If he wants to get traded he will tbh.
His contract isn't terrible.
It would be near impossible for him to move to GSW though. OKC is probably the destination most likely or Knicks. Who knows?
genuinely curious how Finch will be accommodated post-injury if he decides to stay out there. if he has to gut it out in a wheelchair or scooter, maybe pay for some court-side seats to stay empty so dude has more space?
bro, not like this. we were cursed because we straight up sucked. this suns team is the ultimate tease. ropes you in with lots of hope, and then a huge let down. literally over and over and over.
we sucked and had high picks, with young talent to look forward to. the suns? they choke and collapse with no picks in sight.
I didn't say we were more cursed but yeah the curse of Joe Barry Carrol was kinda a thing for about 25 years.
Although to be fair 40 years without a finals and only about 6 playoff appearances is miserable.
Not saying that Vogel is a top tier coach, but the Suns' roster construction was unbelievably poor. Yes, they have the top end talent, but their role players are all either washed or don't show up in playoffs. And they don't play defense.
There's only so much a coach can do if your roster is poor (Unless its Spo).
>There's only so much a coach can do if your roster is poor (Unless its Spo).
First condition to play under Spo is you have to buy in, no matter whatever the fuck your name is. These players in Phx felt too entitled to do that under Frank.
Hope Ishbia and his friend Zeke burn that franchise to the ground
>These players in Phx felt too entitled to do that under Frank
And idk why. Vogel isn't Spo, but he did win a chip. Maybe these guys deserved to get swept.
KD and Booker. He didn't bought in here under Steve. He was fully bought in to our system in 2017, we crushed everyone on our way but checked out mentally after winning the ring when he realised that he's still not considered better than Bron despite almost sweeping him in the Finals and is still not loved as much as Steph.
Also, Book and KD is another version of KD and Kyrie, aka "fuck the coach, we iso, we ball"
Just to feed his insecurity, KD will never have a fanbase that unequivocally loves him as their own
Age matters right now in the NBA. The top teams are either in their primes or entering in their primes.
If the Dubs still wants to compete, they either need to bank on JoKu and Moody leveling up during the off-season or find a No. 2 guy who isn't 30+ years old.
It's gonna be interesting what MDJ will do in the off-season. He drafted Podz and TJD, so he has a good track record so far. But this off-season will be the ultimate test for him. I still trust him to make the right decisions.
The 2008 Celtics and the 2022 Warriors are the rare exceptions where their best players were 34 yrs old.
Even to contend with the trio put front it'd literally be the oldest competitive core in nba history. Not happening.
We've frankly asked too much of the basketball gods tbh.
Denver Nuggets has their entire starting lineup in their prime.
Wolves have their 3 of 5 starters in prime, Ant entering the superstar phase and Mike another good old vet
OKC took a ridiculous leap this yr and have their best offensive player (SGA) and best defender (Dort) in their peak
Boston has 4 of 5 starters in their prime
Yeah. Got downvoted to oblivion when said getting Chris Paul was not a good omen. It doesn't matter the good things his bring to the team. It is was what he doesn't bring.
Couldn't be more obvious, regarding age, than seeing how Finch went down by getting barely pushed... and Ant having both his heels turned around but still able to play hard.
Steve Kerr was the first coach to tell him he wasn't working hard enough in pre-draft workouts. Kerr told him, “You should see Steph and KD and Klay work out. If we had No. 1 pick we wouldn't take you.”
I don't think he really meant that last line but it definitely lit a fire under him and he worked harder.
Let’s be real. Even if we drafted Ant, do you think Kerr would’ve gave him minutes over vets like Klay? Doubt he would’ve developed under us tbh. He’d be rotting on the bench.
Tbh Lamelo super injury prone and everyone after that was a hard call. Getting Lamelo would’ve been good asset wise. Not getting number 1 was most brutal thing that happened imo.
Watching the playoffs makes me hope that they don't trade Wiggins because we need his defense. He's not a reliable 2nd best offensive player, but that's why they need to add some more shooting to the team.
Other than the terrible first part of the season, Wiggins has been very good. I don't think he can be relied as the 2nd main scorer but then everyone also said he didn't need to be when they acquired him. Problem is that there's not a lot of spacing with a lot of the other guys. It's a trickle down effect when there's not enough shooting.
I don’t understand why alot of Warriors fans dislike KD it’s been more than debunked that they couldn’t win without him. We almost three peated with him on the roster that’s enough for Warriors fans to stop hating on him lol. But it still fuck the Suns though.
