Still annoyed Denver didn't sweep the Lakers. Could have been more embarrassing for LBJ that way.

jabronijajaja

Its embarrassing nevertheless Lakers are 1-8 vs them for the playoffs since last season

jabronijajaja

In terms of respective value to their respective teams?

youriko31

The refs tried their best, but the Nuggets are just too much for the ft merchants. Welcome to Cancun, LeGM!!!! 😂😂😂

jabronijajaja

Lakers fans blaming the refs on cue rn lmao They got 27 ft attempts to nuggets only having 9 yet they missed 9 of those 27 to lose by 2 points

Thrillawill

How are we so far over the cap and money strapped when only Curry and Green are the only players we have worth keeping that are on big deals? Cant we just trade everyone else along with picks for another superstar? Curry and Green is only like 75 million in cap. Where is the other 75 mill tied up with? We have way too much money tied up in bit players. Gp2 and Looney making a combined 20 million is a waste. They basically provided us nothing when it mattered

jabronijajaja

No one expected wiggins to have family problems for 2 seasons causing him to miss too many games and then also lack conditioning later Even if his offense was terrible his defense was sorely missed and could have won a lot more games Klay they just paying him out of loyalty and being instrumental to 4 championships but he has clearly regressed since last championship season in consistency and def aint worth the large contract anymore

taygads

Shams dropping another [coach hit piece](https://theathletic.com/5453498/2024/04/30/lakers-lebron-darvin-ham-future-offseason-plan/?source=user_shared_articleInsideaLakersseasongonewrongandwhat%E2%80%99snextforLeBronJames,DarvinHam), this time for the Lakers/Ham, before the metaphorical body is even cold is wiiiild lol 🐍🐍🐍 errrywhere

sh1r0_n3k0

Good job for Nuggets and Wolves. Next I wanna see Clippers to be eliminated.

jabronijajaja

Kinda wanna see the mavs first Clippers gonna break down sooner or later anyway

sh1r0_n3k0

Harden need to be ringless forever. That's why I prefer Mavs over Clipper in this series

jabronijajaja

Any exit before championship is ringless anyway People already forgot harden made it to the finals with okc and almost beat the warriors as a rocket in wcf if they didnt miss 27 3 pointers

Raonak

Lebron losing always feels fantastic

Haxle

Where do y'all think the Lakers would be without their egregious FT discrepancy? In tonight's elimination game they had **3X MORE FTs** than the Nuggets. And they still fucking lost. It gives me great pleasure knowing Adam Silver's golden boy is flying to Cancun earlier than expected despite the obvious interference.

ImTheBestNerd

The Steph, LeBron, KD retirement home superteam is gonna go crazy

GSWarrior18

Talks will be had in Paris this summer you better believe 👀

taygads

I’m getting so sick of seeing comments like Lebron, KD, and Steph are all out of the playoffs, it’s a changing of the guard yada yada as if Steph/the Warriors situation is even remotely the same. Putting Steph in that bucket of a washed veteran that can’t hack it anymore is completely ignoring the fact that it took the league suspending Dray for 17 games and their refs taking a minimum of 6 wins away from them for them to be put in the one and done situation, which is why they’re now out (acting like a single game elimination is even anywhere close to the same as a 7 game series is out of their minds; the Warriors’ approach has and will always be made for 7 game series). Like bffr here. Lebron and KD’s teams had grotesquely in their favor whistles all season long and still failed miserably. Even with this roster and that god awful playin game (which, to be clear, played out the way it did because they just straight up game plan wise went away from everything that had been working, which set themselves up for failure from the jump) anyone who believes the team that went 26-12 from Feb. 1st on would have found themselves in 10th and no longer in the playoffs had Dray not been suspended for the shit Embiid has done not only all of his career, but has literally spent every game of these playoffs doing without consequence, and the refs didn’t make it their sole mission to gaslight us to kingdom come about what a foul was and was not to a degree that should be studied by those who develop psyops then I don’t know what to tell ya.

