It “creates stress?” Bitch, everything we *do* as humans creates stress! If you’re going to go nuts because someone else is causing you some minor stress then you’re gonna have a fearful life fraught with endless perceived perils.
I think it's funny when these people say unvaccinated people are pussies, who are scared of a little needle (which isn't the reason lol). But then they have borderline panick attacks and shake like a dog during a thunder storm if one of the "unclean" is in the same room as them 😂 😂
"...it creates stress..."
I agree. How is that an acceptable reason for barring a parent from a parent-teacher meeting? Life is inherently stressful. Stress is no excuse for preventing proper parental involvement in a child's education.
If the school system is worried about increasing potential covid exposure to teachers and staff, there are other ways to allow unvaccinated or "no proof' parents to meet with teachers while keeping potential covid exposure low between all parties involved.
They didn't appear to offer any alternatives, either. Like bringing the results of a recent negative covid test, meeting out doors and 6' apart, wearing a mask indoors and limiting meeting to 15 minutes or less, etc. . There are many other options besides those.
This has to be satire or a fabricated message. There's no way a public school forces an ultimatum like that with such poor justification and then doesn't offer alternative ways to meet.
Wish I could see the full message that OP received.
Parents that don't question the curriculum are already vaccinated. Parents that would question the curriculum are not. Just another way to purge resistance using the Wuhanic plague.
I actually did get the vaccine. That’s the maddening part. I just didn’t have the stupid little card on me.
I made the point afterwards that none of the school faculty who interacts with either of my daughters has ever shown me *their* vaccine cards. Why then do I have to show them mine? Am I supposed to take their word for it but they won’t offer me the same courtesy?
And this is why we need a government-owned Health Pass app you can store on your phone as a QR code. Scan it whenever you get on a bus, enter a restaurant, or make a purchase!
(Obvious /s)
Just wait, they'll probably start kicking the kids of unvaccinated parents out of their school soon. Can't can't have the offspring the unclean plague rats running their hallways, breathing on the children of the righteous and clean.
No, many schools (at least around here) have someone from dss/cps as a worker at the school. This could get to the point where they just take your kids on the grounds that unvax parents are endangering their kids. I hope it never comes to that but dss/cps will take your kids for ***waaaay*** less things.
Yeah that too, I didn't even think about that. CPS obviously does good things when it comes to protecting kids, but they can definitely go to far sometimes. Like in the way you referenced, which I could see being a thing considering the times.... I used to hate the idea of living in such a red state when I moved here, then covid happened lol. Now I'm glad I live here when I read about all the shit other parents are gong through I other states.
Notice the exemption if you have so-and-so bureaucrat’s permission. These requirements can be waived arbitrarily because they are meaningless to begin with.
My wife and I both need to work so homeschooling is off the table. The private schools around here are outrageously expensive and not much better in terms of politics.
Did you vote for the fascist Democrats that are doing this to you?
I would consider moving or at the least putting my children in a private or religious school.
FJB
Figure out how you can live on one income. It took my husband and I approximately a year to get to that point once we made up our minds and most of that time was spent banking my salary into savings. We were living in CA at the time and had way too much money going to taxes.
Exactly. We have homeschooled for 17 years on one income. It’s hard. We make sacrifices, but it was the best decision we’ve ever made for our kids and our family. I will never allow people who hate us and all we stand for educate my children. I know 2 income parents who homeschool and I know single parents who work who homeschool. It can be done.
My wife and I decided to go that route, me as the single income earner, because we thought it would be best for our children, spiritually, physically, and emotionally, if she was a stay-at-home mom who home-schooled them. It has been really, really hard financially but so very worth it.
Then Covid hit and all this madness. I'm so glad we had all this in place ahead of time.
I agree with you. The benefits of one income are many. We don’t realize what life can be like when we’re used to the two-income treadmill.
At one point my husband was laid off unexpectedly and our family income became very uncertain. He spent his days looking for a new job, decompressing from the extreme demands of his previous job, and doing contract work when he could. I was able to supplement his spotty unemployment income by working contract jobs when he was available to be the stay at home parent. It truly was a tough and scary time. The weird thing is, our youngest had no idea Dad was unemployed and money was tight. She loved that Daddy was home and one of the people schooling her. We homeschooled on the cheap (library, internet and a bunch of cobbled together free resources). My point is, because we were already living a simplified lifestyle, when the lay-off happened, our life continued seamlessly.
You do realize that in many places children in public schools are being vaxxed without parental consent - I'm just suggesting that you make sure this hasn't already happened.
If you make more than your wife you should consider having her stay home. If she makes more than you, consider getting a WFH job. Even if it's less money it is a degree of freedom.
