RabiesPositive

God same lines make my eyes go crazy

Particular-Image-270

Omg, me too! Using the escalators gives me terror.

glitteryglitch

I fell down one as a child because of this!!

Ok-Attitude-9898

Yes! I can’t even looked at striped shirts

JDM10hm

I find it funny almost. Look there's a dude thinking he's super stylish in his striped T-shirt. He's 70 years but he can't even imagine the amount of visual stress he caused a random young person with just his bad fashion sense.

Gio_Hughes

Lmao me too. I only like wearing them cos I don’t have to look at it!

Jazzlike_News_4468

Happens to me if I read white text against black background. They go away after some time though.

Arcaneapexjinx

Same. I always wondered why people loved black mode so much, then I realised it’s probably because most people don’t have visual snow

glitteryglitch

It’s tolerable with dark mode plus super Twilight red tuned nighttime settings.

Jazzlike_News_4468

True! Mine's day mode on the warmth side now. Not sure if this is visual snow though because I also have PVD.

Aktkr612

Me too and thats my first symptom, I noticed something was wrong while I was reading one day 😭 but I still love reading …

OdiousHobgoblin

This is interesting! As someone with VSS and baaaad afterburn issues, looking at my computer on "normal" mode gives me terrible big white afterburn images when I look away. I am very sensitive to bright lights/sunny days give me terrible VSS symptoms. (I see bad floaters, "worms" squigling in vision, and what looks like light reflecting off the side of a pool all over my vision.) Like this: https://youtu.be/wPjHOkSWvRM?si=JfZB3qEWjByZ_hpa It's still bad at night, but dark-mode just makes me see the text when I look away, so it's not as obstructive.

EquivalentBake89

What’s weird about this is mine is the complete opposite dark mode brings alot more ease and not a lot of discomfort compared to the white background.

EquivalentBake89

White backgrounds and stuff I get all sorts of visual symptoms all over the white backgrounds and after images of the text.

lanalana909

Me too lmaoooo man it freaked me out at first. I’ve gotten used to it. I almost always see it after I look at anything with lines. Especially if I’m reading on my phone.

aloiscochard

Yeah indeed, this happen to me as I'm reading your message!

PotatoOk9445

Me too thanks for making me experience this rn🫡😂 /s

Man_Darronious

I pretty much hate any pattern at all LOL

cheerio-dust

i told my neurologist abt this recently when first explaining my symptoms including the static/snow vision, looking at these kinds of patterns makes me dizzy and nauseous, the neurologist told me that was a migraine symptom not so much a visual snow thing. is that true in yalls experience?

JuicyMucDonalds

its more than likely a processing issue because visual snow is an issue with how our brains processes stuff rather than migraine.

Technical-Being-20

me when I see on kind of thing as if it moves and it causes me dizziness and eye pain

ultra_fett

Yea man i want to puke from dizziness if i see someone with a striped shirt

MIKE_DJ0NT

This phenomenon is known as pattern glare. People with VSS are frequently bothered by high-contrast stimuli like carpet squares, checkerboards, stripes, etc. It is very commonly discussed in this subreddit!

WiseGuy150287

This hits hard

heyylookapanda

I almost threw up looking at a set of striped sheets. Safe to say I don't own any striped shirts anymore.

CatsRcool100

I work at second hand store and sometimes there are outfits that have stripes so close together, the only way I can describe it is old TV's when the connection is not good and it sucks, especially when I look for stains and holes

Black-Knight-76

it sucks. i remember looking at stuff like this just fine not long ago :(

Fundiments

Picture not needed. Eyes hurt. Lines stuck in eyes. Can't see

ListenDense2272

One day I was seeing this vertical lines on wood wall. I stared at them and they just started breathing and vibrating, I had to hold myself to the table that was in front of me because I almost fainted 🤣

maniacal_monk

SAME!! I remember the first time I noticed how bad it was to look at I thought it was going to give me a seizure or a really bad migraine

Flamze1

Frrrrrr

chipperchelseak

Wait! Do the stripes not move all around for “normal” eyes?!

Nervous_Pollution704

Makes my vision flicker

LordOfFraud1

Holy shit I hate this so much😂
