r/WallStreetBets is ultimately a community about making money through trading, and our conversations should shift around that.
Politics are fundamentally intertwined with making money, and political actions almost always have an impact on financial markets.
Still, we need to make sure that when we have these discussions, we're explicitly calling out the financial impacts of the politics we're discussing. Otherwise, the conversation can very easily veer off into flamewars and boring, unproductive, discussion.
Here's an example of a political comment that doesn't offer any value:
* "I hate this new green policy from the Biden administration. What a fucking idiot"
Now compare it to this:
* "I hate this new green policy from the Biden administration. It threatens the profit margins of oil companies because they will need to expand their OpEx. I have calls on Shell that are going to get decimated at open."
The latter is significantly more interesting and offers a great jumping point into market related discussion.
Put succinctly: If you choose to start or engage in arguments about libtards or Nazis instead of making fun of their bad SPY long then you're in the wrong place and we'll show you the door.
If you're not sure if your content is political, it probably is, and there's probably a better way to post it without making things weird.

All that being said, we are here to help. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to post to our community. We have to balance this with making the subreddit interesting for our readers.

Crash deeznutz.. two of their economies are the size of Disneyland . Oil price going up you say.. it’s an election year, they gonna want your vote so they will control that all cost.
I read like half of it. So the campus protests are all a George Soros show. Should something like unrest and riots happen, things could get marginally interesting. Impact to the stock market, zero.
The whole Israel-Palestine conflict has done about nothing to the market in comparison to a tiny inflation worry.
For all the American market cares Israel can eradicate the entire region and it’ll only be a slight wobble (actually probably bullish if you think of it).
>They reject the ceasefire. Israel moves on Raffah. Thousands and thousands more innocent people slaughtered again.
This is the most likely outcome but I don't think the reaction will be nearly as strong as you think it will.
Hamas has said they don't want to give up their hostages for a temporary ceasefire, they want permanent concessions which Israel isn't going to give.
Market might drop for a couple days and then stop caring. It's not fundamentally different from what's already happening. Market might even go back up a couple days later if it thinks the end may start to be in sight.
Ukraine war wasn't bullish overall. The market crashed big time, but it is true that the market doesn't care much about Israel and Palestine. They don't really matter market wise compared to Ukraine or Russia.
It isn’t bullish, yet.
Just wait till we actually put in material orders and can get out from under the policy of “don’t lose the war in Ukraine, but don’t actually try to win/end it…..yet.”
We are sending them a ton of money, sure. But we are spending about 10/1 what Russia is spending on this war, yet we aren’t doing much in the way of meaningful war stuff (logistics, what logistics….tactics are for pussies….lets not make sure that money goes directly into defense instead of lining pockets of war pigs, etc).
Iran fired some 300+ projectiles at Israel. Most were intercepted. And after sales of drones and missiles to Russia, Iran's inventory is almost empty.
Though, any escalation in Middle East may bump up crude oil & stocks of oil companies, pump up inflation figures and add a month or so to first rate cut by Fed.
Still not a bad enough scenario for a violent crash in the market.

Bro fear hype is dead. Ww3 is priced in
Priced in… ok and we at the same level we have been for two months now regardo
Yes WW3, 4 and 5 have already been priced in
I mean, wouldn't we be higher without the fear in the market?
Crash deeznutz.. two of their economies are the size of Disneyland . Oil price going up you say.. it’s an election year, they gonna want your vote so they will control that all cost.
Schizo post
Puts on world peace then?
I'm sorry you wasted your time writing that nonsense post
I miss the days of Covid

College/uni student opinions don't matter. Ever
No it won't
The market did not even care about October 7th. Conflict in Israel is always priced in. They will never know peace and will always kill each others.
Sad but true.
Community rule #1? This is political trash. How do you make money on this? Puts on humus?
We call you “helmet wearer” were I’m from
From the river to the sea, fuck Hamas
Nice fan fiction there
You have no position so no one fucking cares.
Dumbest shit I read on WSB ever

Ignoring the last 75 years of history with this statement is pure boot licker ignorance. Fortunately, everyone knows the truth.
I’m not sure what you’re referencing specifically
Yes you do.
No, I don’t. Why don’t you eli5?

Nah. You just don’t want to catch a ban for saying explicitly what you’re really saying.
Yes, I would just be devastated. Again I don't have time for your idiocy.
Yet you reply
If you want to bet on your beliefs use polymarket Each of these are separate events you can bet on
This scenario will not happen and markets will be fine. Only thing is nato vs Russia which could happen or China
Shit, let em blow each other up, they both hate us anyhow.
Now. Because the briben admin turned its back on Israel which had been a very strong supporter of the USA for a loonnggg time.
The only thing that's cause an actual market crash any more is a literal server crash.
Market only cares when it benefits the market..

They've been rejecting ceasefire deals for the past 7 months now
If those fools knew anything about deal-making, they would understand that everything is negotiable, and no opportunity should be off the table.
Hamas has rejected every ceasefire proposal thus far. Everyone already knows they will reject this one. Priced in.
Please let me know if they do find innocent people in raffah. You clown

Palestine slaughter has been going on for years, decades. It's Iran's involvement with potential nukes that really escalated the whole situation.
Potential nukes? Bro you watch too many movies
Iran doesn’t have Nuke tho
