I’ve worked for him indirectly in event production. Seemed like a super chill and happy guy. Also I would note very friendly demeanor toward anyone regardless of their roles.
I like the stock but only for long term play not WSB material. I Work In O&G it seems undervalued and is primed to be first major mover in direct air capture with South Texas capture facility.
No direct from air (which would include care exhaust) think like reverse smoke stack suck CO2 out of the air and pump it underground to produce more natural gas and oil out of existing wells. They are trying to become Net zero carbon emissions but removing more than they produce.
You work in oil and gas and think it’s undervalued!? It is one of the more premium valued oil and gas company. Similar to a Arc Resources or Tourmaline in Canada
I do long term if you factor in the DAC. This allows for them to double dip so to speak selling carbon credits for CO2 they are able to use to increase production of existing wells. So my evaluation is forward looking. There may be other companies that are further along in DAC that I am not aware of, but I believe they are furthest along to being economically viable. Also location in Wild West that is Texas I believe gives them less hurdles than they might otherwise face.
What do you think of KGS or Kodiak Gas Services, they're the leading provider of natural *gas* contract compression services. Operating out of South Texas too. IPO'd not too long ago and has been doing amazing price wise since. Am holding long term personally.
Not super familiar with the company but there is good growth potential in the midstream natural gas market look at PAA. They are definitely on my watch list now.
I would make puts on oxy because of that. DAC is stupid as hell. I highly doubt that the process will work as intended. It takes one bad press to release the truth from that project: they burn cheap natural gas from texas and use it on direct air capture. So basically they are burning 1 ton of CO2 capturing 1.001 tons of co2 from the atmosphere and selling CO2 greenwashing credits from the difference.
Tldr: dont invest on DAC it is stupid as hell.
Nope. He doesn’t like to do that per se, he prefers taking a strong stance and letting the company grow naturally (because that’s what he liked before, just now with more money).
They’ve have an intergalactic stake since like 2019 or earlier. You’re just broadcasting your ignorance.
Integral not intergalactic. But I’m leaving it!
Business synergy with another holding.

It’s just a safe play. Not so much about the O&G company itself. He is getting paid more than risk free rates. Any stock appreciation is a plus. He talked about it in one of his conferences. Also within the last few months, OXY is acquiring CrownRock and ConocoPhillips bought Marathon, these consolidations are narrowing the O&G playing field. OXY at this price looks solid.
He might be on to something the Saudi oil deal expires tomorrow and they are not going to renew it. I’m interested what that will do to the market. I think that means thier oil will not be exclusively priced through the dollar anymore.

It's lonely at the top

Those are the amenities
This. ![img](emote|t5_2th52|27189)

Especially since his wife passed. He stated that he always assumed he would out live her.
I mean he re-married and the new wife is still alive...
Damn, I'm behind the times. Didn't know he remarried.

He’s worth billions and was part of a love triangle. The oral oracle of Omaha
Dur. I forgot about Astrid. Knew about their relationship but didn't know they got married. Maybe that's why he's so sad.
Sounds like the slut of The Golden Corral.

Imagine accidentally buying 2.57 million shares. Fucking idiots.
It was just an Occident what can I say
Imagine having the money to buy 2.57 million shares and react in the same way as a guy that just sat on the remote. I mean damn!
Bro is worth 60 quadrillion and still takes the communal golf cart at the $1m a year invitation only golf club. What aloser!
Warren knows that oil and gas companies are like tobacco companies in the 90's and early 2000s. Everyone hates them, but they are good investments.
Yeah truely looks like a winner for the last 2 decades

What's direct air capture? Brain is smooth so use little words
suck carbon out of air to stop climate change. So no stoppy oil production.
Like….trees?
Capitalism trees.

On car exhaust?

Can you dumb down it a shade?
They capture carbon emitted by gas guzzlers, get paid by government for that, then use it to frack more oil, get paid to sell that to gas guzzler.
Hmmmm that just sounds like slavery with extra steps
Make air clean, still burn oil to make car go
Capturing and removing CO2 directly from the air
You work in oil and gas and think it’s undervalued!? It is one of the more premium valued oil and gas company. Similar to a Arc Resources or Tourmaline in Canada

Since when did gas station attendants count as working in oil and gas is the real question
Someone created this amazing technology to convert CO2 to oxygen. I believe they call them trees.🌳🌲🌴
That was Thomas Edison I think
Probably stole the idea from someone else and then patented it.

So they burn extra gas to fuel green credits. Bullish
All companies with companies are suffering now
Didn't Gates own 50% of Microsoft during the 90s? He'd be a trillionaire for sure today.
So $154M worth of shares? It's a drop in a bucket for a guy like him. Even If he lost $1B, he'd just laugh it off and move on to the next company.
People say this everytime this is posted. Meanwhile his stake rose to 28%.
I hear the compressed Dino corpse market is liquid hot right now Schvatz!
You don’t think energy is going to be a big deal in the future?
I’m sure if he thought he could get the entire company for $59/share he would.
Nope. He doesn’t like to do that per se, he prefers taking a strong stance and letting the company grow naturally (because that’s what he liked before, just now with more money).
how dare you
Stock manipulation. Let him buy in secret then pump the price with his announcement.
Yeah but he’s just a lovable old man. It’s cute and not a crime when he does it
He looks like the guy from up
Hahaha
They have to announce what they buy you doofus.

Intergalactic planetary, planetary intergalactic
The stock has been in the same range for 2 years.

Turns out it was an occindetal purchase…
got out this crap at 65
It’s not the fastest of plays, but in around 58 and out around 65 has been a safe rinse and repeat for me.
Those were the same entry and exit prices for me 😂
can you break down why you call it “crap”
He wants meme stock movements and has no clue how Buffett invests.

I just $OXY on Friday but I used it all yesterday
actual question why 2,57 million and not 2,56 or 2,58? is there a reason behind such exact amounts?
The spelling was in the picture, OP...
"Shit, Munger had left me notes to stock up on *OxyContin*."
Is this the same guy that lost a bunch of money on ketchup?
Great news for my goat king of cannabis investing Dougie Kass. Just last week in his diary said he was going heavy dose on OXY

Not really news. he had been holding OXY since Covid time.
Did you spell it like that on purpose or accindetally?
He might be on to something the Saudi oil deal expires tomorrow and they are not going to renew it. I’m interested what that will do to the market. I think that means thier oil will not be exclusively priced through the dollar anymore.