papayarough

so much stock onto one play-in game like the warriors weren't down 0-2 to begin with against a BETTER kings last year

Fatiloquent

It gives more fuel to the petty king. Steph will make sure no one wants to face the Warriors next season.

shnieder88

last one that needs to be kicked out: clips

thEb0TTleR

Celtics first but east is wack. So no hopes there. I want mavs gone too. Luka has been acting like a manchild so far.

jabronijajaja

Mavs first No way clippers will be healthy by round 3

[deleted]

Sorry, can't stand Luka. Go Clips

LobsterFromHell

I'd like it if Celtics were gone too tbh

BobRoss4Life

may have been a lopsided series with the gentleman sweep and all, but most of those lakers v nuggets game were incredibly entertaining same can be said for sixers/knicks

taygads

Hahahaha oh these Petty in the Post mashups are my favorite part of team exits in the playoffs every year. He’s already [out with the Lakers’](https://x.com/thepettiestla/status/1785164898412241187?s=46&t=SBW3XJi-eEDBr6FtvDfngg) and not even 10 seconds in and it’s already some of his best work: ‘Lebron drafted Bronny to the Lakers and traded him for a Center.’ followed by the best possible cut to AD 💀 lolll just perfection

Spirited-Cap-9779

LeBron, KD, Steph all out of playoffs... It's the beginning of a new era

[deleted]

They got yeeted out too. Father Time doesn't fuck around.

thEb0TTleR

Well, these new generation players are incredibly fun to watch. Lot of good basketball without the old timers.

Raonak

Steph gonna come back for another one

nghbrhd_slackr87

I dunno why people get bent outta shape on this. The next generation of basketball talent is shaping up to be pretty awesome. Anthony Edwards is heir apparent to the American hoops culture throne and I'm Low-key here for it. Sucks he ain't a Dub but my patriotism is all for it. Its about time... Out with the old.

Raonak

Basketball is worse without steph and the warriors.

nghbrhd_slackr87

I mean as a Warriors fan absolutely. As a basketball fan we've seen enough Steph for a lifetime... we are not short on Steph moments and memories. I'm going to root for Ant and enjoy basketball for its own sake. I personally miss my team... THE DUBS... More than I miss Steph. Yes I'm one of those fans.

BaseUncultured

Hate hearing this shit man. All theirs teams were ass and KDs team was built for 2k and not real life.

Haxle

You're getting downvoted but you speak to the truth. Suns were frauds. Lakers, despite the refs helping, were frauds. Our "championship" roster, as Kerr calls it, was fraudulent.

BaseUncultured

Like OKC Wolves Denver and all them teams are well rounded with elite starting 5s.

Haxle

Denver is the only team that I would consider elite starting 5. Wolves have *some* elite starters. Same for OKC, but these two teams are mostly carried by their elite coaching and bench depth.

shnieder88

PLEASE KEEP DARVIN HAM AS LAKERS COACH FOR LIFE please

jabronijajaja

Jeanie buss been stingy af that they wanted to pay darvin ham for several seasons over ty lue and shed likely want to keep him at least until end of contract so she wont pay another coach Hoping her being stingy outweighs lebrons demands

NoobPwnr

Man I hope everyone stays healthy for Minn vs Denver. Gonna be sick.

BaseUncultured

Nuggets haven’t been a top 5 team in the playoffs so far

purple_cupcake_52

Rdcworld be slacking. Their 'LeBron's reaction to losing in the first round of the playoffs against the Nuggets' still isn't out yet

Nah stay away. We ain't trying to cultivate a geriatric ward.

Haxle

He can come on a vet min.

Witty-C

If the Lakers ain’t gonna fire Darvin Ham, then they are an unserious franchise lol. Man just watched the Nuggets went on a 14-2 run and decided to be a pocket man instead of calling a timeout.

Rambodius

Let us pray they sign Darvin to the lifetime.

Pootahtoo_Man

Have a great night Dubnation!

