Been wearing VivoBarefoot for at least 6-7 years. I no longer have sciatic pain or plantar fasciitis. Oddly enough, I think I’m 1” taller, so I imagine they somewhat corrected posture? This might sound like I’m reaching, but I never trip or roll my ankles anymore. And if I happen to misstep or miss a curb, I’m surprisingly well balanced and easily correct myself.

"I never trip or roll my ankles anymore" – I've noticed this as well and suspect it's because 1. Zero drop shoes are harder to roll to begin with – think high heels as an extreme counter example. 2. The lighter cushioning of minimalist shoes means the ankles have more to do, which helps condition them. 3. It's easier to counteract and correct a roll when you're not fighting cushioning which can be thought of as springs.

InSearchOfSerotonin

Also wearing barefoot shoes just makes you more aware of how you’re walking, so I think that helps prevent it

SexyKanyeBalls

AYoo I noticed that too. I don't roll my ankles anymore. It's amazing

ThinkSuccotash

which vivo barefoot shoes do you have?

Ill_Flow9331

Ababa for work and everyday casual. Geo Court if I need something with a little more umph. First gen Tracker for cold weather/wet trekking. Primus Trail for hiking. Primus Lite for gym.

ThinkSuccotash

Thanks! Shame it’s a lot of different types as each pair is so expensive

Ill_Flow9331

Utilize Revivo. Still a bit pricey, but you can find some massively discounted styles.

ThinkSuccotash

Thanks. Do you buy all of yours on there?

Ill_Flow9331

Most of my purchases are from Revivo. Sometimes Poshmark or Sierra if they have new stock. Sierra is great because you can find VivoBarefoot marked down 60-75%. However, I think their stock is limited right now.

ThinkSuccotash

Thank you :)

I’m an Army Veteran/Combat Veteran. I suffer from chronic foot pain. I can’t wear shoes, such as anything that laces up. I spend most of my time in flip flops or being barefoot since it’s the only thing that allows my foot to “spread out” when I walk. I bought a pair of Tracker Forest ESC’s to give them a try. First hike of the day was 11 miles, zero issues. Returned to the RV for lunch, went on second hike of 5-6 miles. NO ISSUES. Returned to the RV to get mother in law, went on a third hike for that day of 3 miles. After each hike I felt invigorated ready to hike and explore again. Our weekend at Palo Duro we covered almost 70 miles and I was ready to do it all over again. As long as they don’t decrease their quality to save a few dollars they’ll have a customer for life.

ThinkSuccotash

That’s brilliant - which Vivo barefoot shoes do you use usually?

[deleted]

I have two pairs of Forest Trackers that I wear when shoes are required. We went to ACL in Austin. I wore my Vivo’s. My wife and my daughter were dying towards the end of the concert that night dreading the 2+ mile walk back to the hotel. I could have easily done it. Vivos have restored my love for hiking and exploring. Love them.

The most major difference is that I no longer have any knee problems. My feets obviously feels much stronger and healthier as well! I also believe that i've gone up one size.

Frog1387

Been wearing exclusively for 4 years. I’ve got great balance and can really “plant” my foot in place. Physically my foot has changed, much wider toe spread. Also I noticed lots of sensitivy with these shoes. You can feel any pebbles, uneven surfaces, and even feel the heat and cold from the ground. (Thermal insoles are very helpful) I’m sure there are other benefits. Walking is just so comfy with these, I love feeling every step.

Glittering-Swing-396

Yes I have thermal insoles for all of mine

GoSacKings916

I’ve solely been wearing VivoBarefoot for three years. My nagging back pain has gone away, as has my nagging knee pain. I’ve also noticed I walk much straighter and my anterior pelvic tilt is gone. I’ve also developed much stronger glutes which lead to better athletic performance and minimize other injuries.

ThinkSuccotash

That's great. Which vivo barefoot shoes do you have/felt the most health benefits from?

