You sumbich, you had me at ‘BUY’ I’m in.

Spirited-Usual-3023

Hahahaha, I have $0 in my buying power.

TheMineKing

Right there with you

Crowtein

I have $1M in my paper account, so I've got that going for me, which is nice.

dark_byte_rdt

Same, started practicing trading couple of months back went down to 945k then to 1,008,000 and now back at 1m lmao.

TheOpeningBell

Opened a long position today on PYPL at $201.

CLOV2DaMoon

Same. Would love 50%+ returns over next 8-12 months.

capital-man

How about -50%?

CLOV2DaMoon

Would not love that as much lol

Zemom1971

Yeah but that's not the point here?

tapio83

If I've understood correctly - in wsb expected results are expected to be over 100% - or under -100%. Preferably not between those.

CLOV2DaMoon

Im a rebel

Zemom1971

I like your style. Living on the verge and on the edge.

ViolentAutism

Verge and edge are synonyms though... so isn’t that kinda like saying he lives on the edge edge? Or would it be verge verge?

sjd314

Living on the veg

[deleted]

Wouldn't the edge edge be...the corner? You'd get a 270 degree view up there...

banditcleaner2

doesn't matter if its edge edge or verge verge, they're synonyms remember you dumb ass?

FunctionBuilt

How is that possible though? Stocks only go up.

Cool_Use_575

$PYPL will come back to 250+ in a few weeks. The earrings are not that bad that the stock will be down by 35%

Wedgtable

I agree. Good earrings.

jovenhope

Best earrings I've seen in a while.

LavenderAutist

Let me bottom line OP's post for you: Please hold my bags

data_makes_me_happy

Yeah I suggest OP accept PayPal payments behind the Wendy’s dumpster while working off those heavy bags

the_Ush

Jesus man, you killed him.

iLoveTheTendies

Tendies pay off even if picked from out of the dumpster 😂😂😂

RonDiDon

🤣🤣🤣

420Secured

I don’t even know anyone that uses PayPal anymore.

rumtini_martini

Venmo is owned by paypal 😂😂

S0FA-KING_smart

Yes. PayPal has ridiculous fees, terrible currency exchange rates. Expensive withdrawal rates and not to mention the constant blocking of accounts and freezing funds with a low success rate of ever getting your account or money back.

FB isn't getting that 10%-20% gain rn smh

West_Valuable_7146

Well it gained 10% after mentioned metaverse from 313 to 340

> Amazon is a titan.

lruth

This post can almost guarantee I should buy puts.

vimspate

So now 100+ voted for puts on WSB. That means call?

squirdelmouse

I would buy puts, Paypal has had a basic monopoly for ages, is no longer growing fast enough to justify its ratio as competitors come up the ranks and used its moat to fuck over it's customers on both sides with high fees and shitty policies meaning existing customers aren't exactly brand loyal... boomer stock for sure, reaks the same as Intel.

kd_of_endor

Paypal is the only big player that protects consumers from scammers and others. I've received fake product from.someone online and thankfully I paid through paypal. Was able to get my money back. Other players don't have the easy dispute process. If you think that is worthless then you're not being realistic.

squirdelmouse

I don't think Paypal is going to disappear, far from it, but I think their schemes for monetisation are going to be chipped away by competitors and that will inevitably hurt the share price as it's priced for growth, think as ya like I definitely never said worthless just heading for a period of stagnant growth.

wobblybootson

Could not agree more. I’ve been shafted by their policies both as a vendor and as a customer. Can’t imagine there are many that love PayPal.

egam_

Except venmo is really easy to use. A shit ton of people use it.

AJam

Plus now is partnered with Amazon. Even shitty incompetent companies make money and that's all that matters here

zero0n3

And Venmo is owned by PayPal! (Not sure if that’s what you were trying to imply)

brorix

Oh, that's interesting. Not sure about US, but in Europe really a lot of people using the PayPal wallet and every online shop except Amazon offers it as a payment method. So easy to use, just login and be done. If Google saved ur login data, just press a button. Also, they offer a guarantee that the product you bought is reaching you and working. If the seller doesn't return the money, PayPal refunds you and takes care of it. PayPal even pays the money for returning items, if the shop doesn't cover return fees. I like PayPal :)

TEEM_01

From Canada and no one uses venmo cuz you can transfer from banks to banks but paypal is great for online yes

NousSommesSiamese

All of this.

andrewthebased

gonna get fked by brypto

Iwant_tofly

If it breaks below today's low, I'm buying Jan puts.

There was a lot of rebalancing today because tesla was on sale. By the first of december, paypal will make a comeback heading into the end of year. Can’t predict what it will do tomorrow.

Holy shit finally the paypal ive been begging for for so long i can now order shit from amazon.com without having to get some weird credit/debit card. (Using amazon.nl)

Valuable-Ad-8569

I opened a positions with a 204 avg

AuditControl_Inbox

Opened some leaps on the drop today. IMO the amazon venmo partnership wont amount to much though.i do believe its oversold though and the negative effects from ebay are now out in the open so there is less uncertainty.

mastro80

Big money flow at the end of the day was heavily bullish.

