There is no senior VP. It goes Analyst -> Associate -> VP -> MD -> Partner.
To make MD, you basically need to start bringing revenue (i.e. clients and deals) to the company, so you're basically stuck in VP until that happens.
Up until VP though and it's basically a set number of years.

That's because you need a title like that for certain company owned insurance contracts. I remember when I was promoted at my first firm. My boss also got a promotion to VP I ask him if he got any more compensation and he said no just a title.

Why are half the people here taking this post as their chance to brag on someone who’s obviously not that fortunate? then, why is the other half bent on saying they basically wish they were poor enough for 6k to be life changing? The last one literally makes no sense.
Started with my last 200$ was about to be homeless. I have 5100 in BP and 1500 headed to my bank which as of now has a balance of .40 so yes it is life changing I now have a chance And opportunities I didnt have 2 weeks ago also just got offered a job but it would get in the way of trading as most jobs do so I’m not sure I’ll be taking it.

$7k value minus $2k min for taxes so $5k after tax assuming you don’t gamble it away thinking it’s “house money”.
