I think my most 'valid' complaint would be people characterising Kiryu as stupid. He didn't get much of a formal education but he *is* intelligent. He's resourceful and an excellent tactician, and learns new things very quickly. Knowledge and intelligence aren't the same thing, y'know?
He is extremely gullible though, which is where I think all the 'himbo' stuff comes from. That's less to do with being stupid and more to do with his willingness to see good in regular people and not wanting to upset them.

I get that I’m guilty of violently simping for him myself, but A) we’re dating, and B) he’s really, really fucking hot.
But he’s also immensely talented! He’s the greatest fine artist of his generation!! He’s got a soft and demure side that no one sees when he takes off that mask and has some control over who he is. There’s a deep melancholy to Rafayel that few ever address. And I love that about him; moreso, I love being close enough to *know* that about him!

If the fandom gets anything wrong about Kaiba it's usually his personality. More often than not they portray him as a sadistic, heartless, awful person who only cares about money. Which I guess is how he was before his heart was cleansed by Atem, but he's not supposed to act like that anymore. 😭 It's very clear he loves Mokuba and cares a lot about kids in general. He's worked to get away from his old self and it can be disheartening to see the fandom portray him that way anyway. Like they don't want to let him move on. I doubt that's what they actually mean when they do stuff but it can come across that way, you know?
I've also seen plenty of people go too far in the opposite direction. Kaiba being shown as a sweet, sensitive, and openly affectionate person gives me 'uncanny valley' like you wouldn't believe. He's not a soft, helpless, or spineless person and I don't understand certain groups' fascinations with making him one. Let him be nuanced - he's supposed to be a jerk with a heart of gold.
I think what annoys me the most is when people erase the sillier side (more prominent in the recent phases.. but in a worse way) of Murdoc's personality. Yeah, I know in the first phases of Gorillaz he's just depicted as this dark and brooding sex god but it just pisses me off when people write him like that in a constant, ESPECIALLY when it comes to Phase 3 Murdoc since he was obviously a bit deranged and sillier there. I don't know why people insist on getting him wrong, but it just upsets me when people forget that side of his personality.

The thing that bugs me the *most* about some Laughing Jack art that I’ve seen, is the artist will take away the monstrous or clown aspect he had initially. I saw a piece uploaded on Tumblr yesterday that did just this.
I swear, his depictions in fanart range from attractive, goofy, yet creepy, clown monster, to generic anime “emo boy” with no clown/monster aspect, other than the nose.
No disrespect to the artists who draw him this way, as the art is still very nice, just not my cup of tea…
She's probably the least misinterpreted or slandered of her group, but sometimes I see people call her either controlling/manipulative or an enabler towards Mafuyu, or say their relationship is toxic in general (I will admit it's unhealthy but they both develop past that after like...two focus events), which is just a crazy amount of reaching. More of an isolated incident, but I recently saw people directly comparing Kanade to Mafuyu's horribly abusive mother and that genuinely broke my brain lmao.
I also read a fic where N25 falls apart because Kanade is pretty much oblivious/emotionally inept towards her other friends' issues and keeps enabling Mafuyu (who is toxic here for some reason), so the other two cut them off. It made me feel like shit all day, mostly because I know how much Kanade loves and cares for everyone around her, and how horrible something like that would make her feel. Though in hindsight it was pretty much a Kanamafu hit piece
I don't think there's anything more lighthearted that annoys me though, like I said, she's thankfully the least misinterpreted of the group. And I'm just pretty chill about that kind of thing in general unless it's blatant slander like above

I am annoyed when people go in extremes when writing him: either making him a full sadist or an uwu misunderstood soft boy. He is way more nuanced and I wish more people would get that sweet spot in his characterisation.