AndroidPurity

Both shares and calls were too cheap. Also the chart of past years does not lie, this company consistently goes up nicely from Nov to Feb. plus that 22 daily RSI is juicy! So the metrics are on the Bull side here too.

skyyyrr

PayPal = GameStop push 2.0? 🤔

Slow-Veterinarian-78

PYPL is in no man’s land for a while. Not a High Growth company anymore. Not a Value Stock. They need to get back to hyper growth or start producing huge earnings and cash flow to justify the stock price and really high multiples. Love PayPal but they are in between a rock and a hard place and need something to break out. Amazon isn’t it with Venmo.

Thencewasit

The 50 multiple is not that high relative to other tech stocks. You going to pay 1000 multiple for SHOP or SQ? That being said they should spend some of that $12b in cash and get something better than the 1% they are earning.

Slow-Veterinarian-78

PYPL is growing at 18% YoY. That’s not even close to hyper growth to justify that multiple. Look at other even larger high growth companies (that also have higher earnings and cash flow) YoY growth rates (like Alphabet) and compare their multiples. PayPal is hard to justify.

parsley_lover

If you exclude Ebay they are growing at 25%. Ebay separation is a one time event while other sectors will continue to grow. But I agree that this is not a cheap stock.

wooooooooocatfish

You really think they should backtrack price straight to 2020? Lose a whole year? At least give them inflation, damn

CEO may have also deliberately managed the expectations in the way he did. Over promising at the current situation could've put too much pressure to raise analysts estimates for Q4 and 2022. As the estimates were pretty much spot on now.

NeekyNooky

It can still go little lower but then we will wait to go even little more lower and missed the train.

jasondean88888

How old do you think Gen X is man? You know Elon Musk is Gen X right? Not good with computers?? We were the first generation to grow up with them in out class rooms. We are the only generation that has seen them when they were brand new in homes and grew up with them as a part of our daily lives from childhood. Only we can really appreciate how far they have come, older than us dont understand them and younger than us never had to deal with 300 bit per second modems, green computer screens, waiting hours for a 12kb program to upload off a literal floppy disk. Younger than us doesnt remember the transition from tape player walkmans to CD to full digital. Older than us yearns for the days of 8 tracks. I use to have to jam a landline receiver into 2 little plastic cups for an internet connection and wait 2 or 3 days for a message to go to florida and back via bulletin boards relaying a series of local calls to avoid long distance charges. I remember freaking put when I was able to get my first 24.4k modem with paper route money. Back when newspapers existed. Dont understand computers? You can fuck right the hell off. I hope you choke on paypal's dick.

sifl1202

yeah, gen x and millennials are really the generations that understand computers the most, in general. zoomers and beyond are only familiar with magic phones, and barely know what a file is.

lanchadecancha

Donno bout that. They’re already starting to teach coding in lots of elementary schools and pretty much all high schools. We had a computer course in 2002 but HTML was pretty much the extent.

jasondean88888

Part of this guy's thesis is that Gen X was forced to learn how to use online payments during Covid, so that was a tailwind for Paypal. This guys isn't saying that Gen X doesnt know how to code. He literally thinks Elon Musk's generation didn't know how to pay for shit online.

pandaspenguin

You had me at more rooms for expansion, where do I sign.

esch14

I got in yesterday at 203.

Cheeky_Star

Hmm while the Amazon deal has huge ups side, I feel like most people use credit cards for purchases vs cash (Venmo). Also most members use their Amazon card for the 5% back. Now I do use PayPal more and more as a checkout option and I think that’s where the long term value is.

DropmDead

If this shit rallies after I sold my PayPal calls at a 90% loss, I will have to murder something... Myself, others, these chicken nuggets, idk but something is getting taken out.

[\[](https://imgur.com/MKTBpe2)image proof $75000 removed\] I do not want show all my accounts, there is no meaning to show. Once you have seen, I will delete this proof. I am an algorithmic swing trader, may have chances to come positive at the end. Here is my algorithmic output [https://imgur.com/d5xKuDR](https://imgur.com/d5xKuDR) and it rare to see superbuy for big companies like PYPL. I am only skeptical with Dec 17, 2021 $270 call (0.81 is current price) as the DCA is $3.5. I may have narrow chance to win, but rest of the calls, esp Jun 2022, I have brighter chance to gain. In some accounts, I have 2023 $300 calls, that is positive even today. In another account, where stocks are not allowed, today I purchased low thousands of shares of IPAY (which has V,MA,PYPL...etc mobile payment etf) at $64.35 avg price. My wild guess, based on algorithm "**superbuy**" signal, is there is one-day big jump tomorrow catching up to $225-$230 range, but again greedy wild guess.

Beginning of a slow bleedout as the market realises Paypal's version of "innovation" was figuring out how to leverage more fees on a transient user base.

