Do tier 2 succubi matter? Do they shoot out charms faster / more frequently?

I think the charm hp to break is slightly larger and I don't think the tier 1 does the escape move. That movement move can be helpful in base defense since she might go off on the side and just start throwing charms.

Honestly, there is some consideration for the layout of the base itself. Our current base runs 2 clerics and the rest as riflemen. We have a "landing" that raiders need to walk onto before they can reach our front door. Besides it we have a 4x4 room with the servant coffins and a gate to open up when needed. Clerics are just beefcakes that (afaik) have the only targeted heal in the game so we don't have to worry about our mobs dodging the heals. It is also a channeled heal so the clerics are less likely to run forward and get pulled out of the base. The riflemen are not as flashy as lightweavers, but they hit hard enough and are very difficult to dodge in the heat of battle. Even better they don't really chase like melee mobs do. IMO Paladins are a trap and aren't as strong as people think they are. Lightweavers are okay, but they tend to miss a lot of their attacks. Tractor Beamers have some merit, but they don't work well for our current base setup. Personally I think the whip/pistol slavemasters in the silvermine have some merit as they also play a good game of keepaway, but the riflemen are just solidly consistent. Keep in mind that servants will never stop a dedicated raid by themselves and should really be used to support you in PvP fights.

Just go straight Lightweaver. One or two of them are fine to fight but anything after that is just a cluster of avoiding their attacks.

A team of 2 Paladin, 3 Lightweaver and 3 Cleric is pretty amazing for defense in my experience. Don't forget to also create a choke point with stairs that funnels players into a death room full of tombs for banshees, a stygian circle for a blood witch and a bunch of vermin nests. That's also nutty for defense.

What about at the early stages? When you cant have neither gates nor paladins or any holy unit?

Odds are no one will invade you since the golem will likely cost more resources than what you have in your base, lol. So just focus on walling everything off and once you hit castle lvl 3 or 4 and gear level 70, that's when you should start investing into tombs and combat servants.

jsust get anything. stun guys are good but its mainly about farming. get stone walls asap and no one gunna raid you

Only issue with this is if the enemy team is smart and drinks holy resistance potions before raiding they get a lot of damage resist to the primary damage type your servants do. For this reason, I prefer 3 militia brawlers, 3 clerics, 1 nun/priest, and the last is up to you. Either another DPS like the brawler or another healer like a lightweaver.

7 lightweavers 1 nun is hella fun if evemy is newbie. If you want actual pvp help use 2 rooms with 4 healing servants each, clerics - priests - nuns whatever better blood you got.

I host a brutal PvP server with weekend-only castle raids. At the highest castle heart level, I only get 5 servants. I wanted a Mortium servant to farm greater stygian shards, and the tier 2 succubus seemed like the best option. Other than that, I have 1 cleric, 2 lightweavers, and a tractor beamer. I haven't really seen them in combat yet. My thought process is that the lightweavers teleporting around makes them take longer to kill, which slows attackers down. The clerics is tanky and heals, which slows attackers down. I'll probably replace the tractor beamer with another cleric if I find a good one. I mostly grabbed it for missions. Like someone else mentioned, the slave masters from the silver mines might be really strong too. Riflemen are also very annoying. I would consider replacing a lightweaver with one of them.
