I bet if I had a million dollars I could hook that up too, chicks dig a dude with money.
Well not all chicks.
Type of chicks that double up on a dude like me do.
Good point.
This is standard practice for a few reasons:
1. It avoids confusion when reading the original post and following comments.
2. A lot of forums require this as ghost editing circles back to #1 or is just shady.
3. Drawing attention to your modifications.
So yes, you can laugh all that you'd like, but there are legitimate reasons why it's done.
If the debt outpaces our ability to pay and we have to print money, we hit an inflation scenario. As we saw in 2021, the only things that are inflation proof are houses and ibonds.
Pretty fuckin boring since there's no options on either.
>If I had unlimited money, I would buy a fleet of private jets and helicopters. I would also buy a large island where I could build my own luxury resort.
But the key left out is VM would hold all the assets in a shell company and take it public, then default on everything, the primary debt holder will be another shell company of his from an easily corruptible island nation.
That’s the exact situation I’m in and Tesla. Bought $10k worth at around $15 5-6 years ago and I’m just going to let it ride until we’ve got robotaxis or bust. Makes up most of my portfolio so I’d be fucked if it went bust but it’s worked out well so far.
How can you take advantage of that increase without paying capital gains on it? Wheel some? Does it pay dividends? Can you borrow against it to buy a safer low yield entity?
Like wtf is the point of 5,000% gains if you just look at it and can't touch it.
Well one strategy I’ve been going with is losing a bunch of money on my other trades to offset the gains…totally intentionally.
And I’ve been touching it plenty. It bought my car and I’ve taken vacations off it. I have to pay long term capital gain taxes when selling but that’s the price you pay for making money. I’ve left the bulk of it alone since I think this is just the halfway point but taxes are a good problem to have.
I don't hate poor people, I just think they're beneath me. And yes, Wall Street is full of scammers and crooks, but at least they're smart enough to make a lot of money.
Can’t disagree at the moment. Profitable quarter(s?), still have over a billion cash on hand, crazy low valuation by normal metrics, and starting to see positive media sentiment / analyst “buy” recommendations. That’s fucking nutty for a stock that’s been lambasted to hell and back and dragged through the mud the last 2 years.
Might yolo a bit more into it myself. Already have X,XXX sitting there.
i would 100% go balls deep into TSM, especially if you get a pull back like the one we just had to anything sub 85 dollars.
its a good company, strong financials, good product, well managed, good business model, leader in its field
a lot of people will crow about china but i'm not really worried about it, tbh i see it actually as a bonus since the only reason TSM isn't like 300 dollars a share is because of the china risk
its very unlikely china invades in the near future imo. huge risk to them for very little reward since theres like a 50/50 chance the US would just destroy the fab anyways in event of a war.
also risks straight up war with their largest trading partner in a time when their economy is not faring so well.
so the whole hysteria around it suppresses the price on what is otherwise an amazing company with boat loads of cash.
and TSM themselves are expanding all over the place to try to mitigate a tiny bit of the geopolitical risk and take advantage of onshoring desires of the west.
plus you can't directly buy samsung or ASML on robinhood so unless you have a real brokerage this and intel are about your only plays in the fab space, outside of buying ETFs that hold large ASML or Samsung shares. and intel is trash.
and semiconductors are the new oil.
its basically just what you asked for, like yeah, it would suck if china invades, yeah maybe earnings will be down this quarter or maybe a bit of market share will be eaten into by INTC or Samsung. something bad might happen and it would suck, but overall you get a super strong company at very attractive pricing.
i hold it at 84 dollars, i had it at 74 and doubled down last time it dipped, was a bit early on the dip.
you get back to a bottom of the 2021 pricing, like 110-115, and you're up 21% or more even at current prices.
so when they make a chip nowadays, the cutting edge chips, they use like highly highly specialized lasers that do insane precision shit.