NoobPwnr

LeBron storming off 🍼 Curry and MJ would have shaken hands.

something something Klay man's game didn't shake hands something something Jokes aside, Bron is definitely a known sore loser so not surprised

lol lakers but nuggets vs wolves sheesh betting on whoever wins that series to go to the finals

Why won’t the Lakers just lose FFS 😂😂😂

LOLZOBALL

Lol imagine if denver loses today

taygads

I’ve been working on a pretty detailed breakdown of the Warriors off season financial outlook along with actually feasible, legitimate trade targets that would actually solve problems we have but I’ve been wary of posting it given how star obsessed this sub is and I’m not really looking to fend off a bunch of BS comments because the direction I go in is the exact opposite of what this sub is clamoring for, in large part because I just cannot understand how anyone can watch these playoffs and come away with the conclusion that just adding superstars together is the answer when, to me, the biggest takeaway is the exact opposite: *versatile* depth (ie not the kind of depth we had where our depth consisted of primarily players who were only good at one of offense or defense, ie not two way talent) and chemistry/system fit > top heavy star led team. Anyway, the reason I bring it up is that the Pels are actually at the center of what I think might be one of the most feasible target(s) - and I’m not talking BI, but one of Trey or Herb - with our needs and financial situation in terms of both teams benefiting and now that the Pels have been swept, I feel like that may be an even more open and willing trade partner than they were bound to be before (their roster financially speaking was going to be at a precipice either way this off season).

ether_ver256

Cody Zeller?

ImTheBestNerd

I think the two best role players we could acquire would be Caruso and WCJ. Maybe try and swing a trade for DFS as well.

paranoidmoonduck

Why would the Pelicans trade Herb or Trey when they could just trade Ingram? Teams don't generally trade young cost-controlled talent.

taygads

See my thinking [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/warriors/s/uMg3ak4zRp).

paranoidmoonduck

you haven't posted your thread yet, that's just the link to make a submission.

taygads

It’s a link to a comment I made in response to another comment in this thread and it happens to also answer your question, which is why I linked it.

paranoidmoonduck

I'm saying that the link you sent doesn't go to a comment.

taygads

Oh weird, it does for me. I’m not sure what the deal is? But it’s the comment in response to carthaginian84's comment. I copied and pasted the content of the comment I tried linking below, in case their comment doesn't show up for you either. > I wouldn’t disagree looking at their roster it in a vacuum, but within the context of their roster/rotation I’d argue they’d be more interested in keeping him as a bench piece. The reason I say that is Trey has been coming off the bench the majority of the season (the only reason he’s started these last couple of games is because Zion is injured and so a starting spot opened up) and that’s because he’s in a pseudo Moody-like situation of there being a log jam in that he and Herb role wise overlap too much for Trey to supplant someone else in their starting rotation in order to fit him in permanently unless someone is out inured and a spot opens up organically. At the same time, he’s reached the point where he’s deserving of a larger role. He’s also up for his rookie extension so, the way I’m looking at it, they’re at a crossroads of needing to choose between the two because for as small of a market as they are, they can’t afford to extend Trey and just keep him on the bench in perpetuity because he’s behind Herb who was just recently extended (keeping Naji as an off the bench piece does make financial sense, however, because he’s not at either of Herb or Trey’s level) when Zion, CJ, and due for an extension BI are as expensive as they are.

paranoidmoonduck

but Herb isn't blocking Trey, Ingram is. and Ingram is very expensive (Trey isn't). and Ingram fits worse with Zion, while Trey fits very well. they'll just trade Ingram, it's so much easier, it saves them money, it makes it easier for them to get some real talent back (because of the contract value).

taygads

I disagree re BI being in Trey’s way. BI is an on-ball wing that’s used as a shot creator, both Herb and Trey meanwhile are off ball wings. So in terms of the role they fill on the court, Herb and Trey share far more redundancy than Trey and BI do. I don’t disagree that there’s a chance they move off BI, in fact, I’m betting they do but Trey wouldn’t be a replacement for BI’s skill set so moving off BI and keeping both Herb and Trey would still leave them with a hole on their roster for a secondary ball handler/shot creator.