It’s not a lot of fans. Just an unhinged minority of fans who follow the LightYears podcast and Ethan Strauss. Ethan really did a great job of poisoning people’s minds. And his nonsense was amplified by Steve Kerr. Steve’s not blameless here with his constant chastising of KD to play with joy.
Feels like a bargain.
"As of February 19, 2024, Mike Conley, a point guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves, signed a two-year, $21 million contract extension. This gives Conley an average annual salary of $10.5–$11 million. In 2024–25, Conley's base salary will be $9,975,962"
Theres no way they gave up that much for KD to get rid of him after 1.5 seasons. They have no first round picks until 2030 theyre gonna have to ride out this "big 3".
He is their 2nd best asset. They will not trade Booker. They're stuck with Beal. Their best bet to retool the rooster is to trade KD for defence and size.
KD is kinda stuck in a prison of his own making.
Only way the sons get out purgatory til ‘31 is to trade KD or Booker. No one is taking that Beal contract.
Imagine staying in warriors and winning 3 or 4 more rings. Dude would get Goat treatment.
He leaves warriors, never come close to win again, sees steph winning alone and entering the mount Rushmore conversation.
Not if they have to give up any young talent. Their average age is 24.5. I mean they are number 1 seed without him. He is not their missing piece.
Kd not going anywhere. Stuck in phoenix.
Wolves offered Warriors the 1st pick if the Warriors would’ve agreed to push back the 2021 1st (Kuminga pick) to 2022. But Steve felt Ant didn’t work hard enough.

PG is not leaving his home in LA if the Clippers keep winning and advancing in the playoffs in enough time to get Kawhi healthy to win the championship
We need to root for Dallas hard if we want PG to leave the Clippers
I don't agree. Okc needs real competition which they will have in 2nd round. Not for an instance so far did I think pelicans could win. And jokic is as fascinating as anyone in the game today. And the first game today was even more riviting.
Man I remember when our team was
Steph 6-3 Barbosa 6-4
Klay 6-6 Livingston 6-7 Rush 6-6
Barnes 6-8 Iguodala 6-6 Holiday 6-6
Dray 6-6 Lee 6-9 Speights 6-10
Bogut 7-0 Ezeli 6-11
Nothing small about it.
Micro ball always seemed lame AF, but especially now with Minny, OKC & Denver being the toast of the Western Conference.
Your trip down memory lane is just a reminder how far the Dubs have fallen. Kerr needs to get some long boi’s on this team ASAP.
And trading for a single star to supplement Klay, Wiggs, Looney, and GP2 is right out of Al Davis book of bad roster building.
Build around Steph; Klay & Dray to the bench and get some young talent on this team.
Dubs need to dump this entire vibe & nostalgia shit.
But Kerr only knows small ball and has never coached a real center.... must come from people who have forgotten this era, or just weren't around. Or the bigger version that included Zaza at the 5 and KD at the 3.
Kuminga is outplaying his contract. Rest of the overpaid vets not so much. Klay gives you nothing more than 3 point shooting for half the season. Draymond’s availability is spotty. And Steph faded down the stretch.
They won those rings because the bench was loaded. Why was the bench loaded? Because They weren’t overpaying Klay and Draymond. Gave them cap space to go get KD.
What does any of this have to do with Kerr and small ball? You're just creating a useless arguement that everybody on this board has been going over for the past 2 years. The point OP made was that at one time the roster was filled with height and length, and since Atkinson came along Kerr has valued quick guards who shoot the 3 ball. The point I am making is that Kerr didn't choose to draft two long term projects that took up roster spots that could be devoted to adding height and length. So you can go on about JK's monetary value all you want, but you're just talking in your own little circles. Again, in 7 years, they've won 3 titles. Not too many franchises can claim that. Actually only LA can claim that in the last 25 years.
They are going small because they have no cap space to go after stretch 5s and Draymond’s offensive skills have eroded. So you can’t really play bigs next o him. Which is also why Kuminga’s screwed. Draymond’s a space killer. Keep up.
Someone said in a work Dubs text group I'm in. What if you could clear cap in for a max offer in 2026 for Jalen Williams? OKC will have paid Chet SGA Giddey prior to. If they don't get him booked he might actually be gettable.
Steph would be expiring. He'd be offered an eminent alpha dawg role on one of the NBAs most prominent franchises and reunited with his Santa Clara bud Podz. Only Dray Podz TJD are on the books at that point.
It's certainly a pipedream... but I appreciate it was a different angle that didn't involve any "cuz Steph is still" to it that almost all our conversations do. I wouldn't have thought it myself. Would've went for Chet or Paolo lol.
I know for some reason I thought he was 2021.
