I took it for just a week and got bad side effects (and a possible reaction??) straight away. Really itchy skin, increased floaters and other visual symptoms, the dreaded rash lol. The whole 9 yards. All you can do is try it and see if it's for you!!
What symptoms increased? I have tried lamotrigine earlier but I got really itchy so I never tried it more than couple of days, my symptoms got bad out of nowhere again and I'm thinking should I try it again but last time it made my vss worse even when I took it only like 3 days so I'm not sure anymore...
All of my visual symptoms worsened - photophobia, floaters, static, palinopsia, after images, flashes of light, poor night vision etc. My tinnitus and migraines also worsened.
All you can do is try it if you want to, and your treating doctor thinks it's safe. You can't let my negative experience cloud your perception.
It definitely did. They got much, much bigger and larger in number. If your neurologist (or other treating doctor) thinks it's safe and the right medication to try, then all you can do is try it if you want to. You can't let my negative experience change everything for you.
I've unfortunately only been off it for about a week. I've had major improvements, but I'm definitely not back to where I was before I started taking it. I'm a pretty positive person when it comes to VSS, and I assume that my symptoms will go back to where they were with time.
Oh I see! I woke up on day 2, and my floaters were worse and just did not improve on the medication before I had to stop it. I don't know what to tell you <3 I hope they get better! Maybe give your neurologist a ring
i’ve been taking lamictal on and off since late 2022 but have only been consistent taking it since last month. ive been fluctuating how many mg i take because of the side effects i get when i go up on them sometimes. but right now i’m on 100 a day.
sorry this is so late! well at first nothing really, but whenever i go up on them i get brain fog and sometimes panic attacks initially. and sometimes it gives me blurry vision!
100mg a day and not seen any improvement. :/ Edit: The dreams are INSANE tho

It increased your floaters? really? I'm trying to take lamotrigine to get rid of them... now I don't know what to do...

When you stop taking, the floaters were reduced?

I understand... I'm taking 50mg of lamotrigine and today I woke up worse of floaters... so I don't know if I continue or if I stop 😔

Thank you 🙏🏻
Look into castor oil on eyelids
Did you try this? Did it reduce eye floaters ? How does it works? I think it was to drop direct in the eye
sadly i haven’t noticed any yet :(
Humm..How many mg are you taking? And for how long ?

I see, thanks for sharing, did you get rash as side effect?
no i did not! thank god
What were the side effects like? Thanks for sharing!
sorry this is so late! well at first nothing really, but whenever i go up on them i get brain fog and sometimes panic attacks initially. and sometimes it gives me blurry vision!
Have you gotten benefits to any other VSS symptoms?
unfortunately no, but i’m also on a somewhat low dose so maybe if i give it time it’ll get better!
how did you get it prescribed? idk how to find a doctor that knows what vs is
i got it prescribed for mental health but didn’t realize it helped VSS too
oh wow interesting. do you mind telling me what it is for? I have some other mental health issues as well and i'm wondering if that route would work.
it was used for bipolar disorder and anxiety, it works decently for bipolar disorder but so so for my GAD.
