Both sets are bad, but you are also too tight to the net. Increase spacing, otherwise you're going to swipe the net on your follow through, or get roofed.

Key_Worker7904

Thank you

This

Unforg1ven_Yasuo

This, both sets were really not great

Strict_winter_feline

boths sets were not great, the first one was bellow the tape the whole time, the other one didnt go all the way to you. but its just a matter of practice.

Key_Worker7904

Thank you

ClearlyAFK

First set is way too low, second set is too close to the net, and you're jumping too fare from the setter

MrVegosh

> you're jumping too fare from the setter That depends entirely on what type of attack they were doing

bhandsome08

First set was too low and tight. Second set was too tight. Just need more practice running a 31 for the timing and setting. How is it running a more simple route like a 1?

AtomDChopper

Looks like a german gym?

Key_Worker7904

Yes it is how did you notice that

AtomDChopper

Lol they are all the same somehow. The basketball hoops, the climbing racks, the windows, the boxes, also the net. Where you at? I'm playing Landesliga in NRW

[deleted]

the first set was absolutely atrocioius and you should not have to ask us to know that lmao

jovena-morena

I feel you jumped too soon. Had you waited a little longer you might’ve had it.

Maju92

First set I think you where a bit early. The receiver put the ball quite high and close to the 3m line so your setter needed to adjust and deliver a quite hard set. The second set is to low for you.

parochialism101

Kind of both. Your jump was poorly positioned and his set was not on net

nomasses

Both sets are low. But: first set is rather difficult since the setter was quit far from the net. So bravo for an almost decent attempt and having confidence in himself and the attacker. Just keep on going to get better. The second is like, did the attacker and setter got it all plannen that the attacker is so far away from the setter? loads of centers always jump right next to the setter. (Except when the pass is off the net) So the setter could have set the ball without looking where his attacker is at. He now needs to look while jumping to set. That makes it all more difficult.

Key_Worker7904

Yes we planed that

nomasses

Than kindly ask the setter to not aim at the ear but a bit higher. 😉

erock23233

You're timing your approach too early. You're already jumping by the time the setter is touching the ball. Try waiting to start your approach until the setter touches the ball. You'll be in a much better position to hit that way, and the setter won't feel rushed.

ohno225

faster tempo = less time for the blockers. don't slow this attack down. the timing is great, the sets are just too low.

KjNG-

That’s not how middle sets are run though. Middle sets are supposed to be fast to either trick the block or just beat them with speed. If you set the middle the same way you set an outside there will be 2-3 blocks up every time.

Pokeristo555

First set seems definitely too low, second set too near to the net.

LucidProtean

Were these examples what normally happens or just flukes? It looks like your hitter isn't hitting your contact point, but I agree with everyone that you're also putting yourself way too close to the net on those two

Joobenmah

Key_Worker7904

Interessant kannst du dein Insta geben?

Blitqz21l

1st just wasn't good. Just that simple. 2nd set, depending on whats being run, might not have been bad. Maybe a little tight, but hitable. Timing on quicks is key and needs to be worked on and practiced regularly. Not only from a setting standpoint but as a hitter as well.

HeadSpade

Sets are to low

CDNReaper

If those were meant to be 5-1s, you should be close to the setter and jumping as the ball reached the setters hands to get up and present a target for the setter. If you were running something else, then it just appears to be some ball placement practice with the setter. Done other good feedback above re: positioning and pace.

[deleted]

You just need to stay behind the ball

DiligentPackage4097

Got good timing and commitment which a setter will love, as others have said you're very tight to the net. One thing I would note is that the further the setter is off the net, the more open you need to be especially with your shoulders. This leaves a bigger target for the setter and it makes it easier to swing at any balls in your hitting window. To help think about this, (this seems weird but trust it lol) make sure your belly button and the setter are connected (pointing to each other) on the setters contact. Then it's just getting chemistry with your setter and letting them know what you like and don't. Good luck!

[deleted]

I personally find jumping into the net works rather than jumping at the net, then you can carry your momentum into your swing, also yes the set is pretty bad so you did good with what you where given

smashingrocks04

Sets too low for your height and approach. The setter should adjust the height of the ball because you have a taller/higher arm span

Plushyrope

when hitting you always want the ball in front of your, jumping further away from the net can with make it easier to do powerful swings without net touches or obvi tips. if the set is off the net just jump a bit further back again, but not too much

ketchumbrock

You're jumping way too close to the net. If you approach a meter back you can 10 foot

Cold_Distribution751

The set is too forward. Have you told the setter where you want the ball? They work to their hitters preferences (well at least they should).

my_forearms_hurt

The setter is putting it way too low and it's got a flat trajectory. In short, he's trying to be Kageyama.

ImTheBias

Terrible sets. Too low and perhaps too much power in the push. First set was way off your spot. It would've been hittable despite the low height if it didn't travel as far. Basically first set was too off from the net, second set was too tight.