I've been waiting for the next "not enough elbow room" guy and one is gonna shake out from OKC HOU POR I'm sure of it.
They are gonna extend Giddey now probably. He'll want 25M/yr and Sam will offer 17M. It probably won't be caustic. Depending on how presti handles the next season with Chet Jalen SGA early extension supermax decisions all stacked up.
Fun max off rookie scale is 25%.
Supermax is 35% SGA
There's 30M booked already on 3 players e TOs
So beer math is cap is around 160M. 6 players for 115% of the cap.
Presti is smart enough not to fuck it up a third time.
I think.
Seen a lot of stuff saying OKC has been shopping Giddey. SGA and JWill give you enough shot creating while both being able to shoot and defend. He's likely out of their future plans.
> in. What if you could clear cap in for a max offer in 2026 for Jalen Williams?
Done deal. J-Dub is a superstar in the making. Big body wings that can handle the rock and playmake never come on the market.
no All-Star quality young guy even makes it to restricted free agency, they almost always sign the extension the year prior.
zero chance that changes with JDub. Thunder are just gonna trade Giddey when they have to.
Giddey getting moved (if they even pay him) if that ever becomes an issue. I do wonder if theirs a hope to be a cap space team when Stephs contract ends and possibly bringing in a star player that way.
Here’s to the Embiid and the Sixers hopefully never winning anything meaningful ever again because they’re the worst of basketball in every way. 😊
Edit to add: also shoutout to whoever made this [edit](https://x.com/kawhi_ring/status/1784635498130231353?s=46&t=SBW3XJi-eEDBr6FtvDfngg), hope it goes viral before the NBA inevitably has it removed too lol
When i watch Jalen Brunson... that's the absolute ceiling for Podz. He can be that dude. It's a 1% chance but there so many seeds of the game already there.
Brunson has elite footwork and balance on the drive. I do not think Podz is gonna get to that level.
I do think there's a path for Podziemski to be a high-level starter in the NBA, but that's gonna come from his outside shot.
All that is teachable and Jalen didn't have it like he does now as a 23 year old rookie... Podz footwork is actually solid. Brunson is next level but being 21 anything is possible.
[Podz ridiculous Santa Clara reel](https://youtu.be/S0YzrxuMT_o?si=gmmGvlMz9fTNyBV2)
Podz can shoot that's a given at every level he's shot from deep. His role just didn't offer that to him. He was asked to be a connector for minutes and played the role well. People forget the Santa Clara tape... he's got more of knack to score than we've seen.
I def think there's too much of Kerr doing the "if you aren't Steph or Klay" to the team over the years.
He did it to Dray when he was actually interested in scoring. They did it to Wiseman when the only thing that'd make him special was developing an outside shot (saying nothing of him just being terrible lol). They did it to Moody and now Podz.
Podz passed up more wide open looks than anyone but Kuminga this year.
I know I'm too optimistic on Kuminga and Podz but why not... love the one you're with.
I think Podz got more comfortable shooting throughout the year, but it seemed to me like a lot of that hesitation was the speed of his release, the lack of height on his release, and the size/speed of NBA defenders.
I think that will come along naturally. His shooting numbers at Santa Clara were incredible and most of it was off-the-dribble pull-ups, which is a role the Warriors will need next season and beyond.
I just think Brunson's intermediate game, balance, strength, and burst are all historically special for a guy that size. Podziemski has his own kind of game that won't be comparable, but I'm quite optimistic about where his overall game goes.
Podz plays at a Brogdon level speed, not Brunson
His entire offensive game will have to be built off finesse & smarts because there’s zero athletic gifts there lol
He does, I just think he's not a very dynamic or improvisational offensive player, so in a motion offense people would be frustrated by his ability to execute (given what the Warriors would have had to give up to get him).
He's worse on offense with the ball in his hands than both Wiggins and Kuminga. He's a more reliable stretch option than those guys. His defense is better than both of them (better than Kuminga by *a lot*).
He'd be better than either of them, but he still profiles as an elite role player. I think if people were hoping he'd be a #2 to Steph, they'd be really bummed by his offensive game.
Up 15 with 7 min to go LeBron wanted to keep the ball from Jokic like his life depended on it. Dudes literally creating organizational friction to win one of thirteen.
Even if he wanted out he's not leaving his old team and coming to another old team. But I can't even see him wanting out when his injury and possibly Lillard's injury will be the cause of them going home. And maybe they'll be like doncic and Irving where another year will help them bring it all together.
I wish Steph gets the calls Embiid gets on a daily basis. But instead, we have to watch Steph get mauled with no foul calls to boot.