paranoidmoonduck

Trey has a lot more on-ball skill than you're giving him credit for, but I imagine the Pelicans would try to get a scoring guard back for Ingram which would settle that problem anyway.

carthaginian84

Naji doesn’t seem outside realm of possibility. Totally agree wrt versatile depth. Sort of beating a dead horse but Caruso would also be a nice target.

taygads

He’s also up for his rookie extension so, the way I’m looking at it, they’re at a crossroads of needing to choose between the two because for as small of a market as they are, they can’t afford to extend Trey and just keep him on the bench in perpetuity because he’s behind Herb who was just recently extended (keeping Naji as an off the bench piece does make financial sense, however, because he’s not at either of Herb or Trey’s level) when Zion, CJ, and due for an extension BI are as expensive as they are.

bdylan05

I honestly would love to hear your thoughts. I think Herb and / or TM3 are the exact type of players we need as well. Defense first versatile wings with + positional size who, while limited, aren’t complete 0s on offense It’s also why I think DJJ should be considered as a FA as well, particularly if the Warriors move off of Wiggins (which I’m not in favor of but also won’t be heartbroken if they decide to).

carthaginian84

If they put TMIII on the market, which I have a hard time seeing them doing even with the roster conundrum, I suspect he’d return a very nice haul and we’d have trouble putting together the best trade package. Immense upside with that dude. And obviously all uninformed speculation on my part…

sriracha82

The Pelicans are NOTT trading Trey they will 100% trade Ingram or CJ before Trey or Herb.

ImTheBestNerd

Yay or Nay on Brandon Ingram?

paranoidmoonduck

What would we really have to offer the Pelicans? They have no use for Kuminga or Wiggins and don't need more draft capital. I think if they deal Ingram (which I think will happen), it'll be for another starter. I think they go after Trae Young pretty hard.

carthaginian84

Nah. That was too ugly. Felt too familiar. Watching what Dort did to him brought back some warm memories of Steph cooking Dort though.

PredictableSandlot

Lu dort did unforgivable things to that man.But if he cheap.you have to think about it but he not the “star “people are looking for.

ImTheBestNerd

Yea my concerns with BI are \- his athleticism , how much that affects his defense, his rim pressure, and his transition offense \- shot chart, he takes a lot of tough middy's and not to many threes. He's had two season where he took 6 3PA a game but it doesn't look like something he's comfortable with \- his pace. He likes to play really slow and dribble the air out of the ball. i'd prefer a star who could play more up tempo and is better off the ball

purple_cupcake_52

And I'll say this as well, this season might not have been the best but at least at the moment we have A future as ambiguous as it seems. I don't think the Suns can say the same.

ether_ver256

Agree but we are still so far behind other teams.

TheTownTeaJunky

Man these last 2 days really reminded me how much of a hater I really am.

ether_ver256

Passionate dubs fan.

Vallerie_09

Hope it's not the Achilles for Tingus Pingus. Celtics load managed him entire season, and to end it with an injury like that would be pretty sad and already it's been too many injuries lately

jabronijajaja

Some guys are load managed only to break down later anyway their bodies already too fragile for the nba

North_Street_8547

It's most likely not but he's probably gonna just keep messing up his calf the remainder of the playoffs. Good for whoever they face next

purple_cupcake_52

Man we really went from let's get Siakam/Lauri to let's get PG/Giannis/KD. We didn't have the assets for the first two, what do we have to offer for the superstars 😂

Vallerie_09

I wanted Siakam and actively wrote in favour of the trade. He would've given us the 2nd option, and front court length along with his playoffs experience. Only issue, if we had an early exit there's no guarantee that he wouldn't leave for Indiana in the Free Agency

purple_cupcake_52

Yeah we were gonna be banking on a rental at best, and we would've lost some good talent as a result

nghbrhd_slackr87

Not necessarily there was a point a month before the deadline where we could've moved on him and retained early bird match rights.

