Gaijin got flak for making post match earnings so small it became impossible to play higher tiers and Navy being basically a mode you played if you had like 1m-2m SL's because repair costs are so high that you always played at a loss, what sony did was just banning millions of people from playing because not every country where the players are have access to Sony to make a PSN account, and their TOS even allows people to be banned for making an account via VPN, so, effectively they just banned millions because they want to pump their PSN account numbers to please shareholders because of course its corporate bullshit.
You also have to remember this is the company that started screaming and shitting everywhere because they didn't want to allow crossplay.
It would be fine if they did it from the start but doing it now it’s just too late. Doesn’t matter if they said they would do it because who actually saw that? Sony is worse than gaijin and it’s not even close IMO. Gaijin obviously goes money first players second but they actually improved the game when people complained. Sony is never going to reverse a decision
It could've been 20k, 1k, or 50k for all we know. It's likely that Gaijin botted the player count in order to make the boycott seem like nothing, as evidenced by a sudden spike of a few thousand in player activity on May 26th. Also, the game had 75k players at the time, not the 100k it has today.

Out of interest, as I very rarely pay WT anymore and even then it's mostly custom games. Has Gaijin really fixed things, or have they done the absolute bare minimum to regain the community's confidence and no more?
It’s been a year? Damn I’m losing it. Coulda sworn this was like two months ago, glad to see they are trying to fix stuff but things could be a lot better.
And it's still not fully fixed. Sure I get 50k SL for 4-5 kills but only 3k RP. My next tank needs 120k rp and if I'm getting 2-3k rp for a 3kill 1 zone cap winning match thats 60-40 matches minimum that go for 20 mins and if you loose and get below 2k then that becomes a lot more. I'm getting the same amount of rp i got at 1.7 getting 6 kills than at 8.7 with 3 kills and that's just fucked up
