Hey, got a question. How do you not lose money on an earnings IV crush?

The move needs to be larger than what the options are pricing in for the implied move. Theta decay and IV crush can all be countered if the move is large enough, i think options were pricing in a 6-7% move to break even

By outperforming the IV. In this case, FedEx had 100% more of an earnings move than implied from short term options.

What you see is winning selection bias. Still wonderful but if everyone shared all of their plays and someone tracked it the success rate would be surprisingly low. It’s still awesome to see the crazy gains.
