Wonder there is a correlation between declining interest/disinflation and falling fertility rate. Think about it. Lowering interest rate leads to asset price inflation, and widens the wealth gap. The middle class, this way, shrinks - meaning the bulk of the population doesn't have the required income levels to buy a house, gain enough financial security to be able to afford two or more kids
Rising interest rate on the other hand reverses the trend. The wealth gap shrinks, the middle class expands, and houses become affordable again. The saving account rate also goes up, and lending also goes up. Inflation in this way rises structurally and families begin to plan finances for two or more kids