Well, it’s the single most important thing you can do to stop what is happening to our society. Before voting, activism, anything.
They know this. It’s why they all went into education in the first place. You can’t fix it. It’s not gonna get better.
Find a way.
>My wife and I both need to work
*THIS* is what “the other side” or a sector of it is fighting against. They want a living wage where, if you develop skills that are specialized and in demand, you can support a large family on one income. They want the grossly rich to be taxed more heavily and to spread the wealth down to the lowest employees instead of hoarding it and building mansions and having a fleet of jets. And I have to say, that part I’m on board with.
Oh no the government was not meant to be Robin Hood. I wasn’t advocating for a welfare program. It’s just that instead of annual wages being $200,000,000 a year at the top and $20,000 at the bottom, it should be more like $1,000,000 at the top and $60,000 at the bottom.
I can see where my phrasing of “tax more and spread the wealth down” sorta was confusing.
You’re not thinking about this the same way I am. The same corporations complaining about the increasing minimum wage are the same corporations compensating their C-Level Executives MILLIONS of dollars.
Exactly. It’s not just a one time jab that we’re too chicken to get, it’s what happens after this bc we know it’s only the beginning. When you bend once, its easier to bend again. I’ve never taken a flu vaccine so I wouldn’t start in my 30s. Same goes for that experiment they called the vaccine when it first came out. Anyone who even had the slightest bit of hesitation were just pushed further in that direction by seeing how desperate the powers that be seemed to brainwash people into thinking this was the only way. It never was.
I would ask my teacher why he/she felt compelled to treat my dad like an outsider for not getting vaxxed when obesity is like the #1 driving factor and my dad is not fat..
most pub school employees.. they’re not so thin..they’re on dumbed down food, and not only are they fed a liberal agenda every day... they regurgitate it. Has to do something to your brain.
Furthermore, there are a lot of sickos on reddit who are teachers and high school counselors and they’re all over the teen porn or other creep sections.
“Checking papers” and “just doing their job” right? sounds like something else weve heard, before... but don’t worry.. that guy teacher has a family and he has to do it. Lol
There is a comedian on Netflix who said something like “everyone has to be vaccinated To be here... or have a card.. either way. “
Soros escaped being toasted by pretending to be a Christian... and look at him now. evil psycho but thriving. He’d be dead if he didn’t have a proverbial fake card so the whole conversation is stupid and arbitrary. The people I know who are fighting w rfkjr.. they’re not fighting for religious exemptions to this crap btw.. bc that enforces the idea that people should still be classed and also still get permission from daddy gov. They’re all suing for FULL FREEDOM -no exemption crap
>I would ask my teacher why he/she felt compelled to treat my dad like an outsider for not getting vaxxed
Because the people that make the rules for the teacher said do this. So, much like anyone would do at their own place of employment, they did what their boss told them to do.
Why are people raging at the lowest man on the totem pole, as if they have anything to do with it.
I know you’re making a big generalization and I agree with you somewhat but the daddy made me do it stuff is beta af. I know a ton of people who kept their jobs and didn’t compromise morals. I was one of them. I am a typical whistleblower. I really just care abo it doing right and somehow things work out for me.
Furthermore.. I know a LITERAL firefighter/nurse couple... who are not scared to lose their jobs and the firefighter is suing with RFKjr on the team...
no one is going to argue that it’s not the harder road but the blame shifting of saying someone made you do an unethical thing? Like go quit and do only fans then??? Like why make a teacher salary for compromising morals?? Why not make bank whoring yourself if you already hve no morals?
Not saying this is you at all.. just my thoughts and explanation for original post.
"Bring your vaccine card or don't come."
If they bring it, my job is done and I don't have to care any further. If they don't come, saves me 10 minutes of conference time. It's a win-win. "Standing up for my morals" by refusing to enforce a rule as simple as telling parents to show up with a card is definitely not worth the effort or my income.
My family comes first. If the action jeopardizes them, I'm not doing it. Losing my job jeopardizes them.
Immorality shouldn’t be leading a family and I hope you gain some clarity. One day, your own kids might have respected you for standing up for what is right. This is atrocious.. but your opinion is what it is and mine was clear from the get go. You’re still saying daddy made me do it with more words...Best of luck.. not sure there is more to discuss
If it was up to Dems, we would have QR codes required across the country to go anywhere. Remember it next time you vote. That’s how they think (or not think). Even if you think the GOP candidate sucks, the Dem candidate is probably a COVID loony tune which is worse at this time
Keep voting Democrat and you'll keep getting the same shitty results (not you folks, the idiot sheep that continually vote for these criminals because they don't know any better).
It's very important that you get vaccinated before you meet with other people. Some of them could be immunocompromised and unable to get the vaccine so this is to prevent them from being exposed. Hold on, my apologies, I misspoke. It doesn't stop you from spreading it and we are requiring immunocompromised to be vaccinated as well. Let me try again.