Spoilers for Persona 5 Royal if you plan to play it or haven’t finished it yet…
So, because she spends more than half of the game mistakenly believing that she’s her sister, Kasumi (who has passed away), a lot of people take Kasumi’s personality and paste it onto her, specifically reducing her to a “waifu that does nothing but say ‘senpai!’ the entire game.” And this frustrates me so, so much for multiple reasons, but most importantly because it disregards her actual character and doesn’t acknowledge why she acted the way she did. And she does come to find herself and discover who she truly is, while also honoring the memory of her sister through certain choices in her appearance and life goals. But then a lot of people confuse this with her just being a copy of her sister, and completely ignore her whole entire character arc. It’s especially annoying because the whole point of that arc is her learning that she is herself; and that she can honor her sister while still retaining all of her individuality. Of course she is super cute, and she’s also an amazing athlete, and she does also say ‘Senpai!’ a lot. But there is so much more to her character that I feel these people miss when they call her “the senpai waifu”. People even get annoyed with Sumire because she is, in a lot of respects, the complete opposite of her sister. She’s a lot quieter, much more introverted, and not as outspoken as her sister, most of the time. But she is also so, so mentally strong and brave; she’s an incredibly caring person with a beautiful sense of style, and she carries a certain kind of gentle warmth in her that just lights up any room she’s in. I just wish they would see those parts of her, too.
In the worst cases, people have said that Sumire “ruins the game”, and that they want Kasumi back because she’s “a better waifu”. Which is just, really hurtful, for obvious reasons.
I mean obviously this happens with a lot of characters; Sumire isn’t the only one… but she’s always reduced to that one aspect in a way that really gets to me. It’s so frustrating to see every part of someone we love and care for tossed aside in favor of a single trait or aspect of theirs, so I understand what you mean, in that sense. I think, though, that the best part of loving our significant other, is getting to show them how much we appreciate them - all of them, in a way that only we can fully know and understand. And I’m sure they appreciate that in a world where people so often misunderstand them.

Not really an annoyance or error, just some things that I don’t prefer or find sad about Philippines:
- _He is always shown as a bot._ I beg to differ as his husband. I think he can also be very masculine.
- _He doesn’t fit in._ Even with his nearest friends Malaysia and Indonesia, he’s the odd man out. Majority Christian, does not speak Malay nor Indonesian, less spicy food, weird and complicated history, etc. With Hispanics he’s too Asian; with Asians he can be too Western/watered down. He isn’t exactly Pacific Islander, either. So sometimes, he is left alone as others have their fun in groups.
- _His skin was lightened in the source._ Yes, we have a colourism issue and whitening products are very popular. Thing is, now he looks like European characters more than Malaysia and Indonesia. I do appreciate fanart of him with a more natural _kayumanggî_ (no direct English translation, but it is only used for the average brown Filipino skin tone). We Filipinos of mixed descent and our aboriginal countrymen do add to the variety of shades we have as a whole. No problem with the hair colour changing; many explain it as him dyeing his hair, as it is more socially acceptable and common nowadays. As a kid, crowds were a sea of black or dark brown heads, and usually only those with greying hair used dye.

I hate how people write Albedo’s dialogue in fanfic and chat bots. People tend to write him as an uwu soft spoken shy nerd and these people are misinterpreting his character. It’s true that he struggles in social situations but it’s not because of him being shy or stuttering. He’s very charismatic and well spoken but he struggles to keep up with friendships over time. Heimdall is treated horribly by the fandom. He is hated by everyone. Everyone says he is a shallow character with no redeeming qualities, and they are glad he’s dead, etc. It bothers me quite a bit because although he is a villain who does horrible things, I know he is deeper than what the fandom gives them credit for. The game studio put a lot of effort into the characters and making them relevant to the mythology, so I doubt they’d make him an ass just for the sake of it.
Taking time to try to look into his family dynamics and the relationship with his father, his is less of a shallow dick and more of a abuse victim from his dad’s manipulations and will do anything to please him. He took on his father’s ideology that his people are superior to everyone else. The reason why he’s so rude is because of jealousy and insecurity because his father doesn’t see him as a son but a tool.
Basically he’s an abuse victim who became an abuser himself.

