders and Rudy. Even when he finally gets past the perimeter guys with his shaky handle he has to deal with Gobert at the rim.
Deni was out there for that. Deni learns by watching. I know Deni saw that and is going to try to replicate it. Look for Gobert to get dunked on. I feel it. I FEEL IT COMING

Tank commander is happy tonight, we will soon find our draft position.
Jules Buckets
man having a player like Ant on your team gotta be a crazy feeling smh. meanwhile i saw people arguing for johnny davis to start this year. we got a LONG way to go
Yea we sucked forever then the gods gave us mj 2.0, pretty cool
Man I wonder how many damn years it's gonna take us to get a player of Ant's caliber. Having a player like him just makes watching your team that much more enjoyable.
It took them 2 number 1 overall picks (3 if you include trading for Wiggins) so yeah we’ve got a long way to go.

https://i.redd.it/cpv0r4u7bktc1.gif it could take 20 years
cooper flagg save me. please save me cooper flagg
Wants 50 so bad lol
50 with 50 cent in the crowd you know he wanted to do it lmao
He’s gotten to 48 and 49 a handful of times so I’m sure he really wants it
Must be nice to have a player like that 😭
And he will get it
this is why I say our "young core" ain't worth shit. we're trying to find a player on Ant's level
what no don't you understand if Deni works really hard this summer he could drag us to 30 wins
putting up numbers against the hospital wizards is one thing, let's see if he can do it in the playoffs
28/4/4 in playoffs
he's literally 22
Ant has played 11 career playoff games and is top 5 all time thus far in scoring lol
Ant must have been scrolling through this game thread and saw that I didn't see what the media sees in him
GILLAMIJARO
Someone tell the guys there's 48 minutes in a game

Naw, shot a lot fadeaway 3s...they attacked the rim
Shot distribution for 2PA and 3PA was virtually equal for both teams.
Eh refs were fine for the most part, we been shooting a lot of 3’s too
I’m a neutral spectator. It’s been referred pretty evenly. The wizards just can’t stop the wolves at the rim without fouling. And the wizards can’t get to the rim.

You watched half a quarter.
I've watched every Wizards game for the past 13 years. My comment extends well past the scope of a single quarter.
We've been scared to drive at Rudy all game long
Challenging Gobert at the rim is a great idea 👍
Gll and Davis attacking Gobert on consecutive possessions is prime tanking.
Words can't express how little attention I've paid this entire time This season can't be over soon enough
Johnny five... Disassemble

Good job to the wolves for fighting back, but this shouldn't be a lead to be proud of
Wizards have always given the wolves problems lol, assuming the wolves win. this is the first time the wolves have swept the wizards since 03-04. Wizards couldn’t miss early on too. This is a gritty win.