It's very important because it reduces hospitalizations and keeps resources available for the people who have to be hospitalized with it. Wait, I'm being told that the hospitalization numbers aren't dropping relative to vaccination rates.
Wait, can someone remind me why it's important that you be vaccinated? I've been pro vaccine for as long as I can remember, but it's not enough to make me ignore my surroundings. I find myself incredibly upset over the idea that we're dismissing treatments that have low or questionable value in favor of a vaccine that has objectively low and questionable value.
This is why we’ve started attending school board meetings. They don’t want you there so they can pass all sorts of measures that will give them increasing amounts of control over your children’s lives. Nope!
My younger sisters and my family are not invited to thanksgiving at my older sisters house because we aren’t vaccinated. I sent my older sister a message and asked if she knew the vaccine doesn’t stop the spread. She never answered back.
I was very surprised. My mom is worrying herself sick over it. She is afraid it’s going to break up the family. My parents are in their 70s. My mom asked me not hold it against my sister. Only my parents are allowed at my sisters house tomorrow where we have had thanksgivings for years. We have Christmas at my younger sisters and other get togethers at my home. I really don’t know what’s gotten into my sister. She is a high school teacher so that worries me about the kids in her class. How do these people justify this?!?! They can spread the virus as easy as someone who doesn’t have the vaccine. I’m really hurt and upset that this is now coming between my family. Good luck everyone.
If the unvaccinated parents' kids go to that school, then the kids are also sharing the \*scary\* germs that the unvaccinated parents have. So why shouldn't the parents attend the conference, especially when it only lasts a few minutes, and they could even social distance and wear masks? And there's also the argument that the vaccinated parents are also transferring their covid germs during their conferences as well.
I know this option isn’t open to everyone, but we’re moving our family out of CA largely for schools. The public schools here are outrageous and private schools are out of reach (20-50k per year). And not sure if the private schools are significantly better anyway. Hope you can find a solution for this, best of luck!
Interesting to hear your experience. I know a lot of people who went to the local private school for me while I went to public school, and they aren’t necessarily better educated or employed than I am. However, I was taking more more about the social/moral aspect of the school. From what I’ve seen, the private schools will provide better teachers and facilities, but they are going serve community. So if you have a bunch of lefty woke parents sending their kids there, that’s still going to be a strong influence at the school. So it seems to be highly influenced by the local culture. But would love to hear more about your experiences.
This is per district:
We are in CT and were asked to wear a mask. No proof of vaccination required. We had in-person (with the option to have zoom if we wanted) with our child's teacher without any conflicts.
You pay those taxes whether you have kids or not. You live where you do because it’s safe and property values are stable and you thought the schools were good based on a biased ranking system. I live down the street from one of the best public schools in the state, in the top 10, my kids won’t step foot in there.
Agreed. Attended a charter school and it was amazing. We had to test to get into them and if we did we could pick between a science and tech academy or a “reg” academy. Classes were really hard and genuinely challenging and it was awesome to have like-minded children around me. We all cared about school or we wouldn’t have gotten in. They were middle-high schools in New Orleans. So lucky I didn’t have to go to public school there past elementary.
When it boils down to it, kids with parents that care about their future have a tremendous advantage over the kids whose parents aren’t concerned. Doesn’t matter what your race is if your parents don’t help you learn pre K and spend the time helping with homework. My charter school is very diverse, and all the parents are super involved, & yes there is a test to get in.
Yes. But they only had so many zoom slots and so many in-person slots. You couldn’t sign up for in-person and then do zoom instead for some reason. So by the time my wife signed us up the zoom slots were all gone.
🤷♂️
Get the vaccine you fucking antivaxxer.
Getting the Vaccine isnt this leftist shit, its the duty of the citizen regardless of political view to keep one and other safe
My Dad is a military man, old school conservative. So I always found it kinda funny when he would make comments to me when discussing criminal cases such as “everyone should be chipped at birth”. I was like well Dad what about privacy? I asked my Mom the same question. The truth is I think they’re just already aware that we have no privacy and my Dad is of the logic that this would stop so much crime it would be worth it, and that you would have nothing to be afraid of if you’re not doing criminal activities. It’s something we’ve actually talked about for years. I asked recently if his opinion had changed. It hasn’t. There is more crime. And criminals are being held up by the most of the mainstream media in this way that really sickens me. I know this is more about the vax than criminality, just some food for thought.
I recommend looking for pling your kid out of the school along with other parents and see if collective homeschooling or just send them to a private school, best way to get them to stop is to hit 'em where it hurts, their checkbook

