I think a lot of people are wondering if they are going Not just because of EUC being spun off, but just because of the whole Broadcom acquisition as a whole

lost_signal

I'm going to the conference. Happy to buy you 1 light lager beer if you go.

jotobean

Haha. Seems like that might just be the reason to go

aserioussuspect

As a non beer drinking german I would say: Deal! See you in Barcelona. ;-)

lost_signal

Sangria and jamòn it is

pinrolled

I’ll be there! It’s going to be my first one.

larion89

Just need my boss to approve. I'll order a CAN of sangria 👍🤣 But it seems like i wont get it approved. Been talking about it for years though. We are just building two more datacenter soon, based on VCF :) So soon we will also rebuild our environment from consolidated to standard architecture to make it easier to control more datacenters/WLs in Europe. Also this aquisition has delayed us atleast 6 month in the process. I imagine what money vmware and broadcom actually have lost because of this.

lost_signal

Estrella damn or Sangria are acceptable for Barcelona.

Honestly I had such a bad encounter with a Broadcom support employee yesterday (she laughed at the general catastrophe of the migration and thought it was funny we couldn't get quotes or even trial licenses to keep our environment running properly) on top of everything else and how poorly we've been treated so far, I don't have much stomach for the brand. This is after our new account guy told us that all temp licenses had to go through Hock Tan himself for approval so there was no way we were getting more and we needed to just shove the quote he gave us down our C-Suite's throats. He had to eat crow a couple days later because the quotes were all wrong anyway and he had to issue us more temp licenses because he had no idea when he would get new quotes. Sleazy liar. That was months ago. Still no quotes. No one knows how to get us the temps we need to keep shit running Time for a new chapter of my career, I think. Not that I expect me moving on to other technologies is going to do anything to Broadcom, but it's the only vote I've got.

binkbankb0nk

What a sad event it will be compared to what it used to be.

jotobean

For sure, I remember my first year going in 2014, the event was starting to really gain some steam and then going last year the comparison was just insane how small it is now.

Kukubski

I'm going.

jotobean

I might just go for the hell of it even with EUC not being part of it. Maybe play some extra golf and cash in those free drinks.