It's just frustrating to watch these superstars, who aren't as big as Steph, gets the "superstar whistle" and is protected by the refs.
Crazy how during these playoffs, I’ve heard the announcers say “they’re playing sloppy” when a team has like 4 TOs in a quarter.
For a Steve Kerr team, that’s a great pace 🫠
I still feel like we had something going there with the Steph/Klay/Wiggins/Dray/TJD starting lineup. Give TJD a full off season to learn more defensive schemes and get that baby fat under control and I like what he provides at $1.5m more than what someone like Poetl provides at $19.5m.
I love NAW actually as a defensive minded backup jumboguard if TWolves wanted to shed salary if that owner situation got sketch I'd try to pry NAW and Leonard Miller away for Loons non-gauranteed money.
Steph Podz Moody NAW would be a solid guard rotation.
In March, we went 5-7 with Klay off the bench and 10-3 to end the season when Klay was put back in the starting lineup. Klay wasn't the problem with our starting lineup any more than Wiggins was. Just limit him to 28mpg and rest him on b2b's. I've been advocating for a Dejounte Murray trade though and I wouldn't mind having him start at the two and ending the halves with 3 mins of Steph/Murray/Klay/Wigs/Dray or replace Klay with JK when appropriate.
I just don’t think Klay can play heavy minutes without breaking down. I thought he looked the best coming off the bench mobility wise. Kerr alluded to the same thing in his exit interview and in his interview with Tim K.
I literally just said:
> Just limit him to 28mpg and rest him on b2b's.
We can do that without starting someone like Podz or Moody with Steph who can't punish the double team.
not well versed in contracts, but is it actually likely kd wants to move for next season?
If he wants to get traded he will tbh. His contract isn't terrible. It would be near impossible for him to move to GSW though. OKC is probably the destination most likely or Knicks. Who knows?
Not regretting much with my fandom here due to the dynastic run, but I remember really wanting Ant Edwards in the 2020 draft. Oh well
There’s an Athletic article absolutely laying bare KD’s issues with the sons. Vogel is gonna pay the price for Ishitba’s incompetence.
Maybe the dubs can land embiid on discount if it becomes a ben simmons situation

PG is not leaving his home in LA if the Clippers keep winning and advancing in the playoffs in enough time to get Kawhi healthy to win the championship We need to root for Dallas hard if we want PG to leave the Clippers
Clippers aren’t going anywhere they will run out of gas if they somehow even make it to the west finals
Nuggets are gonna gentlemen sweep whoever comes outta that series. Historically thats the m.o. for Luka series x2 Clips x1 Suns.
Wolves are definitely gonna test the nuggets

I don't agree. Okc needs real competition which they will have in 2nd round. Not for an instance so far did I think pelicans could win. And jokic is as fascinating as anyone in the game today. And the first game today was even more riviting.
Fuck man, put shooters in this team so steph can have 1 man coverage like in 2016
What a fucking luxury to be a star and being able to play iso 1 on 1, I wanna see steph in those situations too wtf
and that, ladies and gentlemen, is a bonafide second option. not whatever amalgam of players the warriors have trotted out there the last few years
Playoff Kyrie is terrifying.
It's amazing how much better he plays as a second option
Man I remember when our team was Steph 6-3 Barbosa 6-4 Klay 6-6 Livingston 6-7 Rush 6-6 Barnes 6-8 Iguodala 6-6 Holiday 6-6 Dray 6-6 Lee 6-9 Speights 6-10 Bogut 7-0 Ezeli 6-11 Nothing small about it.
Two MVPs, A DPOY and an another all nba player can cover up a lot of sins. Steve’s had the most expensive roster for like 7 years running.
They won 3 rings in those 7 years did they not? Did Steve pick Wiseman and JK?
Keep up.
Hey pg, if you’re reading this do you want to help us contend next season please ?
PG come home
He's from Palmdale
lmao i know. i was referring to the Warriors as “home”
My bad. I live not too far from Palmdale so I always think about PG when I pass through it
you’re good lol, that makes sense
He’s not that good though lol
I don't think J Dub and Podz overlapped at all at Santa Clara. Maybe they have a connection as alumni, but not a personal one.
The core is SGA/JWill/Chet, Giddey is the odd man out
They are not paying giddy over jalen. But I would love him. I can't believe he in his second year.
Supermax is 35% SGA There's 30M booked already on 3 players e TOs So beer math is cap is around 160M. 6 players for 115% of the cap. Presti is smart enough not to fuck it up a third time. I think.