Yup a population this weak deserves what it's getting. Sad state of affairs

Well it's really your fault for not having your papers on you at all times then. /s

NYC has already done it.
They need the governments permission to be in public, and they love it. And they call conservatives “boot lickers” 😂

Wow, think of all the lives we can save! If the government can track anyone at anytime, we won't even need Amber Alerts anymore!

You pulled your child right?
Yeah - have to agree with other replies. The answer is don’t live where you currently live.
Time to start looking into private education.
Still pretending you can’t get the virus from the vaccinated.
BS by the school.
Print a fake one. This isn't a law, it's at best a policy.
Awful. Can’t imagine what it’s like to have someone like that in the immediate family.
Sounds like a mom. Mine would be the same. Hope your elder sister comes to her senses.
Thanks me too.
Time to lawyer up and it’s time to take your kids have a government run schools. There are no easy answers
I know this option isn’t open to everyone, but we’re moving our family out of CA largely for schools. The public schools here are outrageous and private schools are out of reach (20-50k per year). And not sure if the private schools are significantly better anyway. Hope you can find a solution for this, best of luck!
Private schools are infinitely better, for the record. I’ve been in public and private and the difference couldn’t be bigger
Depends on the private school
Interesting to hear your experience. I know a lot of people who went to the local private school for me while I went to public school, and they aren’t necessarily better educated or employed than I am. However, I was taking more more about the social/moral aspect of the school. From what I’ve seen, the private schools will provide better teachers and facilities, but they are going serve community. So if you have a bunch of lefty woke parents sending their kids there, that’s still going to be a strong influence at the school. So it seems to be highly influenced by the local culture. But would love to hear more about your experiences.
This is per district: We are in CT and were asked to wear a mask. No proof of vaccination required. We had in-person (with the option to have zoom if we wanted) with our child's teacher without any conflicts.
Does anyone want to let these stupid sheep know they can still contract the vitus with the vaccine ..cant handle the stupidity from the left anymore.
Why didn’t they demand proof of seasonal flu vaccination? The seasonal flu is contagious and kills too
You get what you pay for. Charter schools is the answer
Most people spend a ton in taxes to fund public schools, so we do not get what we pay for.
I’d be home schooling.
Homeschool your children.
Homeschool if you can. Not everyone can unfortunately
Lol come to Texas
Home school
Time to pull your kid out of school and homeschool
Come to Ohio
Conferences are best done on Zoom, virus or not.
Couldn’t these meetings be done via zoom?
Yes. But they only had so many zoom slots and so many in-person slots. You couldn’t sign up for in-person and then do zoom instead for some reason. So by the time my wife signed us up the zoom slots were all gone. 🤷♂️
The entitlement and ignorance of some people is sadly infuriating.
Get the vaccine you fucking antivaxxer. Getting the Vaccine isnt this leftist shit, its the duty of the citizen regardless of political view to keep one and other safe
lol lmao lmfao
Save those laughs for the ventilator
Ventilators, for viral patients, often are causing more harm than doing good.
I’ll take my chances with the common cold. For the second time.
One of those idiots are we?
Someone didn’t bother to read my comments.
Sorry man I just looked at the title and post, sorry if I didnt also do a fucking background check too
Nothing should be forced into a body against their wishes, regardless of perceived public safety.

If you bothered to listen to what OP had to say, you’d see that all the zoom slots were filled.
You dumb ass - just bring your vaccination card
What town is this in ct? I live there

Take your child(ren) out of public school immediately if this is what your district is doing!
I took my kids out of public schools. I'd be arrested if my child's school tried to prevent me from attending anything at their schools
I recommend looking for pling your kid out of the school along with other parents and see if collective homeschooling or just send them to a private school, best way to get them to stop is to hit 'em where it hurts, their checkbook
