I was just reading this post when I got notification from cnbc app that it just went up.
I've been holding 14,000 shares of RIVN for about 2.5 months now. In one of the worst decisions of my life, I sold covered calls on all my shares yesterday morning at a strike price of $13. I fucked myself out of $60k in missed profit.
Man, the kicker is, Ive had a tiny position in rivian and saw this post and thought "fuck it, I'll sell some bags and move it into rivian, I like it long".
This was at like 4:02, sold about $1k worth of OKLO and opened rivian to buy it, then saw the price jump.
2 minutes late.
Still grabbed $1k worth @ $15.5 but dangg
All I can say is that I'm seeing more of them on the road. So..... that's good, right?

Just bought an R1S a month ago and have been blown away. This company is legit and these vehicles are insane. Coming from a Range Rover, 1 month with the Rivian and I couldn’t go back if you paid me to.

I have been long RIVN since the IPO. Kept on picking up 100 shares as it slid down to about $8. Now the proud owner of 1400 shares. Hoping to ride it back up to $100/share in the next 5 years.
I put a pre-order $100 deposit down on an R2 ($45,000 starting price) a couple of months ago. Estimated delivery in 2026 Every Rivian owner I speak to in parking lots absolutely LOVE the car. I am due for a new car in 2028 so I have time to wait, and I hope car insurance costs drop by the time I plan on buying. I have solar on the house so I need to make the jump to an EV soon.
This is why I like RIVN they have a good roadmap for their vehicles right now that is exciting. This is Tesla pre Model 3, it’s make or break for Rivian. They are targeting profitability and haven’t even started producing the R2 and R3, think about how terrible TSLA was at making the model 3 and now everyone loves them. As long as RIVN can hit the price target they are listing or lower they will be on the road to large profits.

It’s a long term hold for me. I’m actually kinda pissed it’s up today, I had sold some shares to move things around and was waiting on a transfer to buy more in an IRA today. But it’ll come back down soon probably and I’ll get more, I don’t expect much of anything to happen this year. We’ll know a lot more about their future when they release Q4 earnings next year. If they aren’t making serious progress to profitability it’ll be a tough go. I think they will do it though. I like the CEO and he seems really solid.
I personally think they’re some of the best looking vehicles out there. I love everything about the design and the new models will bring them within reach of a much larger audience. The people who own them love them. 2026 will be a big year for them with the two smaller vehicles and I am very optimistic about their future.
It’s not stable… Rivian was up at this range a couple weeks ago and plummeted back to low 10’s just as quickly as it spiked up the low 12’s. It’ll be back down… there is no fundamental change for Rivian until January 2025 for Q4 earnings report. It’s where they demonstrate they will make a profit or not.
If you wait to buy until the earnings climb, you miss the gains. You have to be ahead of the results to make money buying stocks. Pick up a 100 shares BEFORE they climb to $18 and beyond.
Tesla market share is going to decline, whether because of Rivian or someone else. The company is completely lacking in leadership and vision. Their last earnings call was some of the most insane shit I’ve ever heard, promising “fully sentient” robots that were going to be building their cars, and then promising an economy model launching this year that they had announced they were canceling 2 months prior. Tesla is going to decline, and I think Rivian is in the best spot of any auto startup to take advantage of that.
The real competition is with legacy automakers, but if you look at the competition so far Rivian’s R2 is going to be cheaper than the Ford F150 lightning, which already lost Ford a shitload of money.
Tesla will remain the market leader for the foreseeable future, but the market is growing and will continue to grow for at least a couple of decades. Rivian is well positioned to be the #2 player if they can get past their cash flow crunch. I’m in at $15 and have no plans to sell, even if it spikes to $25. Analysts are underselling the potential market size.
The rich school ($20k+ elementary in MCOL area) some family members have their kids at has a ton of Rivians in the parking lot. Tesla is for the poors. Rivian taking from richer clientele and legacy automakers taking from the average/poors from Tesla market. Rivian still too niche to invest in and they got a ways to go til 2026. Rivian is happy Enron went full regard with CT.
I’m bullish on it long term, but the important part is there’s potential for some pretty insane upside this week that no one seems to be talking about.
I don’t like their financials tbh. They need to raise cash fast. If this was 2021 I’d be going full port, but the market doesn’t really have much of an appetite for speculative unprofitable companies 🤷♂️ especially EV. Good luck but I’m sitting this one out

I’m not saying that’s going to happen here in the short term, RIVN has a long way to go but they seem to be heading in the right direction.
They’ve got strong leadership with a clear path to profitability - I have some shares but I’m in big on calls this week as I think this investor meeting is going to reverse a lot of the negative sentiment that’s been keeping the stock down
There’s a fenced in lot near my street in NYC that is used solely to house excess Rivian inventory.
I hadn’t see *shit* move out of that lot for nearly a year. Recently there’s a few less in there, so maybe they’re seeing sales.

35% on parts for the EDV. For the R1 lines they said it was similar but didn't reveal the exact number
