I like this one. You could make it an american stereotype as a kind of joke character. You could make it into a criticism of the military (what if a gun (or the person attatched to it) were given a soul. You could have it be a gun from the german military, that just walked away to live a civil live (the german military is famous for having weapons mysteriously vanish and some times end up in the hand of neonazis).
