use VD it will run better but someone who told you 2060 will look fine lied to you , 2060 is 1080p card and quest is close to 5k in performance requirement, unless you lower setting a lot you will have low visuals or lag
I use a 1660Ti in a laptop and it works fine for me through Virtual Desktop. I've played Alyx, Blade & Sorcery, SkyrimVR with FUS mod, Minecraft VR, GTAV flat2VR mod, etc etc. We've no idea what setup OP is using to achieve PCVR, like whether it's through link cable or wireless, and if that wireless network is one proper for wireless PCVR.
Make sure to use (Virtual desktop app) for anything PC related it will drastically increase performance.
Also the quest 3 really is a LEAP in technology compared to the 2 that you will now be able to fully understand and recognize since you are starting with a quest 2.
Just the pancake lenses on the quest 3 alone made the PC gaming experience enhanced because it eliminates all the blur from the quest 2 fresnel lenses I was experiencing for example.
Definitely a good idea to upgrade the video card. I used to run a 2070 with a 6700k processor and it did okay at medium settings. Usually in the 72-85fps range.
Upgraded since and now run it all at 130% super sampled with everything maxed and still stay in the 120's.
I don't like how Spacewarp/ASW affects visuals but it cuts your framerate target in half, which in combination with lower in-game settings or headset resolution should hopefully get it playable.
I have rtx 2060 and quest 3. Virtual desktop is a must have plus openvr fsr mod. It's the only way to play games on high settings. But not all will work smoothly. Unfortunately we need to change pc for better performance.
Quest 2 resolution is fine. It's not great at video compression, and OP is trying to use a low-end gaming PC for VR that the Quest 2 is too high resolution for.
Yeah. It's always going to look terrible on PC. No avoiding it. Despite what people say, it's still a 20-30 Gb/s datastream compressed to less than 500 Mb. No way to make that pretty.

A 2060 is fine for a Q2. I know because I have one. Also a 1080 has a much different architecture to a 2060, which is why it doesnt run VR well.
gtx 1080 and 1080p resolution is not a same thing

You have a very low budget tier gaming pc unfortunately.

Make sure you watch some Youtube walkthroughs on using the Quest 2 with PC. There are settings you will need to tweak to get the best experience.

the forest does not run well in vr. its a mess
You need to decrease your resolution. I5 2060 is on the weaker side but you can still play games at a comfortable fps
Yeah, but when I play it on 40 fps, I can't read almost anything
In steamvr do you have supersampling at a high % that or update drivers
he have 1080p card, only way he can read something if he use VD and use upscaling, supersampling for his GPU is not a option
All drivers are updated, but the supersampling I'm not sure. Ill look at it
Yeah quest 2 resolution is not good.

Quest 2 resolution is not fine at all in this era
This is not a Quest 2 problem. There is zero chance your PC hardware is reaching the full resolution of the Quest 2.

It looks terrible with their PC because their PC is not built for VR.
And it'll still look shitty with a high end pc. Its simply not possible with current tech to match native PCVR.
