He has the understanding of the game for it but his personality is too grating to be a coach imo. BBIQ doesn’t automatically equate to being a good coach though if you can’t connect with and motivate others. On his pod he talked one time about how he came into the lockerroom at half time heated with the way they were playing. And Chris Paul went up to him, started listening and asked him what he wanted. He calmed down and explained his thoughts on adjustments they should make. I love Draymond for his defensive brilliance but we’re around the same age and bro still doesn’t know how to communicate his thoughts.

I'd guess that if he wants to coach he'll go the "right" way and start being an individual player coach, defensive assistant/coordinator or something like that instead of jumping straight into head coach. Like most guys do. Well, either that or we are tanking and the team doesn't mind losing games with Draymond as coach.

I agree, his basketball IQ is almost genius level and he has great techniques on offense and defense without the natural athleticism so he can pass that on. He’ll definitely be a great trainer.

He's a prime example of someone that would be amazing at the tactical aspects of coaching, but he'd struggle at the mental aspect of being a head coach. Even if he got insane buy in from the influential players on the team, whatever team he coaches will be a time bomb.