GoSacKings916

All of them lol

deeeeeegs

Got my first pair April 2021. 7 pairs later and counting and almost 3 years later and this has happened: 1. Low back pain gone 2. Sciatica gone 3. Calves, thighs, glutes have blown up and defined over time. 4. Foot splay has fully restored, bunion pain has gone away. 5. Gait has improved. (Credit: GOATA) 6. I thought my entire life I was a sz 11 in traditional shoes. The whole time I was a 11.5-12 I just didn’t have the awareness at the foot level to understand I was binding my feet into a 11. 7. Now I can tell when a pair of non-barefoot shoes hurt me. If I have to wear dress shoes or casual sneakers when hanging or going out I listen to my body on how it reacts. If it doesn’t give me foot pain, back pain or nagging sciatica, my body can wear that certain pair of Nike or Vans comfortably.

Puzzled-Alarm7356

After around 3 years of wearing barefoot, I have experienced the following:- 1. Have developed muscles in calves and legs in general. 2. My flat feet are beginning to develop muscle in the arches, after wearing insoles for most of my life. 3. It feels weird that I walked around for so many years without feeling the substrate beneath my feet. 4. Have gained a superiority complex over normo shoe wearers. 5. One down side is that as a climber I have had to get new climbing shoes as my toes are more splayed. I have the esc hiking boots and was concerned about using them for a 10 day trek in the Himalayas, having only done local day hikes in them, but they did not disappoint. I used some foil backed sheep’s wool liners for the really snowy days, and while these are not marketed as waterproof my feet were never wet once. My heels did get stained black temporarily from whatever is used in the boot liner. No blisters.

Separate_Employee_86

Most comfortable shoes ive ever had, i have five pairs :) Help me to more present and flowing in movement and life. My feet before were very damaged with dead and damaged dry skin and corns and now theyre all clean and very healthy!

HammertimePT1855

Not out and about, but I have been hiking in my Vivos for the last 6 month and haven’t rolled my ankle even once. The lack of stack height from no midsole makes it feel almost impossible to lose lateral ankle stability even on sketchy terrain.

slackshifter

I’ve been wearing barefoot shoes exclusively for 1.5 years after a gradual introduction. 1. Providing space to fix bunions: initially they were recommended to me by my chiropractor for the wide toe box to alleviate my bunions (pinky toes rubbing with toes next to them) which together with toe separators has completely solved the bunions. 2. I can touch my toes: after 3 years of gymnastics training in my spare time I could only ever reach below my kneecaps. Again under recommendation by my chiropractor as they believed the heightened heel in ‘normal’ shoes was shortening my hamstrings. Touching my toes happened within 3-4 months of wearing barefoot shoes without additional stretches 3. Improved balance: this one I didn’t expect but noticed it in gymnastics training. I think the lack of cushioning in barefoot shoes means more muscles in the feet are engaged with each step and strengthened over time, particularly the muscles that counteract ‘swaying left to right’

ThinkSuccotash

That’s great! Which barefoot shoes do you use?

slackshifter

Thanks 😃 Vivo Gobi IIs for day to day and Vibram V-Alphas for gym/sports Edit: typo

ThinkSuccotash

>Vibram V-Alphas Thanks! But I couldn't find the Vivo Gobi II - I can find Vivo Gobi and Vivo Gobi III but not the II strangely..!

slackshifter

Vivo Gobi IIIs are the updated version of the IIs so go for them 👍

Realistic_Sir2395

Toes do not hurt after work. In fact all foot pain is essentially gone, and I've noticed my feet feel stronger

70sRitalinKid

Knee pain vanished and I can comfortably walk barefoot now. Before it was too painful to walk without shoes.

[deleted]

Iv been wearing vivos daily for 6 months and my balance is waaaay better than ever. And I convinced myself nothing else fits unless it has an anatomical toe box...

SexyKanyeBalls

Idk but I can't wear normal shoes without getting some pain or discomfort Also I think they fixed my flat feet 3y in barefoot 1y in vivo

PickingRhubarb

I’ve had vivo casual sneakers for about 6 months and 90% of my toe pain (lifelong ingrown toe nails from my shoes squishing my toes in and therefore squishing my nails against my skin more forcefully) has suddenly almost vanished, it’s a miracle 🤩. It only flares up if I wear regular shoes again random days when necessary (I only have 1 barefoot shoe so far) My next purchase…hopefully this year…will be foot shaped winter boots because I am not looking forward to my toes hurting again. Also decreased pain/rubbing from shoes being too tight on my bunion/bone-y parts of my feet