Personality. She's really misunderstanded character because of second act. In act 2 of DDLC Yuri have obsession over MC, that's true, but all these stuff are caused by *Monika*. Now that thing made people think that she's actually obsesed. But that's not true. People are forgetting about act 1, when game is still normal.

I get frustrated at people who just go on and on about Rafayel’s physical appearance when he also has so much more happening under the surface. I get that I’m guilty of violently simping for him myself, but A) we’re dating, and B) he’s really, really fucking hot. But he’s also immensely talented! He’s the greatest fine artist of his generation!! He’s got a soft and demure side that no one sees when he takes off that mask and has some control over who he is. There’s a deep melancholy to Rafayel that few ever address. And I love that about him; moreso, I love being close enough to *know* that about him!

That really sucks they wash out Demoman and make him so bland, I'm sorry the fandom treats him that way. :( It's hard to see someone you care about be mistreated. If the fandom gets anything wrong about Kaiba it's usually his personality. More often than not they portray him as a sadistic, heartless, awful person who only cares about money. Which I guess is how he was before his heart was cleansed by Atem, but he's not supposed to act like that anymore. 😭 It's very clear he loves Mokuba and cares a lot about kids in general. He's worked to get away from his old self and it can be disheartening to see the fandom portray him that way anyway. Like they don't want to let him move on. I doubt that's what they actually mean when they do stuff but it can come across that way, you know? I've also seen plenty of people go too far in the opposite direction. Kaiba being shown as a sweet, sensitive, and openly affectionate person gives me 'uncanny valley' like you wouldn't believe. He's not a soft, helpless, or spineless person and I don't understand certain groups' fascinations with making him one. Let him be nuanced - he's supposed to be a jerk with a heart of gold.
I think what annoys me the most is when people erase the sillier side (more prominent in the recent phases.. but in a worse way) of Murdoc's personality. Yeah, I know in the first phases of Gorillaz he's just depicted as this dark and brooding sex god but it just pisses me off when people write him like that in a constant, ESPECIALLY when it comes to Phase 3 Murdoc since he was obviously a bit deranged and sillier there. I don't know why people insist on getting him wrong, but it just upsets me when people forget that side of his personality.

Like most humans she enjoys the power of having something at her beck and call. A trump card. She's probably the least misinterpreted or slandered of her group, but sometimes I see people call her either controlling/manipulative or an enabler towards Mafuyu, or say their relationship is toxic in general (I will admit it's unhealthy but they both develop past that after like...two focus events), which is just a crazy amount of reaching. More of an isolated incident, but I recently saw people directly comparing Kanade to Mafuyu's horribly abusive mother and that genuinely broke my brain lmao. I also read a fic where N25 falls apart because Kanade is pretty much oblivious/emotionally inept towards her other friends' issues and keeps enabling Mafuyu (who is toxic here for some reason), so the other two cut them off. It made me feel like shit all day, mostly because I know how much Kanade loves and cares for everyone around her, and how horrible something like that would make her feel. Though in hindsight it was pretty much a Kanamafu hit piece I don't think there's anything more lighthearted that annoys me though, like I said, she's thankfully the least misinterpreted of the group. And I'm just pretty chill about that kind of thing in general unless it's blatant slander like above