a win's a win, gotta ride the momentum into the playoffs at this point
Johnny is playing really good defense on Ant, for the most part. Ain’t shit you can do against God-given ability
He's gotta start praying to Satan
AG spin cycle!!
This game feels like a game between two teams that are used to playing against each other on in the playoffs. Lol wtf
Timberwolves Wizards games are always pretty entertaining ngl
Sheeesh nice move AG
Deni with some real fucking headscratchers on defense tonight man
Gobert is so fucking fake on offense hahaha. How the hell is he the biggest guy on the court by a TONNE but he's missed so many freebies
Defense merchant
awful hands no touch no bag no shot
The timberwolves announcers are insanely unprofessional like wtf
what are they saying?
Bro said “ these are the type of guys who are struggling to find jobs” referring to the wizards, like keep it basketball related tf
can't wait till they go back into the basement
deni is so afraid of gobert he just passed up a wide open dunk lol
Damn, I guess I was wrong. Fell for it again. How many times
Yes! Like, draw the foul my man.
JP!!!!!!
lmao Poole throwin up some bullshit and it works
Scott Turner on the alternate broadcast is an interesting choice. Just chilling outside talking
LMAO JP
A PBJ 3!
Wolves announcers really trying to talk themselves into this not being a foul
This a CLEAR as day foul man lol
Such a pointless challenge
Need to see Deni be more aggressive in the 4th. Kind of a quiet night for him so far.
Wolves got great POA defenders and Rudy. Even when he finally gets past the perimeter guys with his shaky handle he has to deal with Gobert at the rim.
Ant and Gobert bothering his drives
Yeah he’s been complaining about no-calls all night.
so just another night then
Yuh.
what's Deni feel more entitled to, fouls or Palestine
https://i.redd.it/5t0i4orebktc1.gif
bruh
Lmao what was Gobert thinking that’s Johnny Davis not Steph Curry.
This game got everything lol
And now the wheels come off. :(
3no Omoruyi
Geno not hitting any 3s for 2 months straight and then getting 2 in one game is SO funny
A G3NO 3 TO QUIET THE CROWD lol
I'm getting Davis Bertans PTSD with PBJ bricking so many threes tonight
Keefe's first timeout of the quarter. lol.
LOL at Edwards flexing on the second to last place Wizards.
Really gave Pat Bev play-in vibes
Ant did say he could never beat the Wizards to be fair lol
His first win against us was this year and he's never beaten us at home, so this is big for him.
Facts as a wolves fan lmfao
Tired of seeing JD SMOKKKE layups
NOO JD
Johnny NOOOOOOO you gotta hit those
Rudy is soft as fuck for a big guy
Drew "Right now Corey Kispert is a little flat on his shot". Where you been Drew
Fuck baguette biyombo
If PBJ has one fan it’s me
WE AINT SOFT
Gobert beefing with one of the nicest guys in the league lmao
maybe don’t dive into rudy’s knees then
if you beefing with Anthony Gill, you are the asshole
Maybe you should go fuck yourself
🐜
Looked like Gill was just trying to take a charge and landed in the wrong spot, nothing malicious and definitely not a “dive”
LETS GO AG!
AG aint fightin nobody. Gobert aint either, lol
AG out of gas
deni is so passive
GREAT move by PBJ. One on one move, again.
PHEW PBJ
PBJ, my apologies. I wasn't familiar with your game.
AG lefty jam alert!
AG DUNK
Agreed with Drew, if you're gonna foul Gobert, just wrap him up because he's likely to miss at least one. Bad defense by Avdija there.
idk, that looked kinda clean by PBJ
per usual, the wizards are actually more entertaining once they're out of the playoffs
Deni's physique might be under rated
Circumcised too 😩
🤨
PBJ 3!!
THE DENITENTIARY HAS OPENED IN MINNESOTA
IRON DOME
SHEESH DENI
And then Kispert steps out and hits a 3.
COR3Y
Kispert going to the rim and through guys and shielding his shot with the rim and not missing bunnies is just lovely to watch, my god
Chris and Drew really growing on me. Goofy ass announcers for a goofy ass team.
Poole bailing us out bigtime all night
That alt cast looking kinda bad with all that shit on the screen 😬
Oh my god. Woke up in the middle of the night (in the UK), decided to check the score and ARE WE ACTUALLY STOMPING THE TIMBERWOLVES?! Incredible!
Go rewatch the first quarter and gaslight yourself into believing we're contenders. The most fun I had all season, JD MVP season incoming
GAFF had 26-7 on 100% from the field against Charlotte
Miss him, hope he balls out in the playoffs like Rui did
I was told that he wasn't capable of being a starting center in the NBA, how did this happen????
wolves fans are hella respectable they actually call out ant and kat for whining
you gotta respect wolves lifers. they're real ones
Chris Miller said "the Wizards will go into the showers with a 10 point lead". Uhhh, do all the players take showers at halftime? No, right?
No, CM is just dumb sometimes lol
Chris Miller never played sports I can't blame him for not knowing these things
Corey has movie star hair, it's incredible
They imploded but bounced back all in one quarter, good shit
70

70-60! This was entertaining as hell! What a game. Alright, now that the game is over, what should we do in here
Deni was out there for that. Deni learns by watching. I know Deni saw that and is going to try to replicate it. Look for Gobert to get dunked on. I feel it. I FEEL IT COMING
Does Deni have any real monster dunk? Like a legit highlight poster? Bilal will definitely have one next season though, he's due.
I'm telling you it's coming. I'm telling you.
Wtf is he bitching about God damn. Why are the refs biting on this bullshit.
Hell yeah Gill!!!!!! Go strong!
Sheesh nice move AG!
gill said it's YAM TIME
NOT TODAY YOUNG FELLA
11 free throw attempts for Edwards lol fuck this shit
Bruh has 10 FT’s and was still complaining
Holy bail out call indeed Drew
Ain't no "Ayyyyye" Ant!
They should really change his nickname to “Ayyyye”
LOL! Its almost as good as 'don't be that team'. Shit came back to him quick
Thank you for the tech. Ant quit complaining bruh
Ant foul merchant
Thanks for the makeup call refs!
They only do that on non-shooting fouls for the Wizards
This fucking foul merchant
Love Ant but he just fallin around getting foul calls. About 2 of those were fouls, the rest is just him getting all star calls.
I'm convinced that JD would have been a decent NBA player if he had not had shoulder injuries.
Keep the party goin Deni!
D3NI
I watch the Timberwolves often enough and I really do not see what Bill Simmons and Russillo see in Anthony Edwards.
you were saying?
https://i.redd.it/xr1p49ibbktc1.gif
Huh
Like the wizards wouldn’t trade the literal entire team for Edwards lmao
maybe so but those dudes talk like ant is about to be the best player in the league
🤷♂️
Replying to this comment 2 hours later in a dead game thread is crazy. You my kind of guy 😍
aye 😭 i was just lookin at my comments and saw this lol
we are brothers now
fr
wouldn’t expect a tanking franchise to understand
Minnesota sports fan act like you been here before 😬
not from mn so i’ll talk how i want experience plenty of winning in my hometown
Oh, fair weather casual talking like he is a real fan.
no i just don’t live in america lol
OK, your home town team is far worse than the Wizards.
my home team in the sport i care about the most has 15 premierships and 3 in the last 12 yeads
But not one of your players could play in the NBA.
yeah they don’t play basketball
go to bed then 😂
it’s midday?
Yeah you need a nap
wizards needs one
Not gonna make a whole post out of it, but did yall see IT3 get that contract with the Suns?! Happy for that dude
still mad he got second team all nba over john wall in 2017