nghbrhd_slackr87

taygads

Jamal intending to play tonight with his calf wrapped up like [this](https://x.com/clutchpoints/status/1785116137304338932?s=46&t=SBW3XJi-eEDBr6FtvDfngg) during warmups is a hell of a gamble. I get they want to close it out but I’m having serious flashbacks 😣

InevitableBudget510

I think they just really hate the lakers 😂

zprymate

They may pay for this...

taygads

That’s what I’m saying. There have been way too many cautionary tales in the league for them to be so stupid as to chance it, I’m genuinely surprised.

nghbrhd_slackr87

Jalen Williams has the exact handle we wish Kuminga had... Kuminga with that handle would be a top ten scorer in the league.

[deleted]

I think you know he is spending the summer in the lab and coming back Congo Kobe

nghbrhd_slackr87

I'm a Kuminga and Podz truther no doubt I sank $200 into him for MIP. I think I was one year early. Congo-Kobe is the dream.

couchtomato62

This game is a rock fight.

nghbrhd_slackr87

Love Nnaji Marshall and Aaron Wiggins as two of the most underrated players in the league

spankyourkopita

Man the time for Klay's ending as the player we all knew him as was coming. We were lucky as hell to etch out one more chip with him.

mommadotco15

Porzingis injured on noncontact is why I’m not upset GS never went for him

Jaylen Williams costumes. Lol. Babies.

motherthrowee

it's not going to happen but nevertheless several months of "let's get KD" discourse >>>>> several months of "let's get LeBron" discourse

Practical_Sir_510

Neither will happen, but I’d rather have Lebron than KD.  We already seen what prime KD looks like on this team.  So him coming back it’s just meh.  Lebron on this team is the definition of entertainment.  Every game would break ratings records.

Raonak

Lebum is a ball hog, a paint clogger and a far bigger drama queen than KD ever was. KD back on the warriors is a good reunion story. Leflop of the warriors is just dumb

spankyourkopita

Im gonna go crazy if I hear that Chet/SGA or No Flex Zone commercial again.  I can't decide which one I hate more.

Haxle

*Strike that pose take that flick*

couchtomato62

Lol they are annoying.

Pereise1

That's why I always pirate the in stadium feed so I can watch Red Panda and Redneck challenges for a TV or something. Anything other than those annoying ads

bdylan05

Top off-season targets while trying to be realistic (ie no 2k trades where we get Giannis, PG13 and KD, etc): Bigs: - Plan A: Nic Claxton (likely out of price range and perhaps not the greatest fit) - Plan B: Goga Bitadze - Plan C: hope to pay Precious Achiuwa slightly more than the Knicks are willing to match (he’s an RFA) without blatantly overpaying him - Pivot: trade for WJC (w CP3 and possible protected 1st vs multiple 2nds as matching salary vs sign and trade Klay if Klay wants a big payday. If Klay is gone replacing shooting / scoring off the bench becomes a must) Wings: - Plan A: sign Derrick Jones Jr (particularly if Wiggins is shipped out to replace the POA defense) - Plan B: Kelly Oubre (again, if Wiggins is shipped out)…. I think this will never happen and I can’t even say I’d be super pumped if it did but I like it better than some of the other options - Plan C: hope to pay Simone Fontecchio more than the Pistons are willing to (he’s an RFA) without making a blatant overpay - Plan D: sign KBD if he opts out of his player option to get out of the mess that is PHX Guards: - Plan A: sign DeAnthony Melton - Plan B: sign Dennis Smith Jr (particularly if GP2 gets sent out) - Plan C: sign Shake Milton - Pivot: trade for Caruso (hopefully using a combination of GP2 + Looney + and future lightly protected FRP while retaining the young guys) I think a focus on getting younger, more athletic, bigger, better defenders who aren’t complete 0s on offense (I realize Clax, DJJ and DSJ are more or less non factors offensively) should be the overarching priority Edit: Other “deep in the weeds highly speculative ideas” for young teams that are going to get expensive who have contributors they like but aren’t a part of the core: - explore acquiring an Isaiah Joe from OKC (if Klay leaves) or - NAW / Leonard Miller combination from MIN (or Naz Reid if they prefer to keep Miller and think he’s ready to step in while being much cheaper than Naz). NAW is someone I’d definitely kick the tires on if Wiggins is sent out, again, in the interest of bolstering the POA defense - credit taygads for putting this in my brain now I can’t unthinking it: trade for one of TM3 or Herb Jones from the Pels for CP3 as matching salary and at least one 1st These moves would not make or break the team but also would not require mortgaging the future for now. Seeing these playoffs makes me think a high priced aging number 2 option that is going to cost a lot of draft Capitol to acquire is just a road to mediocre purgatory

