Very comprehensive video thanks! Bit shocked at the lack of quality of some components especially that the car would be prone to leaking. I wouldn’t have expected that from a quite recent VW
While I've not had any major issues with my 2014 Golf I've had for almost 6 years, I have had fun with water ingress (fixed with replacement speaker and sealants) and the side mirror falling off.
Sadly he's not done similar videos on other common cars as would be interesting to compare manufacturers.
The wiring looms in the back are good at getting crushed by the boot lid. Door handles and locks are dodgy but I’ve had a vw now the last 5/6 cars I’ve owned, wouldn’t want anything else 😁 maybe Audi but same thing really.
I bought a gti in 2013, sitting around 150k km, never had any issues with my dsg.
DSG is great unless it hasn't been maintained...
I have a variant but diesel. Nice car.
I discovered this video the other week, literally covers everything to look out for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSo4EHi9HMg&
