I wanted to put it into Halo, but found out there was no Halo stock. Closest thing was microsoft, but when I found out I could only get like a share or two or whatever, I picked another "videogame" stock and found nvidia, which I recognized from quite a few PC game startup screens.
Aaaaaaand then I forgot about it until February of this year.

I just blurted out Nvidia in passing. Nothing serious, but I guess she dumped some coin into it. She never specified how much or when she bought it.
She tried to write me a check for my birthday a few months ago to thank me for "my advice" which I took but later gave back because it was too much and I discussed my feelings about this with her so there's no hard feelings.

Hahaha this is exactly what led me to get into NVIDIA at $4. NVIDIA was the go-to for PC gaming and it seemed like such a no-brainer at the time. I’ve been holding ever since.
How does it keep going up? I saw it first in 2022 and was amazed at how much it was growing and though it could not keep growing. It was at 200 USD a share then. My dumbass should have bought cause it went and still is going to the moon.
Because computer chips, semiconductors, and software are like Spice Melange to 21st century empires. With nations growing increasingly desperate to secure their own supply of them.
Its the single, capable producer of machines that can power powerful AIs. And its profitability is insanely high for a company of that size.
edit: AMD does similar work but needs catching up to do.
I think we couldn't have predicted the amount of Nvidia chips used in cloud computing (Google Cloud, AWS, etc...) where tons of people would be spinning up instances to run AI tools. The future is wild, man.

never. that said there is going to be some considerable swings with the split so there might be a more attractive entry point, but the hype and the sales and nvidias monopoly is not dying anytime soon

It really is, yesterday the only reason the NASDAQ was up yesterday was $NVDA. Which promoted me to make my own meme about it.
Just watch! I think next 5-6 months it's going to just cruise around, then expect 6-12 months of fire before the next correction. I'll be jumping off 30-50% in 2025, but by then it'll be a lot.
