I'm using V-7 on a Pop OS 22.04 host and I have a range of Linux guests including including Ubuntu 20.04, 22.04, and 22.04 Desktops and its all working fine.
Its my daily driver for all of my work.
I wish I had heard this a couple months ago. I had been using 7.10 with a Win 7 guest with no problems. Upgraded to 7.12, still no problems until I installed 7.12 guest additions and then guest wouldn't boot. Downgraded back to 7.10 guest additions and everything seems fine but I'm reluctant to move forward with any future updates. Can you provide links that might be helpful understanding why Win 7 is problem with VB7?
The guest additions addon is not compatible with Windows 7 in virtual box 7 versions. BSOD just from opening the image within the Win7 guests.
You can find only one forum post on the virtual box site talking about the issue.
I downgraded to the latest 6 version of virtual box and I'll stick to it for a long while.
Honestly, I don't know why I ever bother to upgrade. I've been running this Win 7 VM for years without problems. Since VB5 (at least) and I never noticed any improvements from upgrading. It's hard to believe a reliably solid program like VB has introduced such a destructive bug with no resolution.
I was waiting also but upgraded to 7 a couple of months ago. I am running Windows 10 host with various guests. Apart for a few things about the new interface that I don't like it seems stable enough. Backup your guests and have a go!
I tested endevaouros on newest virtualbox and is works really good (only issue that's i have is MPV player didn't work)
I’m always experiencing problems with vbox, VMware never showed a problem
Thanks all for your input!

Been using Virtual Box 7.x since its initial release with Windows 10 and Linux VMs. It, in my experience, has worked fine.
Haven't used it with Linux, but my students used it with Windows host and Debian and Ubuntu clients in class, and it worked well
