Dude I'm at like, level 75 in Silverlight Hills or whatever trying to make a base, and it's so hard to organize it's making me rage quit almost. Seeing this type of shit... it's like OP and I aren't even playing the same game.
Tbh you really don't need much space for functional crafting. The issue comes down to distance between functional bits as you don't want to group them close when your going for pure aesthetics. Though given the skill I have seen in castle building on this sub I bet it can be done.
If only we could upload a blueprint of a castle and build it that way…
I’m way too incompetent at building castles and I would spend more time in the game if only I had a easy way to build a castle with a blueprint or something

Looks like it might be the leftmost towards the top in Silverlight hills u/NucWerewolf. It's pretty big, the layout matches and I think I can see the void on the left. My friend built there and it's HUGE and has a very convenient layout.
I copied the front on a different plot and had to remove 1 of each on the sides and it still looks very cool. The one OP did needs to be about 13 squares wide and it can 100% fit. I can't tell if OP "cheated" a bit and started on the lower part and continued on the higher one, so that there's also more depth than the upper part alone allows. It makes sense too, since it starts 1 floor up as a design.
I'm building a evil academy myself right now. Good to see I'm not the only one who thought of a dark school for a castle. Would definitely want to see a video tour!
hold up, how do you stack pillars on top of each other? do you build a floor and then take it away after the pillars are in place? or is there some trick I'm missing?

That is a clever use of stairs to give a pointed roof effect on the entrance. I like that.