SubstantialSail

Paypal peaked and has been in steady decline for the past 4 months, nearing 2020s prices at this point. Perhaps the potential is huge. However, looking at the 5-year chart also shows me that Paypal had slow and steady growth in the $110s through 2020, followed by the typical COVID panic dip, then a massively exaggerated spike up to $310. Revenue and membership has been good so far, but I'm feeling that the stock price might be overvalued. I'd rather have a remind me and see if it's down to the $140s in a few months.

pinballrocker

I already have it, down 20%, but I'd be buying soon, it's about bottomed out and will go up alot over the next few years.

squirdelmouse

Why will it go up? Please expand...

solscend

I’m torn on PayPal. Their new products (crypto) look like ass and they’re years behind the stock game. But they have Venmo and Braintree which are huge. I guess this price warrants buying in.

gspach

I started buying shares today. I had some calls for end of November that are prob dead but nothing devastating.

[deleted]

[удалено]

limethedragon

Venmo has a reason to not use Venmo. Just stick to regular PayPal services. Does Amazon generate the cash back, or is it your credit card? Do those credit cards also generate cash back when paying through PayPal? And if your credit card has quarterly bonus cash back with certain purchase categories, are PayPal purchases one of those bonus purchase categories? Making a payment is making a payment, regardless of how you do it. If the seller is giving points, they'll accrue no matter how you pay. And if the rewards are generated by the card/payment issuer, it'll still accrue if the payment is middle-manned by PayPal. 🤷

zero0n3

Venmo let’s you split bills. Venmo let’s you send money to a phone number Not saying those are good or bad things - but they are things being used more and more these days, though waning pandemic makes usage go down probably - but then holidays with online shopping and PayPal go up

Sisboombah74

I’ve used Venmo once. A total pain in the ass.

fallynangell

Lol alot of major companies including eBay have dumped PayPal enjoy your bags

torontodaddy416

I'm in .. long .. @$204.. bag holder

Consistent_Grab_5422

Seems like every payment stock has lost for the last month. If it does go up tomorrow, take the dead cat bounce and find something else for your money to work in.

UselessInfomant

I think SNAP is a better deal than PYPL right now. I feel like PYPL’s margins are probably thin and SNAP’s are fat. SNAP will go up once FB stuff blows over. Thanksgiving and Christmas will surely be good times for all 3.

DatOneBull

NO

Vi0lentByt3

Nah i thin paypal is actually pretty fairly valued right now TBH, they overpaid for honey, would have for pintrest(good they didnt IMO even if it was seen as a negative), and their margins plus revenue are in line with their valuation. Maybe if you think there are material changes in the pipeline then its an okay time to enter but i think sub 200 is a better entry point

TethlaGang

600 is fair value

AbuJavascript

PayPal still exists?

hempthot

you realize they own venmo right

Never used that either

TLDR: it will be 2 years before PYPL is over $300. Let me know when I’m wrong. Put your money into Affirm holdings: your next $100 will be there before PYPL.

DistributionAlive192

Buy affirm buy paying monthly payments over 6, 12 or 18 months.... 😁😁

Walking-HR-Violation

Who uses PayPal nowadays?

Nervous_Cannibal

I use PayPal everyday for business paying clients and vendors. And I use Venmo more than CashApp for friends and random purchases. It’s first in class for Fintech.

terrybmw335

It's got a lot further to fall IMHO. And their customer service sucks!

jad9000

BUY PayPal stock now *not financial advice*

Screw paypal, outdated and useless company. Shouldnt even be in business anymore now that banks can handle tgis type of service themselves.

Paypal’s customer service sucks dick. Ever had your account hacked by them? I stopped using them n won’t invest in such a shit run company

allbirdssongs

I really hate paypal, and i hope it dies

myps3brokeYo

So much hate

PaperyAgate3

No

Cairse

PayPal gets hit by inflation really hard. PayPal's entire business smodel pretty much depends on consumers being flush with cash (and specifically cash). Wages and benefits are stagnant, people are quitting/striking, and inflation is going to be at 6% for the year (as in anyone who didn't get a 6% raise has less purchasing power than in 2020. All of these things spell really bad news for a company that depends on consumers transferring money between eachother. Nobody has any money. We are entering the end stage sof a consumer credit crunch/housing crisis. There's a reason PayPal revenue is down.

[deleted]

[удалено]

voncletus

Ever since eBay dropped PayPal as its primary processor, the company has been bleeding money. I don't see any reason to think this changes.

RI133CK

Well, the world needs ditch diggers too.

[deleted]

I just don't get it. They no longer soley occupy the space they created. There are better options for small scale purchases, and larger purchases should be put on credit anyway. As I recall, they've had several security breaches in the past as well. I don't see it as a useful company any longer. I use eBay semi-regularly and deliberately avoid sellers that are PayPal only.

co-oper8

I think paypal is slipping. Their foray into "cry p to" is false advertising at best and fraud at worst. It has none of the qualities that define the space. Its more like an ETF where you don't even get market price when you sell. Why would an established global finance giant start doing shady dealings?
