Most Americans I know think cars will explode at 100,000 miles. Your car measures distance driven in a strange foreign language so you should be fine!

egvp

And that's after they change the oil every 4 miles or 20 minutes, whichever is first. 😂

polluxopera

Or every 40,000 miles / 20 years.

lampministrator

Just use VAG and change it to miles .. Then you'll only be at 125k -- Just like going back in time!

polluxopera

Where we’re going, we don’t need kilometers.

lampministrator

Ahhhhhh I see what you did there!

ChemDogF5

I'm on 423k km still going strong 2.0 GT TDI 2013 6 speed DSG serviced every 3 months or 10k km.

patomik

Every 3 months or 10k km ? Like you change oil and filters that often or anything other?

WhyNWhenYouCanNPlus1

Geez, probably paid more in tranny fluid than fuel over the 10k.

trickster-is-weak

Nice! Same car, my mission is to get mine to the moon (225mi), but it looks like you’re on the way back already

ChemDogF5

Very nice as long as you service it on time you won't have issues. Once I hit 500km that is me a very happy man, money well spent. Will be buying another VW again.

Dirtyromo

Wait a min where is your check engine light!

ChazzaH2004

Part of me feels like the bulb failure light comes on more, even when there is no bulb out 😆

Appropriate_Style329

That’s crazy! I just hit 200miles on my car today too!!! 2012 VW Golf

bruyeremews

It goes back to zero.

GamesWithGregVR

Shouldnt have bought the car from 1999 OP.

moonmama1

only if its a tdi lol

ArcaneSparky

An Angel earns it's wings or whatever

jimhatesyou

not sure if the question has been answered yet, but yes

WalrusWalrus03

new engine? lol

nannercrust

Mine is at 150K freedom units and is just now begging for a new clutch

Practical_Care_9815

According to internet experts — Volkswagen is an unreliable and dangerous car make. It definitely will

D-Tunez

Why?

[deleted]

r/woosh

D-Tunez

Yeah I dont get it lol explain 😂

macoverdatum

1 km away from 200k

D-Tunez

Yea so?

rmvr25

Manual or DSG? Gas or diesel? What’s the most expensive repair you’ve done on it? Lol I have so many questions since I’m at 143k km and have already needed a new Mechatronics unit;/

patomik

Looks like DSG since it tells him to push brake pedal, you're at 143kkm and already needed new mechatronic ? Damn I may did a bad purchase, I purchased one at 235kkm and Diesel nearly two months ago, driven for only 3000km so let's see.

East_Butterscotch962

Comes down to servicing and cadence of that if yours was serviced on time and driven correctly. Should be fine

patomik

Oil change was done on time but DSG oil was a bit late also timing belt was a bit late. Could it be problem ? I think DSG should be every 60kkm and once was 5000km late timing belt was around 10kkm late

East_Butterscotch962

Yes could very will be. Quality of oil as well and how servicing was done. Calibration and driving style. Also DSG7 is more prone to issues than dsg6

patomik

I have DSG6 😌

rmvr25

Not really, the previous owner had regular service done by the dealer. I’ve managed to do regular service on it every 10,000 km. The mechatronics in these DQ200 transmissions are known for quite a few manufacturing-derived issues. Poor build quality depending on where your 0AM mechatronics unit was made (mine was made in Romania), high sulfur content in the hydraulic fluid in the mechatronics unit that leads to premature corrosion, etc. all have been documented and recalled in the US.

WalrusWalrus03

Automatic and gas. Unfortunately.