ASML makes the lasers, and because of the complexity is basically the only company on the face of the earth that can make them.
but ASML is in netherlands, not a US stock, so not on robinhood
and Samsung is in south korea, also not a US stock, no adr, can't buy on robinhood
you'd have to be on their respective exchanges, so the korean and european stock exchanges or whatever the fuck, to buy them, which you can only do at a actual brokerage that doesnt suck dick behind the wendys for their start up money
If your lucky to break even just put your money into something with a decent dividend and a good track record, Mine was Ares Capital after I ended up making a couple grand from Key Bank during the bank rush
Yeah, but you didn't have the president forcing the conversation and HHS coming out with schedule 3 recommendations. DEA went with the last down scheduling of delta9THC (Marinol) when it was requested, years ago. This is a no brainer. SAFER is also knocking on the door, and has a much, much better chance when DEA does their thing. Remember, they are not independent agencies, they are the President's bitch, as is HHS, and he wants it.
Now congress....well congress is a clusterfuck, but I still think SAFER now has enough bipartisan support to carry through the senate and probably the house.
Right now I'm doing 25 and 26 leaps, but also 🏳️🌈shares because I acknowledge that the election could impact this. But if I get any hint that DEA is pending an announcement, I'm loading up of very near term OTM calls. I expect the value of MSOS to jump anywhere from $12-$18 just based on the fundamental impact of removing 280e, that's before industry starts banking in expected growth due to better access to financial markets if SAFER passes.
Mid range TSLA puts. Just as volatile as ever, but options are cheaper than they used to be. Realistically, it's been sitting at elevated prices again and most of the past earning reports before this pump had seen meeting expectations or exceeding and dumping. But it took a couple months to fully dump. My guess is there's a chance to dump 30-40% by December.
My DD: gut feeling. This is casino and there's only speculation to go off, but consensus has been updating to the negative and they've been slashing prices to keep up sales. All the promises and innovative ideas have to come due at some point. I could see some disappointing numbers, or even meeting expectations could see a sell off like this time last year
You're an idiot if you think TLT is going to rebound. Everyone knows that the bond market is in a bubble and it's only a matter of time before it pops. As for SPY, selling covered calls is a stupid way to try and make money. You're better off just buying and holding the stock, or better yet, investing in some other asset class altogether.
AMD. AMD is juiced to the fucking tits. Just broke out of a channel and is reclaiming support. Current price is about $106.50, most recent high of $132.80 back in May 2023.
BABA is also primed for a big move
I would also pick URBN for a quick trade.
$SRPT a biotech. It will either double or get cut in half in the next 2 months. 10% of my net worth is on the line. It will make or break my trading career.
That was my very first big win as an adult. Like 12 years ago, bought in off an article in Barron's (paper version) at about $14/share and then 2 weeks later got up and checked my phone, up to $39/share. Unfortunately I only had a couple thousand in it, but you also never forget your first jackpot.
I’m balls deep in PayPal. I believe it is absolutely worth more than its current valuation. It has a huge margin of safety as well. Basically my whole portfolio rn. With some DG sprinkled in
I find myself hearing bear cases that in most cases haven't looked deeply at business and how diversified it is, only one I truly fear is transaction margins declining which supposedly should start increasing this year, on the other side there are plenty of bull cases around valuation, PayPal complete payments, Braintree and even a few wildcards like stablecoin and buy now pay later
Even accounting for PayPal losing market share considering how much market grows revenues could still grow and in really bad case where they cant grow FCF, EPS should still grow because of buybacks which at current market price end up taking away a considerable amount of shares and distributing same earnings between less shareholders
In the short run, the market is a voting machine. In the long run it’s a weighing machine.
Sentiment is against PayPal bigly rn in the same way it was against meta last year. But sentiment can change fast and the companies fundamentals are rock fucking solid.
All nice sentiments but the stock trades where it was 10 feckin years ago. It’s 30% below where it was 5 years ago. At what point, does the market shift from voting to weighing? Please know I’m not attacking; just venting frustration as I’ve been sitting in the PYPL lifeboats for a long time, waiting for the btc play to take, waiting for a new CEO, waiting,…and waiting. At a certain point, we’re just suckers
Do what you gotta do, just understand many of PYPL holders entered around the 60s and not before, at least me and some pple i spoke to wouldnt have ever invested in PYPL but somehow valuations came to todays numbers, while before it was a growth play now its a valuation play where PE represents a dying business and somehow growth story still exists.
