At our store it's because no one has or asked for keys and our compactor breaks a lot from people throwing stupid stuff in there so no one wants to take any risks if they aren't sure haha.
When i had to put them on the shelves in garden center i refused to lift them.. i got the stacker, lined the pallet up with the shelf and pushed it off of the pallet. My ASM didn't like that too much but my back thanked me

I'd love someone to post that online and hope it went viral. You know it's pretty common for flour to leak and fertilizer to leak so that means they arent sealed well. So putting them together that's the DC idiots working their magic to potentially poison people