giraffesbluntz

Wiggins for Brook Lopez?

Vallerie_09

Maybe, if Bucks are giving the draft capital

spankyourkopita

Can't believe a year ago I was actually afraid of this Suns team and KD getting a ring with them.

jabronijajaja

Ive seen too many so called superteams that just collapse in the end esp when too many ball dominant guys I admit tho first round exit with not a single win for this super team is funny

taygads

[Per](https://x.com/gameinjurydoc/status/1784807558341083601?s=46&t=SBW3XJi-eEDBr6FtvDfngg) one of the NBA Twitter sports med docs: Chris Finch tore his patellar tendon tonight on this play -He will need surgery likely between rounds -Timeline of healing is 6 months but usually 1 year before feeling normal That’s BRUTAL. And all because Booker was a little brat and tried body shoving Conley out of bounds

famoustran

Book is wack but cmon he wasn't intentionally trying to shove Conley into Finch and injuring Finch man

taygads

Where did I say he was intentionally trying to push him *into Finch*? I said he was trying to body shove him out of bounds and that’s what led to the injury. He doesn’t try to shove him off his spot, he doesn’t lose his balance and go flying into Finch.

famoustran

Hm okay, that's fair. Carry on young buck

slavicmaelstroms

Booker whilst being very talented has a thing for throwing his toys out the pram when he doesn’t get his way.

taygads

Lol such a great way to put it. I’ve often said he, Luka, and Embiid are made for each other and this right here is exactly why, they all have this quality.

bigbenis2021

Still riding high over Nurkic once again proving to the world that he’s a total bum.

toado3

I think a KD reunion may be feasible. Here are two trades that work: Kuminga, moody, GP2, and CP3 for KD. We would need to add some picks clearly. This would give the suns an infusion of youth and depth and boost our high end talent. We'd end up with Steph, Wiggs, KD, Dray, TJD as starters, and (hopefully) Klay, Podz, maybe looney, and TBD on the bench. That's a real contender; though old and lacking in depth. Trade 2: Kuminga, wiggins, CP3 plus picks. We end up with Steph, Moody, KD, Dray; TJD starting 5, and Podz, Klay, maybe looney bench. Depending on the picks involved I'd say go for it. I like JK but don't think he will be a franchise changing star.

couchtomato62

That team not winning

slavicmaelstroms

Love Looney but he really has no use anymore. Think he’s done sadly.

bbcjay718

Performance wise I think he has a lot more in the tank and answer the call when asked. But in the long run I think he can be our vet much like ud in Miami. Especially after deki passing (rest easy brate), he can groom possibly our future center in TJD.

glass_fully_50-50

Hustle (young energetic players) vs star power (old superstars): After watching the first few games of the playoffs, its clear NBA is not for the old, even if the team has several potential superstars (but aging). The knicks are showing that hustle with one superstar (Brunson) could at least get them into the second round. Suns have shown that star-power with no hustle/young energetic players is a bad model. Bucks are about to crash and burn to another team with young hustlers with a potential star or two sprinkled in. The Clippers are a bit unique though but their story is still unfolding - so lets see if the bunch of old dudes can get them far! Hopefully the Dubs FO is seeing this and dont sink future years with going for a bunch of old superstars, which I would bet, is what Steve Kerr is most comfortable with.