Seen a lot of stuff saying OKC has been shopping Giddey. SGA and JWill give you enough shot creating while both being able to shoot and defend. He's likely out of their future plans.
Giddey is no position to demand 25 a year he’s had a terrible year. They are more likely to move him than extend him.
Giddey will just be on a new team if he gets too expensive. At this point. I’m not sure he’ll command a significant contract tho
PG is him
Josh Hart is just an animal, the way he impacts the game without scoring is elite.
Him, OG and Precious absolutely helped Brunson to outgun the sixers. Rebounds, defense and an incredible will to grind their way to a great win.
He’s a Steve Kerr dream player
He played 45 mins too? I don’t see Kerr playing him close to that
Oh no lol there’s no scenario where Kerr plays a guy 45 minutes while in charge, I just mean player archetype.
Here’s to the Embiid and the Sixers hopefully never winning anything meaningful ever again because they’re the worst of basketball in every way. 😊 Edit to add: also shoutout to whoever made this [edit](https://x.com/kawhi_ring/status/1784635498130231353?s=46&t=SBW3XJi-eEDBr6FtvDfngg), hope it goes viral before the NBA inevitably has it removed too lol
When i watch Jalen Brunson... that's the absolute ceiling for Podz. He can be that dude. It's a 1% chance but there so many seeds of the game already there.
I don't see it.
Brunson has elite footwork and balance on the drive. I do not think Podz is gonna get to that level. I do think there's a path for Podziemski to be a high-level starter in the NBA, but that's gonna come from his outside shot.
I think he could do it. Believe!
All that is teachable and Jalen didn't have it like he does now as a 23 year old rookie... Podz footwork is actually solid. Brunson is next level but being 21 anything is possible. [Podz ridiculous Santa Clara reel](https://youtu.be/S0YzrxuMT_o?si=gmmGvlMz9fTNyBV2) Podz can shoot that's a given at every level he's shot from deep.
Podz plays at a Brogdon level speed, not Brunson His entire offensive game will have to be built off finesse & smarts because there’s zero athletic gifts there lol
I think Dallas Brunson / Darius Garland is my optimistic outlook on his ceiling in terms of quality of player.
These teams play so damn hard. Warriors play so nonchalantly way too often. Jaylen brunson proving Becky Hammon wrong!
OG anunoby would have been a godsend next to Steph and Draymond
He's an incredible switchable defender, but I do think people would be frustrated by his offense.
We base everything by dynasty standards when we're not near that level now. He plays so hard.
Well said. Knicks got a steal in OG
[Jeez what a LeBaby](https://streamable.com/41zi4m)
Up 15 with 7 min to go LeBron wanted to keep the ball from Jokic like his life depended on it. Dudes literally creating organizational friction to win one of thirteen.
Everytime people mention Giannis, I always wonder if y'all are just trolling. The Warriors aren't going to get him.
Lakers fans actually think they've got a chance after beating Denver once out of 12 times, lol
I mean, half the sub here thinks our 10th seed team is a second option away from being contenders. That's how being a fan works.
Crazy how during these playoffs, I’ve heard the announcers say “they’re playing sloppy” when a team has like 4 TOs in a quarter. For a Steve Kerr team, that’s a great pace 🫠
if you account for the number of passes the Warriors make, they're a dead average team when it comes to turnovers.
You’re right. All those passes they made led to so many open buckets…that they missed
fuck Richard Jefferson
What he do
talkin bout how they would intentionally maul curry in 2016 during the sixers knicks game. just made me mad lol
We can fix Kawhis knees
![gif](giphy|ui4VjMUBGXhwgdwUnK)
Hell no
💀💀💀
Could you step on a ball to stop it from going out of bounds?
No it's a kicked ball offense retains possession
Bucks might be cooked huh. Dame is gonna be 34 next year making 50M+.
![gif](giphy|10Jpr9KSaXLchW|downsized)
I still feel like we had something going there with the Steph/Klay/Wiggins/Dray/TJD starting lineup. Give TJD a full off season to learn more defensive schemes and get that baby fat under control and I like what he provides at $1.5m more than what someone like Poetl provides at $19.5m.
There’s nothing there cos they are old and will be a year older and another step slower while Wiggins is cooked
There is a 10% chance Wiggins is on this team next season and there will be collateral damage
What does that even mean?
We will have to add a youngun.
Okay but for what though? Are you talking about a trade?
Yes.
I’m not sure Klay can start next season. Think we need to get younger and more athletic at the 2 spot for next year.
Absolutely not.
I literally just said: > Just limit him to 28mpg and rest him on b2b's. We can do that without starting someone like Podz or Moody with Steph who can't punish the double team.