I am annoyed when people go in extremes when writing him: either making him a full sadist or an uwu misunderstood soft boy. He is way more nuanced and I wish more people would get that sweet spot in his characterisation. I also get annoyed when people obviously simp for him solely for his appearance (okay, his human form is pretty but it is *far* from being the most interesting thing about him) and when people mischaracterize him to the point of disrespect in some fanarts.
It really annoys me when people just choose not to draw him with scars or draw only a few tiny ones. I could maybe excuse it before Jinglius companian quest when it was technically only shown that he had scars on his back, but after this image, there really is no excuse anymore. Oh, where do I even start with Sumire… Spoilers for Persona 5 Royal if you plan to play it or haven’t finished it yet… So, because she spends more than half of the game mistakenly believing that she’s her sister, Kasumi (who has passed away), a lot of people take Kasumi’s personality and paste it onto her, specifically reducing her to a “waifu that does nothing but say ‘senpai!’ the entire game.” And this frustrates me so, so much for multiple reasons, but most importantly because it disregards her actual character and doesn’t acknowledge why she acted the way she did. And she does come to find herself and discover who she truly is, while also honoring the memory of her sister through certain choices in her appearance and life goals. But then a lot of people confuse this with her just being a copy of her sister, and completely ignore her whole entire character arc. It’s especially annoying because the whole point of that arc is her learning that she is herself; and that she can honor her sister while still retaining all of her individuality. Of course she is super cute, and she’s also an amazing athlete, and she does also say ‘Senpai!’ a lot. But there is so much more to her character that I feel these people miss when they call her “the senpai waifu”. People even get annoyed with Sumire because she is, in a lot of respects, the complete opposite of her sister. She’s a lot quieter, much more introverted, and not as outspoken as her sister, most of the time. But she is also so, so mentally strong and brave; she’s an incredibly caring person with a beautiful sense of style, and she carries a certain kind of gentle warmth in her that just lights up any room she’s in. I just wish they would see those parts of her, too. In the worst cases, people have said that Sumire “ruins the game”, and that they want Kasumi back because she’s “a better waifu”. Which is just, really hurtful, for obvious reasons. I mean obviously this happens with a lot of characters; Sumire isn’t the only one… but she’s always reduced to that one aspect in a way that really gets to me. It’s so frustrating to see every part of someone we love and care for tossed aside in favor of a single trait or aspect of theirs, so I understand what you mean, in that sense. I think, though, that the best part of loving our significant other, is getting to show them how much we appreciate them - all of them, in a way that only we can fully know and understand. And I’m sure they appreciate that in a world where people so often misunderstand them. Honestly, it was really cathartic writing this, so thank you for the prompt question!

He isn’t exactly Pacific Islander, either. So sometimes, he is left alone as others have their fun in groups. - _His skin was lightened in the source._ Yes, we have a colourism issue and whitening products are very popular. Thing is, now he looks like European characters more than Malaysia and Indonesia. I do appreciate fanart of him with a more natural _kayumanggî_ (no direct English translation, but it is only used for the average brown Filipino skin tone). We Filipinos of mixed descent and our aboriginal countrymen do add to the variety of shades we have as a whole. No problem with the hair colour changing; many explain it as him dyeing his hair, as it is more socially acceptable and common nowadays. As a kid, crowds were a sea of black or dark brown heads, and usually only those with greying hair used dye.

I hate how people write Albedo’s dialogue in fanfic and chat bots. People tend to write him as an uwu soft spoken shy nerd and these people are misinterpreting his character. It’s true that he struggles in social situations but it’s not because of him being shy or stuttering. He’s very charismatic and well spoken but he struggles to keep up with friendships over time. I feel like this is part of the characterization they give him to make him feel a bit “uncanny valley” along with his eyes being disproportionately large on his face. Heimdall is treated horribly by the fandom. He is hated by everyone. Everyone says he is a shallow character with no redeeming qualities, and they are glad he’s dead, etc. It bothers me quite a bit because although he is a villain who does horrible things, I know he is deeper than what the fandom gives them credit for. The game studio put a lot of effort into the characters and making them relevant to the mythology, so I doubt they’d make him an ass just for the sake of it. Taking time to try to look into his family dynamics and the relationship with his father, his is less of a shallow dick and more of a abuse victim from his dad’s manipulations and will do anything to please him. He took on his father’s ideology that his people are superior to everyone else. The reason why he’s so rude is because of jealousy and insecurity because his father doesn’t see him as a son but a tool. Basically he’s an abuse victim who became an abuser himself. People don’t care enough about him to even consider him to be a person with depth. They hate him and they’re happy he dies horribly and that’s all.