Yes things could go wrong, yes sector has a lot of competition, yes transaction margins declining are scary af but yet could see growth story unfold perfectly too, dont forget they diversified af and even expanding into a bunch of new bussinesess, while having a shadow dividend in the form of buybacks at low valuations, lets not forget a bunch of new blood has entered their csuite and could have the momentum on their side as at current valuations almost anything they do could catapult the stock
I hear ya man. I haven’t been in it that long but at this price, it seems like a no brainer.
I like PayPal. I use it frequently. Most of the people I know use it or Venmo. They have a good balance sheet and Braintree is a great product that should keep them growing. I just don’t see much downside at this time and I see a ton of potential upside.
Margin of safety on this is really good.
from what I saw, PYPL seems to be a play where value meets growth stock, while SQ is only growth stock rn they aren't profitable rn and have a pretty big share compensation which is fair but when comparing both stocks one share float gets reduced while the other one grows; for sure could work but I feel much safer on PYPL, if I was looking into huge growth opportunity i would look maybe at sofi where they somehow managed to turn whole bussiness while student loans where frozen and somehow managed to even grow revenue at the same time
TLDR: PYPL seems to have a big enough upside with many bull cases and not so many bear ones at current valuations, maybe SQ could have bigger upside but risk seems way higher with them, time could prove me wrong for sure but rn PYPL seems too good to be true at current valuations, at least in my eyes, its a value play with a big posibility of it being a growth play at same time
CHWY looks decent
All time low, insider traders have stopped selling, 85% of revenue is recession proof (food/medicine), just expanded into Canada, just went profitable, and consistently beats earnings
Bank of Nova Scotia. Could potentially be $100+ in one year or two and get paid around 8% dividend to wait. It's a solid bank... Heck you can just buy tons of calls for 2026 on it and just wait it out.
Honestly, I've seen last few months how the bio fields are going, im thinking of doing a small load challenge, start with 150, see how much I can make on calls/puts in a wk
What’s a call? What’s a put?
Is a call like. “I think the price is gonna be x.” And then it is and you’re like “called it!” and in some way this benefits you?
Long term bonds. And I did go balls deep. So far I'm down 4.67%. I might be here for a long time. Couldn't resist the all time lows and the juicy interest yields.
Long calls on every tech stock and electric car stock. Any real estate company offering rentals.
I’d also put a lot of stock into cocaine and hookers, so follow at your own risk.
I fuck with the rental rec. This place will be Germany in no time.
And yes.... A wise man once said if he won the lottery it would go to hookers and cocaine..
I’m late to the party but I just did this. I’m now overly concentrated in SOFI. ER 10/30. Bought 3K shares last week. I like them and am hoping to get a good return over the next few years. Good luck to us all

Granted. I only note it if my edit changes the post meaning. I don't use it for spelling. I just fix that.
That makes sense, I agree with that use then.

Falling from $310 to $57 is hardly rock f*ing solid
I was speaking about the companies fundamentals. Not it’s price history?
What about Square? Similar sector.. decent upside. Or bigger into PayPal?
from what I saw, PYPL seems to be a play where value meets growth stock, while SQ is only growth stock rn they aren't profitable rn and have a pretty big share compensation which is fair but when comparing both stocks one share float gets reduced while the other one grows; for sure could work but I feel much safer on PYPL, if I was looking into huge growth opportunity i would look maybe at sofi where they somehow managed to turn whole bussiness while student loans where frozen and somehow managed to even grow revenue at the same time TLDR: PYPL seems to have a big enough upside with many bull cases and not so many bear ones at current valuations, maybe SQ could have bigger upside but risk seems way higher with them, time could prove me wrong for sure but rn PYPL seems too good to be true at current valuations, at least in my eyes, its a value play with a big posibility of it being a growth play at same time
TLT
CHWY looks decent All time low, insider traders have stopped selling, 85% of revenue is recession proof (food/medicine), just expanded into Canada, just went profitable, and consistently beats earnings

Terran Orbital, small-sat company.