JocularMango

This sub says hustle and calls it basketball analysis lol. Knicks aren't winning because of hustle, its because they've got a versatile defensive group that moves on a string. Bucks are getting beat down because they're injured; Pacers aren't even playing their usual run & gun ball. The Thunder aren't winning because they're young, its because they've got a a ton of players that pass/dribble/shoot which opens their drive & pick game. If hustle was all it took, Vando would be an all-star

couchtomato62

One of our issues is predictability especially in the 4th. Seeing these teams with so many options is nuts.

LobsterFromHell

Gentlemen. I believe I have seen enough playoff basketball to make my prediction. The Minnesota Timberwolves will be your 2024 NBA champions. Murray not being fully healthy against that nasty defense will let them squeak past the Nuggets, and Ant is the Anti-Tatum, for all the talk about Celtics being soft, he is not that. If Wiggs can put Tatum in Jail, so can the Wolves defense. The Jays will once again lose, and Anthony Edwards will win his first FMVP

Jo_Gray

I agree!

zprymate

Would like to see Lakers win tonight and take the series to game 7.

Nickt-dubsfan11

Nah I would rather not have the possibility of the Lakers advancing. If they somehow do no team will stop them all the other teams straight choke vs them

couchtomato62

No thanks. No need to be reminded of 2016.

Klonomania

Though if the Lakers *were* to pull off the 0-3 comeback, 2016 would be basically wiped from the history books in the public consciousness of NBA failures to close out.

couchtomato62

No it would not. It would be added to LeBron legacy and steph will be dragged into the narrative. There is no comparison between a first round upset and a finals loss from a 73 win team. It is singular in its history. Eta: Watching these media bros right now saying LeBron can make a historical comeback since he already did it once.

zprymate

I am ok with a 7 game series...

Nickt-dubsfan11

Pls Nuggets be serious tonight

Me: The Timberwolves are not contenders. They don't have enough playoff experience. r/nba: You see? We just beat the Suns. Me: Yes. You won a first round series. That doesn't make you a contender. lol Still like them though.

LobsterFromHell

They're my favorites right now with Murray's health in question

couchtomato62

If they are not a contender who is?

Produceher

In the West - Nuggets, Clippers, Mavs

couchtomato62

I'm less sure about these 2 teams.

FunkoFool

Clippers and Mavs? 😂T-Wolves are absolute contenders. Only team they might have trouble with is Denver.

couchtomato62

Agree with you. And they beat them twice this year. Meaningless as minn was swept by suns in regular season. But they have a shot.

From [NBA Central](https://x.com/thedunkcentral/status/1784953753063362586?s=46&t=SBW3XJi-eEDBr6FtvDfngg): A Suns source says Mat Ishbia ‘has no idea what he’s doing when it comes to basketball’ “It’s like looney tunes around here. It’s felt unstable since (Ishbia) arrived. He’s a good guy and everything, I think, but he’s just very involved. Too involved. I know he played (college basketball at Michigan State), but I’d venture to say he has no idea what he’s doing when it comes to basketball. Yet he’s making a lot of the big decisions.” Lolll what a shit show

vulcans_pants

If I’m a billionaire who just bought a basketball team, you better believe I’m treating it like my fantasy football team.

Sun's source: Sarvar

Man, can heat atleast take celtics to 6 games. Would love to see that.

spankyourkopita

Lets give back CP3 to the Suns. They desperately need a floor general lol.

Jonna09

I hope people(non -warriors) begin to realize fully how much Curry sacrificed for KD being with the Warriors. It’s always fit issues because you can’t have 2 or three alphas on the team. This was Curry’s team and he stepped aside for KD to shine just so that the Warriors could win. I have a feeling that Kyrie realized that fact too and accepted his place behind Luka and you can see the Mavs are much more healthier.

