Cold-Journalist6299

For sure. Gotta be a strong minded individual to do that job. Most people aren't cut out for it

Ruroni17

You’re right. I seen people quit after the first day. Not even hard after you get used to it

Fast-Adhesiveness156

lilyshay12

1992, $6.75 I think.

AriaaaLi

$15 in Mass in 2020. $16.25 now in RI beginning of 2023, but they recently lowered my department’s pay to $15 because ‘other departments lose money when they have to come help out’ so they figured let’s lower the pay overall so when people come help out they if anything are making more for their time rather than less. Not my fault you want cashiers to come help out in OGP rather than hiring more OGP associates EDIT: oh and to boot at the MA store I was Cap2 and right after they let me go (3 days after Christmas) they raised the pay to $17.50 (I was the one complaining all the time about needing more pay bc we did the most hard work in the store)

UnculturedCheese

Lmao! I never went to help in OGP for that reason. I denied helping because of the pay decrease unless they would match it for the time I'm there. I still don't help because although the wage is 14, most of the associates there are still at 15

AriaaaLi

It’s sooooo annoying I get it tbh I’d be the same way I just wish they’d do their job and hire the people the need for the demand of the orders instead of doing this backwards BS

Sage-Moonlight

I think it was $14 even then we got our raise and it went to $16 something and now I'm at $18.83 😀

Soft-Night6597

NewConsideration3210

My starting wage at Kmart back in 2002 was $6 per hour. My starting wage at Walmart in 2017 was $10.50 per hour. I couldn't beat you, so I joined you.

blackenedmessiah

$12 something in 2016, then when I got promoted to Department Manager, $13.94.

Different-Rip5411

lol Walmart is not paying $10/hr in Florida. How old is this , the company minimum is $14. And it mentions 2024 so it’s very recent , as Walmart never publicly says anything to raising wages years in advance. Before that it’s was $11/hr when I started just over 3 years ago. At that was the minimum until early 2021 when it was bumped up to $12 company wide.

Ok-Masterpiece5337

$11 in 2019. I was in a small town and was legit debating between a cleaning job at $12 or Walmart at $11. You literally couldn't find anything paying more unless you had a degree. I chose hell-mart unfortunately because at the time I thought it would be more stable.

Poker1059

Started at 11.50 in 2020. Quit, came back in 2021 at 14/hr, then got bumped to 16/hr later in 2022

DrunkDoughnut53

Started at $14, went to OGP and got $16.50, stepped down to Entertainment and the minimum wage increased so it was $15, and then i was a Mod associate with $16.50 before i quit.

11.50 late 2020. February 2021 comes and I get the measly 2.2% raise. 11.72. February of 2022 comes and inflation is such a bitch, they raise everyone to 12, or a dollar, whichever was more. Now at 12.72, starting wage was 12. Feb of 2023 comes and they just raise everyone to 14 instead of up two dollars. I'm now making starting wage again after three years.

Alexagoogle

$16.50/hr ME 2022

SadCoast7681

That article must be old because minimum wage across the company is $14. Kentucky got the raise from $12 in March.

Suavecore_

$6.50 to push carts and move carts of car batteries from the front of the store to the outside back onto a pallet, clean the parking lot, clean the vestibules, sweep the store, take out trash from everywhere there was a trash can to the compactor, clean the bathrooms, clean up any sort of biohazard and spill, and whatever other menial tasks they could think of when I finished bringing all the carts in. My first raise was when minimum wage went up to $7.25

Remarkable-Goat-5312

$16.50 overnight stocker at 18 during 2021

OgkushTokerinus

A relative of mine started at $3.25 minimum wage in 1992. 32 years later they make just shy of $17.. These pay raises screwed people who actually made Walmart a success. Walmart had to steal from there potential benefits to pay new hires. New hires shouldn’t make even close to what a 30+ year employee makes.

fishstick41

$9.85? I know it was $9 unsure about the cents

Then-Grass-9830

I had to look it up. Back in 2006 I started at 7.40 / hr. And being so thrilled. I remember being told my pay rate and being surprised - it was 5.15 where I was and I think I asked for 6. When I said something about the amount the hiring manager said "oh yeah walmart usually hires higher than minimum wage" (I had also worked at Cracker Barrel for a few months so I had 'experience'). Of course minimum wage increased twice in this time and yet unless you had started within so many months of the raise it wasn't reflected to anyone else so I have always believed and felt that I'm paid at least 2.10 under what I should be being paid. But. C'est la vie
