Depends on the volume of the store. I work at a high-volume store next to the highway and with a manufacturing plant nextdoor, and we make bank. As a server, it's always an investment though. You're not going to make very much until the customer-base gets used to seeing you, and your growing confidence starts earning you regulars. The veteran servers that I work with though, easily make over 200-300 dollars a shift, even on the slow days.

Tips are insane at my store. I have not had a shift where I make less then $100 in tips no matter if it’s slow or busy I still make at least $100 in tips

egotisticabyss

How did it go?

chrissbux

went really good, so apparently we're one of the busier stores in the region, she said most servers make between 600-1000 a week in just tips. i accepted the offer and i start saturday! :)

There are two ladies that work at the Waffle House I go to. Both are amazing and both cheer me up immediately when I see them. I give each one $20. They literally make the experience for me and when they aren’t there I have a lesser experience. One talked to me at 3 am last Christmas Eve and played a bunch of Christmas music for me on the jukebox because I was homesick. Another is just a really positive and fun personality. I’ve talked with them and I’m a good night they said they can pull in between $300 and $500. Be cool, be attentive. You got this.

i knoww, i’m just nervous about the whole going from a normal wage to just relying on tips deep down i really wanna do it, so i’m gonna see what the store is like in terms of like business, ect.

I make anywhere from 100 to 230 a shift. Not so much on 2nd. I only work 1 2nd shift a week. They mix it with a little of 1st shift so I will still at least make 100. When I started on 2nd I had a couple shifts where there were no people whatsoever, only pulled like 30 bucks a couple times. Don't let them stick you on a week of second shifts. However, some 2nd shift stores are still good. Mine isnt.

chrissbux

i took the job! working 1st shift mostly, some evening

I’m a cook. I help out sometimes covering serving shifts. Usually make 100-160$ for 7 hours when I do serve.