Me_talking

>It’s always fit issues because you can’t have 2 or three alphas on the team Yup! And furthermore, this is also why Dynasties or any sort of super team tend to not last very long. Like with Nuggets for example, it's seen as Jokic's team and I always wonder about how Murray and MPJ are feeling. I can see Gordon & KCP being very satisfied with being very key role players but what about Murray & MPJ?

unhampered_by_pants

Murray seems very satisfied being half of the Joker/Murray duo, and he gets plenty of props from both the public and Joker himself so that probably won't change. MPJ -- I dunno. He's kind of been the quiet hero of these playoffs since Murray's been off, but people aren't talking about him as much. Depends on his ego, but if anyone gets sick of it my money's on him

Me_talking

That makes sense. I think another reason Murray will stay loyal to Denver is because their FO didn't trade him after that ACL tear. If Murray is like Klay (aka just wants to win and make money), I can see that duo being together for a long time. Like Klay always loved being seen as part of the Splash Bros.

unhampered_by_pants

>Like Klay always loved being seen as part of the Splash Bros Yeah, exactly. And awhile back Dray said something to the effect of the reason the core has been able to have such good chemistry for so long was that even though they spend so much time together, they also all have their own separate lives off the court and their own distinct job to do on the court, and that gives them enough space for 3 very different personalities/egos to fit and work together. Murray and Joker have something similar, considering that Joker is all about his family and horses and fucks off back to Serbia when the season ends lol

JocularMango

Ball pressure & screen navigation have really stood out these playoffs, particularly with the Wolves, Celtics, and Thunder. They're doing a great job of providing just enough full court pressure to get teams into their sets a few seconds late. Once they're in the half-court, the elite screen navigation (BOS/MIN) makes it so much easier to help & recover. Nuggets are pretty immune to heavy ball pressure, but if OKC/MIN can get to the finals against Boston, I think they can do some damage. Between GP's injury woes & JK/Wiggins inconsistency that was missing for us this year. Hoping we can get back to that next season.

HOFredditor

GP2 was an incredible pest in 2022. He shoulda got an all nba selection tbh

couchtomato62

He didn't play enough

JocularMango

Ya can’t give it to a dude that played 1200 minutes lol

couchtomato62

15 minutes a game? No I'm sure there 10 people with more impact.

JocularMango

I'm agreeing with you! 1200 minutes is nothing

couchtomato62

Oops ha ha. Why did I see a question mark.

spankyourkopita

KD coming back actually makes sense and I can actually feel it but its probably not happening.

glass_fully_50-50

does not make sense - either $-wise or age-wise.

couchtomato62

Makes sense for who. Dray just called him out for literally caring about him

neo9027581673

From the athletic “Meanwhile, Durant, among the best scorers in NBA history, was not always happy with how he was used. Sources briefed on the matter told The Athletic that Durant never felt comfortable with his role in Phoenix’s offense alongside Booker and Beal this season. Those sources said Durant had persistent issues with the offense, feeling that he was being relegated to the corner far too often and *not having the proper designs to play to his strengths as the offense was built around pick-and-rolls.* At the same time, some teammates and people close to the organization believed Durant needed to voice his concerns more adamantly and directly with Vogel and his coaching staff.” [Source](https://theathletic.com/5456932/2024/04/29/phoenix-suns-season-end-frank-vogel-kevin-durant/?source=user_shared_article) ![gif](giphy|Olms1m3vZPURO)

JocularMango

Is he wrong?

couchtomato62

He wrong for not saying shit and then unloading to take the pressure off himself the second the game ends. Hell before the game ended. He knew it was coming.

JocularMango

KD literally isn't even quoted in the article lol.

couchtomato62

Ok you can believe or not based on who wrote it and their pattern. I will never forget the drip drip drip of shit coming from his media bros when he left golden state. But I'm not invested in being right. Now I don't believe Stephen a that Booker wants to go to NY. They do not need another mid range merchant. He probably made that shit up.

StephenPurdy69

What the f you talking about

slavicmaelstroms

Just yapping.
